Other question : in play was Sir Davos, the pillaged card was Sir Davos too... since the pillaged card if it is a character is going directly to dead pile ; what happened to the IN PLAY Sir Davos ?
I argue with the other that since he is dead, the Davos in play is dead too with no chance to return in hand of the player ? that is really the only way to put him out of the play definitely ... no ?
then since the player didnt want to put him too in his dead pile, wew reread dead pile rules and it is saying that we cant interact with dead pile characters, and that if by some event a dead pile characters can be release of his dantesque place, he can be returned only if he has only one copy on the dead pile...
so my conclusion is Davos is dead in dead pile, and something like a walking dead in play : the player cant play or do some challenge with Zombie Davos until the one copy in the dead pile is somethink like resurrected and then Sir Davos in play would get out of his coma, if not he stay unactive until end of world...
is it the good interpretation ? other player argue too about dead spikes plot saying that it was the same thing ...
and finally if I choose to dead him too is Davos returned to hand but could not be played anymore since he is in the dead pile ...?
thanks for answer...
Davos is in play ---> Pillage card going to Deadpile is Davos----> Davos in play remains in play, but if he is killed later on, he will go back to the players hand, but cannot then be marshalled again.
However, if you were to select Davos as the target for Gregor's text: "Then, you may choose and kill a character with printed cost equal to that card’s printed cost."
Then yes, the in play Davos would be dead (unless saved).

I think with the proper cards Stannis can be great. With my deck I felt he was hurting me more than helping me more often than not. Currently running Bara//Tyrell. I took him out and now I just rely on Robert//Loras//Randyll with the Melisandre package.
If I wasn't enjoying the Bara/Sun deck, I'd be doing the exact same thing. May try it next week tho.

He really needs Lightbringer to shine.. as it gives him renown (ability to stand), but that makes him a cost 7 str 5. Which I think is slightly overpriced. I would have loved Lightbringer to have a built in cost reduction if Melisandre is in play.
The R'hllor trait wasn't enough?
I take your point, though from personal experience I have found it much less impactful in a melee..
My meta doesn't play joust much, and more often than not, my opponents are able to generate more power more quickly than I can from kneeling a character.
I do agree slightly with the OP, from a melee perspective, Bara at launch were one of the strongest factions, whereas now we are definitely near/at the bottom (in my opinion).

I tend to play Bara in melee. I can attest that whenever I play Stannis there is a collective groan around the game table... I take that as a good sign.
He is definitely needed in a Bara fealty deck, as at present kneeling is a main/only strategy of the faction.

At the end of the phase, remove the poison token and kill a character.
The card does not prevent them being saved, so a dupe or bodyguard or something similar can still be used.

I believe the Bara player is correct..
Tourney for the King protects Knight characters "in your control."
I don't have the rules to hand atm, but I would guess that does not include cards in your hand.

Stannis Baratheon worst character in game ...

I take it that was a joust?
I have only recently started playing Joust and I agree Bara is very strong. Though in my posts above I was referring to melee. To get back on topic, I still don't think Stannis is broken, annoying for others - yes, but Bara needs him to slow other down a little.
