I worked at Gamestop for about 4 years, that's  just a placeholder date.

What the heck are you talking about? The dice are fine.
    1) Reading is fundamental.  1a) People learn to recognize the difference in shapes and symbols and colors in K5.
    2)  This can always be tweaked for you OP elites down the line without changing the mass product.

You bring up good points about your local group.  One thing I don't want to hear is someone didn't paint minis becausethey say they're bad at it.  I used to be in the same boat and after playing some 40k and painting my minis, they actually look really good after just watching videos and putting a wash on everything.

Yeah, I play BA and 40k which require 1'' between squads and you can visually see the different squads. You don't need to make them different colors or anything, you can just se the squads. Oh, also I know both games do awards for like thematic and best painted and stuff like that.

I'd recommend looking at other games like 40k and boltaction for example. Every table is different and if s store is lacking terrain they ask you to bring some pieces or they use very generic terrain for a table. Not flat cardboard.

Sad, this game looks awesome and so many people complaining about the scale, when it's a totally separate game from IA.

PSA: legion is not IA. No reason they should be same scale. They're not making legion specifically for people who played IA.

Here's some nice easy Endor trees that came together quite nicely, matches the scale as well since they're essentially red woods.

A big problem I've been seeing is people who play IA think they have to stop playing it to play legion or it's some personal attack on them, when in all reality, they're different games all together. You don't have to buy everything Star Wars related ffg releases. I personally enjoy IA, but understand they're different and I can't wait for legion!

With Legion, Star Wars fans are getting for the first time, a miniatures game which encourages the creative, hobbyist element. Most war-gamers will tell you, creating terrain and wargames scenery is as much fun, if not more fun, that the actual game play. There's something incredibly rewarding about spending time crafting a beautiful set piece, then eventually using it in a game scenario. A realistic gaming environment, with a textured playing surface and an assortment of realistic scenery will bring the game to life in a way you just can't get with the likes of X Wing and Imperial Assault.

This is effectively Warhammer 40k for Star Wars fans - Something i've wanted for over 20 years - and I can't be the only one.

Totally different game than the ones mentioned.  You'll be surprised how many Table Top War gamers that don't play any of those games will start playing Legion.  Just because someone doesn't like building or painting miniatures you have to think some people want that hobby. To each their own though!

I've definitel heard more 40k players excited about this game than X-wing players. I'm an Armada player and the other Armada people are also excited for Legion. I think there are just different types of players and most of those complaining early on this forum weren't the target type of player.

Yeah these look great. You can also texturize the trunks. Add branches, do all kinds of fun things. The fish plants are a great idea. You can build some really cool alien planets this way too.

Very easily, just let it sit for a few hours. I recommend doing all the clay trees first then waiting for them all to drive. Clay is only expensive part but you only need so many for a board. Going to work on a fallen one.

The longest part of the whole thing is the air dry clay drying.

Home Depot or loses sells pvc, just get that, you can get different radius. Then I used crayola modeling clay to build it up then I used flocking and cheap fish bowl  scenery from the dollar store. Just paint brown and go over in black wash in some places

People have to understand, this isn't a board game this is a miniature war game, designed for people that like that kind of thing. It's a bigger hobby than just playing.

Making your own terrain is part of the miniature game hobby. If you have no desire to make your own then there are plenty of third party vendors out there and commission terrain makers that can provide some very nice generic sci-fi terrain and game mats for a price. The challenge with the Star Wars setting is that only the license holder i.e. FFG will be allowed to sell "official" Star Wars terrain. Third party manufacturers will not be able to sell exact Star Wars replicas due to licensing restrictions with Lucasfilms/Disney. However, that doesn't stop you from making your own. Remember miniature gaming is a hobby in itself that embraces and promotes creativity and artistry. Buying and painting miniatures is just part of the hobby. Having great looking terrain tables will require a significant investment in time and/or money. The time and money I've spent on terrain for my miniature games rivals that of the cost and time to collect, build, and paint the miniatures for the game. The great looking Legion demo tables at Gen Con were not cheap in time or money to make/acquire from scratch.
