Well, they could include unique codes inside each expansions that you have to put into the app to prove you own it, but I doubt they'd do that.

Does using a squad builder app mean that you get access to ALL potential upgrades (eg you don't have to buy an epic ship for Palpatine)? I'll see what FFG vids are up on youtube.
@LagJanson, yeah, I think I'll wait and see how all the changes shape up before investing more $$$ into this game. We're already playing with our own house-rules which address some of the issues we've had with the game.

I leave for a month or two, come back to see if they've announced a Skipray Blastboat yet, and there's all this "X-Wing 2.0" stuff flying around now. What's going on around here?!? I never played tournaments, and just fly casually with friends and family (using non-unique pilots and small-base ships). Is 2.0 a complete overhaul of game mechanics? If so, what do I need to read, and what do I have to buy if I want to be "current"? Wondering if folks like me that only play casually will benefit from spending another $100+ on this game...
Lastly, what are the major issues that prompted 2.0? Only 2 or 3 different lists showing up to tournaments with the rest of your collection collecting dust on the shelf?

Am I the only person that doesn't like to use Tie Punisher's b/c they're sooo ugly? I won't play with anything that's ugly, no matter how good it is. I shouldn't be excited to see my own ship obliterated so that I don't have to look at it anymore.

I only fly casually, so help me with the rules here. In what order would you perform your actions/maneuvers with the above^ loadout? Perform maneuver, focus, use PTL to Adv SLAM (receive stress and weapons disabled token), use Adv SLAM to target lock as a free action, dump Ion torps/missiles or APT's to ruin opponents day, point finger at said opponent and laugh?
How does the above^ work when you want to use a reload action?

I only play casually, but I would really like to see the following on my bookshelf:
Lancer-class Frigate
Dreadnought-class heavy cruiser
Carrack-class light cruiser
Corellian Gunship (DP20)
Anything Chiss (Clawcraft, etc)
XG-1 Gunboats and Skiprays

What, no thread posts in the last 48 hours? Y'all must be too busy flying your new gunboats to bother chatting about them. I've been too busy with work and stuff to fly my new glorious gunboats to victory against the Rebellion :-(

The 2 gunboats I ordered should arrive today. Already wishing I had ordered three...
I only play casually with friends/family, so I'm thinking about running 2 Nu's with XG-1, LRS, Linked, and HLC, and Whisper with VI, FCS, Gunner, and ACD. That's a heavy hitting list bwahahahah!
The other option I'm thinking about is 2 Rho's with crackshot loaded like the above^ Nu's, and Vessery with Juke, MKII, x7. But that looks less mean.

Oh, another question. When a ship chooses to repair damage (instead of recover a shield), can they get rid of a flipped up card (critical hit)?

Don't remember coming across "Death Match" in the core set rule/playbook. Maybe my reading comprehension is lacking

Maybe what I'll do is look through what objectives look interesting, and go from there. I haven't played too many games, so I'm still figuring out all the rules, but I can probably handle a handful of objectives now. Using objectives and sticking to 6 rounds would probably take less time than chasing down a bunch of ships in a 400pt death match.
Is there a pdf rulebook somewhere that's more up-to-date than the original core playbook?

About switching initiative each round, is that in the rules? Massive oversight on my part, because we've been having one player start every single round.
I tried using squadrons (300 pt list, 3 x-wings+wedge) today, but they got bogged down by 5 tieF squadrons and Howlrunner the whole game. Part of the problem is that I had all of them bunched together, so I need to try and make sure to stay on the outskirts of range 1 so that 1 ship like howlrunner doesn't have every single x-wing engaged.
I'll look into Yavaris and Toryn next game for the rebels, and maybe make the Imps not have Motti.

I've only played a handful of times, so I'm trying to make sure I understand the rules correctly.
- Do XX-9 Turbolasers make 2 crits be dealt faceup, or does it cause 2 damage cards to be dealt faceup?
- What would allow an engaged squadron to disengage/move? In the last game I played 4 of my X-wings got tied up by a handful of Tie-Fs, so they couldn't attack an ISDII like I wanted them to. If I wanted to field some Tie Bombers, what would I do to keep them from getting stuck being engaged with enemy squads?
- Objectives kind of make life complicated. We just want to field ships and fighters and blow each other up. Any house rules that would help with this? Rebels seem to have a hard time going toe-to-toe with Imps without objectives though. Motti makes it almost impossible take down an ISDII in 6 round.
Not sure if this helps, but I have 1 ISD, 2 VSD, Imp squadron expansions 1 and 2, 1 Raider, 1 Gladiator, 1 Arquitens, 1 MC80 (not ackbar), 1 AFM2, 1 neb B, 2 corellian corvettes, 1 mc30, 1 gozanti, 1 rebel transports, 1st rebel squadron expansion.

Still waiting for my 2 gunboats in the mail. Loading them with HLC, XG-1, LRS, and Linked Battery (maybe crackshot?) seems like a good/popular combo around here. I only play casually with friends/family, so I'll probably build a squad with Vessery and 2 Nu's or Rho's since I like Tie Defenders a lot too. I don't play often enough to be a good pilot, so I'm all about that alpha-strike.
How are people loading out Gunboats with ordnance? I'm not familiar with SLAM mechanics, since I've never owned any ships with SLAM till now.

Wow, they finally did it. I come back every few months just to check on the status of the beloved gunboat, and it's finally announced! I had to check the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st

True, true. I despise the existence of the Quadjumper so much I forgot that it existed, until of course you reminded me. So yeah, if FFG can attempt to sell the Quadjumper, they could definitely afford the gunboat.
