Flintlock Jazz reacted to Harlock999 in The Order 66 Podcast: Questions for the Devs - No Disintegrations
Regardless, I think the original question needs to be asked.
Despite others acting like those of us who only buy one line are somehow "acting entitled" to want rules that make sense for a particular career?  And those rules take up valuable space?  The fact is having to purchase an entire book on jedi to get much-needed info for a bounty hunter campaign is absolutely ridiculous ... and I have never seen page count become any kind of burden on anyone even if pages upon pages of fluff is offered up like candy by FFG.  So c'mon now.
(Not that I dislike fluff, but I think an image or two could be shrunken down by 25% and a few lines of extraneous info could be removed in order to provide some crunchy goodness.  Admit it to yourself:  FFG LOVES its fluff and artwork.  And just a wee bit of editing on their part could make page count a complete non-issue.)
I think it's well within bounds to ask why armor crafting rules - or stats on Mandalorians due to the vast number of Mandalorian tech in ND - was not included.
As for me?  I'll sound like an "entitled broken record," I'm sure...  Ha.  However, I wouldn't mind hearing the rationale on how any kind of 'beastmastery' or 'beastriding' info escaped making it into this particular book ... or any of the EotE career books for that matter!  We only have stats for two mounts in the entire line - both from the Corellian sector book.  So creating an American Western-inspired Clint Eastwood or Lee Van Cleef character riding across an alien desert in pursuit of his quarry proves difficult...
...unless, again, you purchase a book outside of the EotE line.  Or create something yourself.

What I might do in that circumstance is  start a new character with the starting points and then a small bonus (say, 100 points or so). And then every session, give them twice as many points as the rest of the team until they catch up. That allows the new character to grow more organically and for the player to discover "Man, I really need Tree X, too!" - but without the annoyance of playing behind the character's power levels.

Got an email from Shiny Games, mine's been dispatched!  Would've been nice to have had some explanation or something to let us know what was going on.

Flintlock Jazz reacted to ShadoWarrior in What skill use Utinni with?
There's still a basic problem with Survival as a tech-scavenging skill, which also exists for Perception: neither skill, nor the abilities that they key off of, address the issue of knowing if a piece of junk is actually useful and/or valuable. That requires Mechanics (or Intellect aka reasoning ability) to assess. Narratively, you'd need to use two skills to scavenge. Perception or Survival to spot something and then Mechanics to assess. In terms of Utinni, though, one must pick a single skill as the scavenging skill. On that basis, the most appropriate skill should be Mechanics.
GMs can, and probably should, require two checks, one to spot and another to assess. In this case, then Utinni should apply to the first check, the check to spot something that might be useful.
Utinni is an odd-duck talent because pretty much every other (non-combat) talent in the Outlaw Tech tree uses Mechanics. Utinni itself leans towards Perception or Survival.

I agree.  That's why I would go with both Perception and Survival for scavenging, it gives options and allows for different kinds of scavengers.  Perception would be used by the Technician-types while Survival would be used by Explorer-types.

You're assuming that's the reasoning behind the argument. Have you considered that for non-career skills most characters will only have an ability score of 2? Creating a talent that requires (or at the least expects) one to use a poor dice pool, or devote valuable XP to improve an ability that doesn't benefit any of that character's career skills (which use other ability scores) just for one talent,  doesn't make much sense.
Perception is already a career skill for Technicians, as is Mechanics. These skills make far more sense for Utinni. Using Survival is inefficient at best and ineffective at worst.

Except with modern containers and tracking, it would be known that that container would be missing. This is also incredibly rare and unlikely, to the point the law of parsimony means i'm just going to discount it.

Esdevium's response to stores is that they don't know when they'll be receiving it. FFG are refusing to answer the multiple emails and questions they've received.

No matter what, it's bad customer service

Just to update those who may be interested, the players figured out that the old lady had bodysnatched Ryale Wei, and went looking for her.  I was surprised to see my players, who had pretty much handled most things thrown at them and are pretty high xp characters, pretty much soil their pants when they realised Inquisitors were also around, to the extent that the slightest sniff of them being near sent them running.  Maybe it was because their one encounter with a Force User previously involved Ryale Force pulling the Klatooinian's gun from his hands, as they seem convinced they 'lack the means to deal with Force-Users'.  One point they jump into a lift going down as the Inquisitors were coming up the other lift coming up and literally squeeled as I describe them seeing the red lightsaber's light appear as their doors close (they had locked the other lift's door and the Inquisitor had to cut through).  Funnily enough, the Inquisitors literally just wanted to talk, that was all!  Though there was a moment when the Gotal almost used a Force power only to realise that this was a bad idea with Inquisitors walking around literally seconds from rolling the dice...

Yep, I wouldn't put it past the players to do just that.
I had the body stuffed in the locker of one of the player's on the ship.  They autopsied it and found that its been in a really bad shape for a while (she was only alive due to constant Force use).  I realised from further reading however that Essence Transfer (which is a Force power in the EU that allows for body transfer) results in the original body disappearing into dust, so I may have to say that the constant Force use has slowed her dustification and that she has started to crumble next session.

Honestly, if this keeps up I'm actually going to stop supporting them.  I have both No Disintegrations and Special Modifications on order, No Disintegrations preordered for some time before release, and nothing.  If they cannot be bothered to support their product then neither can I, I know they don't want copies going unsold but this is beyond a joke now.  Sure, I am just one person but everyone in my group and elsewhere seem to be getting shafted by this.  If they don't up their game then I am not going to order another of their products since they obviously cannot provide adequate support for it, especially considering their rather high prices, and start moving to other products while many people I know are just going to download pdfs instead (because they are actually available, unlike the legitimate product).
