    Try thinking of it this way:
    Valadir's ability is essentially "you may pay one fatigue to add a surge", while the runic knowledge skill is, "you may pay one surge to suffer fatigue and add 2 damage to the attack results."  In the first case, the fatigue is how the ability is triggered. In the second, the fatigue is part of the effect. The difference is subtle.

    The question is justified, I'll try to answer it from my point of view:
    While it was Sadgit's idea originally (and he was the one who jumpstarted all this), I would also have chosen to convert "The Shadow Rune".
    And although "The Shadow Rune" is undoubtedly one of the "worst" campaigns for classic Descent (in comparison), this doesn't really make it a bad source to port over. Most of its fault lie in poor balancing because of its open quest structure (which means the hero powerlevel at which each given quest can be played varies dramatically).
    This however isn't as much of a problem for a coop experience, as there is no "other side" to balance the game around. We also can and have to change some things that are hard to convert, but we aim to keep the story and the narrative. And this is one of the things that the "newer" players (those who bought the "Heirs of Blood" release) are missing out on, because there sadly is no way to get the shadow rune today.
    While I fully agree that "Heirs of Blood" is the better campaign, "The Shadow Rune" has less complex encounters, which makes it a better pick to convert. At least as the first project.
    Also, at the time when "Heirs of Blood" was released as a campaign book, there were plans to also re-release a "Shadows Rune" campaign book.
    But then the Star Wars-focus thing happened, the Asmodee thing happened, the we-can-sell-miniature-games-now thing happened and everybody knows the current priorities of FFG in regards to Descent, altough they don't communicate them.
    In essence nostalgia might be a big part of the reason why we picked "The Shadow Rune".
    And back in 2017 my foolish self believed, that FFG at some point might realize the potential of such a project and create something similar for Road to Legend. But I guess there isn't anyone left that cares (or has the freedom to care).

    Usually, I do not try to speak for anyone other than myself ... but, I am fairly certain that there is a large contingent of individuals that participate within this forum, that would be very happy if the only new physical content that was released by FFG for D2e contained the following:
    The remaining unconverted 12 heroes from D1e Classes to balance the Archetypes (Healers-5, Mages-5, Scouts-6, Warriors-6) - so give us another Healer and Mage class Hybrid Classes to finish out all of the reasonable possibilities If FFG would create and release the above, I would consider my collection complete, and would be satisfied if the only new content (if any) was digital.
    Make no mistake, I would love additional physical expansions, but if I received the above, I wouldn't be unhappy if it didn't happen.  Without the above, D2e seems unfinished to me, and causes my OCD/Completionist self to twitch uncontrollably at times.

    To be honest, I don't think they even check their forums. The best bet to get them to notice this problem would be to send a direct message to their software support.
    A few people (including me) did send them bug reports about the not appearing h&m side quests in Version 1.3.
    It took multiple weeks until I received a response, and some more weeks until the problem was finally fixed.

    One might assume this, but in reality it's just a wrongly formated field in an excel sheet, that autoconverts the entry 1-4 to a date.

    Little details really make such a difference sometimes. I painted up these doors and portcullises before starting on heroes and monster packs. Highly recommend these over the cardboard ones!

    I looked at those but I ended up going with the real thing; ordered a bunch of quartz stones off of Amazon for cheap and grind a flat base on the larger ones which fit my need. Then I numbered them on the bottom with a sharpie. I was really going for a look that the stones came right out of the ground when summoned. The rest of the unused stones went in my fish tank.

    So finally completed the Ice Wyrm! Still working on the minion version (struggling with color scheme). But the master is done and I'm happy with it.
    Bad news is that I have to pauze the painting miniatures, need to order my priorities :(. But after the summer I hope to continue painting Descent!

    Since everything else I would wish for was already mentioned here is my no. 1 wish for the next expansion:
     
    - New search cards. Pretty please!
     
    Just anything to change up this glaring monotony of a boring card stack. It worked for IA, so it should also work for Descent. Make searching interesting again

    Thats not right at all. These tokens are never on the map, but on the hero sheets. Which is the heros play area.Special class tokens on the map, are like trap tokens, or mirror image tokens. Along withh any tokens used from classes in the future.
    Things that stick around are Valor, Elixir, and Insight.
    Edit: Conditions are very obiously kept between stages. The "Normal" mode lets you heal conditions in between stages and heal some health.

