While I love the idea of tractor beams bringing ships out of hyperspace (thank you Thrawn books), I would add another stipulation: The interdictor needs to be near (distance 1–4?) one of the tokens to bring the ship in.

Without that stipulation, you’ve just handed Imperials the option to drop an ISD anywhere on the map at any angle. That’s too strong. Raddus has serious limits that you have to work around and your idea should too.

Gun-owner rights have nothing to do about toy production (this coming from a gun-owner and 2A supporter).
How toys are produced has a direct relation to this game where toys are produced to play it.
You're way off base here, and by the way, how did "don't use slaves" and "don't abuse child labor" become a "political agenda" to you? Did you actually bother to read the Ethical Toy Program?
PS Looks like Hasbro is attempting to phase out plastic packaging by 2020
    FFG should follow suit.

So, people have been clamoring for the SSD since this game released.
Since the very first request for an SSD, I have been saying that I thought it was just too big to fit in the game and it would either look off or be prohibitively expensive.  I think my words were along the lines of “even with the sliding scale it will look too small.”
When it was announced I still maintained my cautious stance of, “I don’t think it will work.”
Throughout this entire time I have had a caveat, that I had faith in FFG and if they could pull it off, I would retract all of my previous statements.
I finally got my SSD yesterday, and I officially retract all of my previous statements.  This thing is gorgeous.  Sure, it’s not in perfect scale, but it’s big enough to dwarf everything else on the table, and you can easily ignore the fact that it isn’t scaled perfectly (what in Armada is, after all) or imagine that it’s a tactical overlay on a holo-table or something, rather than a perfect representation of all the ships.
I was wrong, the ship is amazing, and FFG pulled it off.

There should be a new rule regarding Vics : If a Victory has its antenna intact, it should gain a free Boosted Comms

I really hate that the spokespeople for climate awareness have such stupid things to say. Isn't the term "settled science" an oxymoron? There's a majority consensus among those who study the field that not only is the climate shifting but that it's caused by mankind. That said scientists in the field do not a have full grasp of all the variables (as if they ever could in a system as complex as global climate), therefore calling it "settled" is a bit of a misnomer, there's always more to discover and understand in a scientific endeavor.

Climate issues aside, I don't think it's a bad idea to consider sustainability and environmental impact. It's important to remember that climate change isn't the only issue when looking at environmental impacts. One of the key things I notice any time I open an FFG expansion (whether this or Armada) is that there are often lot's of little plastic pieces or garbage. I feel like a lot of the extra plastic packaging is unnecessary. I feel like there's a 100% probability some of those stupid little baggies are floating around in the ocean somewhere....

I hate these things. Cards? In a bag. Bases? In a bag. Models? You'll want a few bags for those. Cardboard? In a bag. We don't need it! The boxes have a divider in them already, just dump all the models in one side and cards in the other. The pop-out tokens can go between the divider and the outer box. No baggies, no chance of damage to components.

What my friend said once he saw the article was "charge up get in melee, then if they try to disengage you can finish them off with the flamethrower" It's an excellent deterrent for disengagement as well as a slight extend of the threat range and position control.

    Sure, jut buy more games

But it is a good sign that FFG could put some thought toward their packaging and making it less wasteful.  At least the inserts are cardboard.

Although I do reuse them as much as possible to keep them off the floor.

I tend to disagree with you on that we're sliding downward environmentally, but I forgot its "settled science."  If you're that worried about it, feel free to donate the money to a worth cause on your own, and leave my wallet out of it.
