  1. I like the combination of LRS, Homing missiles, and a focus token. Round 1, acquire target lo; Round 2 acquire focus token. I think you have something like a 98% chance to get 4 hits.

But in the interest of keeping both bombers a threat after round 2, it may be best to equip them with guidance chips, concussion missiles, and extra munitions.

  2. I've been staring at my two tie-bombers and two defenders and wanting to come up with a list that uses all of them. I only play casually with friends and family.

    - Scimitar. Homing missiles, LRS. x2

    - Delta. x7, Mk. II. x2

I was also thinking about dropping the Mk II's (I almost never use them), and replacing homing with concussion missiles. This frees up 4 points for either extra munitions or seismic charges. Bombers with focus and homing missiles would be brutal on the initial engagement, but wouldn't do much else after that. Concussion missiles with extra munitions allows another shot, but that would mean disengaging in order to get the LRS target locks back.

    Thoughts?

  3. I didn't want to spam the board, so I'll ask multiple questions here. I only play casually with family and friends, so please bear with me.

1: If I use a t-beam to place an enemy ship on an asteroid, what exactly happens besides that ship not being able to fire? What happens to that ship the next round? Does it roll an attack die immediately after being placed on the asteroid? Does it lose an action the following round?

2: If I have a ship with marksmanship and cluster missiles, do both attacks get modified?

3: I have a bomber with crackshot, attacking a x-wing with a focus token. The attacker rolls 3 hits, the defender 2 eyeballs. The rule book makes it sound like crackshot has to be used before the defending x-wing's final modification of die (page 5 of rules ref). Does this mean that the defender could use his focus token to get two evades, and crackshot can't do anything about it?

"The attacker can resolve any card abilities that allow him to modify the defense die. Then the defender can modify his defense die."

4: A bomber drops a proximity mine, and a rebel ship does a k-turn through it. The rebel ship takes a crit (thrust control fire). Does the rebel ship just get 2 stress tokens and complete the k-turn?

    Thanks!

  4.

There will never be a Gunboat, it would have made it by now. They are using rebels tv stuff. Your Gunboat is dead...long live the King....

As a great Jedi once said, "Your overconfidence is your weakness."

And as a great Sith once replied, "Your faith in FFG is yours". Or something like that.

  5. I play casually against my wife, and in each of the last 2 games we played I fielded a TIE/x7.  It's a ton of fun. In both games the x7 was the only ship that survived. A bit of luck of the die (and inflicting a couple direct hits), but I really like setting up between a couple asteroids and doing 6+ k turns in a row and getting a free evade and taking a focus each time. I think my x7 took out 3 ships each match (x-wing and a-wing aces)!

I can hardly wait till the veterans release so I can field 2 TIE/D's with ion canon and Fel. :D

Oh, and in both games I only had to do one maneuver that was less than 3 speed.

  6. I'm a new player, and recently played a game with my family in which I was using the Hound's Tooth, and the other team was using the Millennium Falcon. At one point in the game, I moved the Hound's Tooth and the physical ship was touching the Falcon, but the bases wouldn't have touched. What are the rules regarding large ships touching, but bases not touching?

    Thanks!

  7. Thanks for all the suggestions. Much appreciated. I just got my new scum ships (IG 88, Hounds tooth, most wanted), and now IG-88 and Bossk are making life unbearable for the opposing players (because of huge amounts of firepower). I think I'll take the previous poster's advice of keeping to generics for now. I'll be more careful about what upgrades I use, since IG88 and Bossk are workhorses when fully loaded.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is meant by "proxying" cards? Do you mean use upgrades that we don't actually own?

  8. I just started playing this game last month, and would like advice on how to create evenly matched games with the ships I have available. I play with my wife and two of my kids, and it seems like 90% of the time whoever uses Baron Soontir Fel wins. Here's what I have so far:

    - Original Core Set

    - Force Awakens Core Set

    - TIE Interceptor

    - TIE Defender

    - TIE Bomber

    - A-Wing

    - B-Wing

    I recently ordered:

    - Millennium Falcon

    - Hound's Tooth

    - IG-2000

    - Most Wanted Expansion

Can anyone give me some general advice on how to create matches with the ships that I have so that the opposing forces are fairly evenly matched? I have no interest in participating in any tournaments, just having fun at home since we're all big Star Wars fans here. The matches don't have to be strictly 100 points (we've been using 60 lately so each team gets 2 ships).

    Thanks!