    Delve missing Chains that Rust stages
      So it appears that although the collection part of the App reports that having Chains that Rust in your collection adds 5 stages to the delve, it is currently only adding two.   The two that CtR is adding are two “standard” stages and no “boss” stages.   It is my belief that what we are missing are three Act II Boss stages.   This assumption is based on how the App handles Mists of Bilehall.   MoB gives you two standard stages and three Act I Boss stages. N.B. in keeping with the cards supplied in the box set, RTL will only give you MoB boss battles in Act I. In other words, if you only have MoB you will never encounter the lieutenants included with it in Act II (which makes perfect sense).   I have tested this reasonably thoroughly (and somewhat laboriously) and have not been able to generate any CtR boss stages in Act II (50 tries) or Act I (25 tries).   This was with just the base set and CtR in the collection manager. Bear in mind with this setup there is a 37.5% chance to generated a CtR boss stage if they are available.   Using a similar setup with just Mists and the base set I was able to get 11 MoB boss stages in 25 tries (Act I of course, not Act II)   Of course this is assuming that there should be 3 boss stages, but I think given what other expansions add it's a logical assumption (also in 50 tries I could only generate two standard stages)   Results and working below:     Chains That Rust Act I stage sample -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-   50 samples   39 standard stages 11 CtR stages   Two separate CtR stages generated   8 x (78B, 91B, 93B, 96B) 3 x (88A, 93A)   Chains That Rust Act I Boss stage sample -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-   25 samples   25 standard boss stages 0 CtR boss stages     Chains That Rust Act II Boss stage sample -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-   50 samples   50 standard boss stages 0 CtR boss stages     Mists Of Bilehall Act I Boss stage sample -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-   25 samples   14 standard boss stages 11 MoB boss stages   Three separate MoB boss stages generated   3 x Ardus 3 x Kyndrithul 5 x Zarihell   Mists Of Bilehall Act II Boss stage sample -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-   25 samples   25 standard boss stages 0 MoB boss stages     Act I stages were tested by creating a two character party, starting the delve and quitting the App as soon as the stage map was presented. Re launching and loading the campaign would cause the App to generate another stage.   Boss stages were tested by advancing a two character party to the stage just before the Boss. All monster groups were defeated, and character turns ended. This created the prompt to see if the heroes were all near the portal … “No” was selected which started a new round and saved the campaign state. At this point it became possible to quit the App and reload the save … then each characters turn would be ended and the App would be informed that all characters were adjacent to the portal this would generate a Boss stage. The App would be quit and the process repeated to generate another Boss stage, and so on.

    I couldn't agree more: I am still baffled that the search deck has all but been ignored by the developers. I am not going to play less Descent because of this but it goes without saying that an expanded search deck would add to the fun and tension when doing a search action. Not knowing exactly what you are going to find is half the fun. Neither should it contain too many cards but a (slightly) different search deck depending on the scenario could go a long way. The posters above have given interesting possibilities for new search cards. As Takeda suggested, I will gladly pay money for a card only expansion that remedies this. Pretty Please FFG  .

    I hope the next expansion will contain at least a few new search cards. The search deck is the most static thing about Descent, and it could really use an expansion.

    Temporay fix: create a new campaign, quit, than reload a save. You need repeat this steps again every time you launch the app (yeah, this sux).

    Yesterday, I had planned for a quiet 4th of July.
     
    Quite frankly, most of my days are quiet these days.
     
    My friends were not about to let that happen.  G-d bless them.
     
    They showed up at my house most unexpectedly at 10 am.  I wasn't even dressed.  They brought food, drink, and were prepared for a day of fun, whether I was ready for it or not. 
     
    For the first time in more than two years, I got to play D2e.  For more than 12 hours we played with the app and battled the demons of Terrinoth.
     
    Tomorrow, I turn 75.  This morning, I am thoroughly exhausted, mentally drained, and feeling ill.
     
    It was the best **** birthday gift I have ever received in my life.  I love my friends.
