I use three stacks of this bad boy:

They were a top and a bottom for $20 so I bought 2 sets. I used a dremmel to cut the hand out of the bottoms and put foamboard down to cover the hole. I now carry my entire collection with me between the 3 stacks. It's pretty awesome for the price.

    that said...

    Core-wave 2 released in 2015
    That's 9 ships 3 fighter packs... in a year
    Wave 3-5 dropped in 2016
adding 6 ships and 2 fighter packs (plus a campaign)... in a year

If they add a new faction to armada, I don't think it's a far stretch to say they'll pick up the pace to match the early game production schedule...

Honestly anyone still upset about the Clone Wars after the launch of the Executor and two more Calactic Civil War era expansions are nothing more then entitled.
This game was dead in the water for a long time but now we know it at least has another five years of life to it.
FFG are awful communicators but at least we finally know what’s in store. I couldn’t be more excited!

Only if it was usable offline. FFG had the foresight to completely ignore that aspect on the X-wing builder, so if you made lists while you had Wifi access but didn't screen cap 'em for the event which doesn't, good ******' luck.

For more hilariously inaccurate prophecy, check out the top post in the old Game of Thrones Card game off-topic forum about the “new” HBO show.  Guy on the first page’s episode 1 review:
”Yawn.  Won’t interest anyone other than hardcore fans of the book.”

Has anyone seen any conversions of the e-web blaster team to use normal storm troopers instead of snow troopers?  I don't wants snow troopers all the time.  One of the things that I'm iffy on about getting started with the game is the fact that troopers are released that are specialized climate troopers, and if I'm playing in a different climate it doesn't make sense.  My brain has trouble dealing with it.

So...not prophetic at all?  It looks fine on the table, the predicted size is wrong, and the announcement hasn’t led a noticeable portion of people to leave - at least not vocally.
This is like someone saying they brought your loved one back from the dead and all they’ve done is string them up like a marionette and clumsily made them dance.

That's a brilliant idea. I actually have an AoR campaign I designed to incorporate Armada. GM'd it with our gaming group and they were literally begging me to run a second one.  I pre-made the characters.

Thorne- Human Imperial officer turned rebel after his home town was bombarded and family killed by the imperials without justification.
Zoidbar-Moncal that survived the orbital bombardment of his homeworld and lost MOST his sanity after floating among the dead for a week. (he though he was a crab, dressed in metal plate armor painted red, used vibroaxes fashioned into claws... scutteled sideways when he walked... the whole 9 yards).
GR8-B8- CloneWars era super battle droid that gained sentience while it was being reprogrammed. Considered meat religions (the force) "illogical"

The mission was to infiltrate a hidden imperial research outpost, gather data about the research there and escape with a bonus for destroying all stored files and functional prototypes.

The party got no further than the first hallway out of the landing bay before being accosted by a deck officer. From there the face of the group pretended to be a security inspector, and gave the whole command structure of the installation lectures about lax the security was and how they were all getting written up... (Had the face not rolled 2 triumph icons EVERY roll as well as passing the dice test, I wouldn't have let it pass, but good rolls are GOOD). They made it to the last guy, who was an enlisted that caught them stealing data. When the enlisted confronted the group with the station CO, he explained it by saying "what if rebels dressed up like imperials" (from this moment on, this became an inside joke with out group... in the theater when rogue one came out the guy who played gr8 b8 ended up shouting "what if rebels?!" when the rogue crew snuck in wearing imp garb.... he did the same thing in TLJ too). They stole the data, data bombed the facility, rigged the core to detonate, disabled the automated weapon platforms, reprogrammed the  defense computer to recognize imperial ships as targets and stole "Admiral screed's" personal Gladiator.

It was at this point that they entered the armada side.

They had to escape the station with the gladiator. There were two objective tokens on the far side of the map. They had to reach those tokens to jump to hyperspace. 2 interdictor prototypes (which is what the base was researching) patrolled the area. The party was almost immediately engaged, (as Screed kept tabs on his ship and seeing it depart unscheduled, informed the patrol). The PCs were smart though, they drew the Imperial ships in until the stations defenses could engage then fired the first shots and few out of it's range. Once the station started firing they destroyed an interdictor and they flew off. The station detonated damaging the last interdictor. They decided to flee to the jump points.

This is where I Hyperspaced in 3 kitted ISDs between the Gladiator and the jump points. They took a volley from one ISD and were in bad shape when they crossed the point I marked secretly to "send reinforcements". 2 liberty mc80s and 2 mc80 HO dropped in at range 3 of the ISDs as well as 6 x-wing squads. They fought it out until the gladiator could escape, and that ended the game.

It's all a matter of opinion here. I prefer the new-age designs behind the super-sleek Resurgent, and the unconventional shapes of the Nebulon-C, Resistance Bombers, Mandator IV and Kylo Ren's shuttle. I'm chomping at the bit for the Maxima-A cruiser to get depicted in this game. I can wait decades for any of the Clone Wars designs.
I'd much rather prefer sleek, crisp, efficient designs and harsh angles of the First Order over the cartoonish designs of the prequels. Hands down I'd trade a Venator for a Resurgent in a heartbeat, and fly First Order gear over the garish Republic.
So lets get Clone Wars out of the way so we can move on to the more interesting stuff. By then IX will be out and Resistance will have run for a few seasons, giving Sequel fans a boatload of new stuff to look forward to, after the last chapter of the clone wars has finally closed.

I've always got the impression that the skywalker era of Star Wars was in a state of severe scientific decline. Which after millennia after millennia of civil wars, homicidal religious cults and general strife, followed by a thousands years of relevtive peace, kinda makes sense. If you go back as far as the Great hyperspace war,  the technologies were still improving. The Jedi used lightsabers that required external power to use. The Sith used regular weapons imbued with the force.

It was wasn't until the Sith improved the lightsaber designs and turned them on the Jedi that we even saw the one we see in the skywalker era. That advancement happened some 5000 years before the attack on Yavin. After the great hyperspace war we have the mandolrian wars and the first great schism, which were flooded with tech that make the GCW seem like a side show. There were Sith that could project thousands of illusions to the battlefield, and rip the cores of stars out.

I feel like when the New Sith Wars ended and the republic had a solid 1000 years of relative peace the technologies started declining. Even the First Order, and their newfangled tech isn't really all that impressive given the tech of the immortal empire of even the old Sith Empire. As the story moves furth forward, even major characters are clinging to more powerful, older methods. Kylo's lightsaber design is supposed to be quite ancient from what I understand.
