  3. I had a really great time. Not having played for about a year before the event, I wasn't expecting to win loads of games, but still managed to go 3-3 after shamelessly netlisting DT scum list... I just missed out of top 32 (coming at 33 in Swiss). All games were really good (maybe the last one was disappointing as I misjuged line of sight on the map and got killed before the game even properly started ).
  4. Same here, looking forward to seeing you!! No: I'm still to play on the new maps, but the Bantha doesn't look too good now (but it was a loads of fun at the time!)
  5. I'll join in as well. Haven't played the game in about a year, but that won't stop me from having fun hopefully!
  6. I don't know the player who wrote on the slip but it seems harsh to directly assume it was made on purpose and not an honest mistake...
  7. Expertise on Vessery was really good to keep the focus for defense! Having deadeye and LRS is a bit strange, but it worked quite well against TL removal (like Black One or CM), insuring I got 2 TLs on my target (boat+Ryad) for Vessery to use... I'm not sure this build is 1st tier at the moment, but it felt quite optimised as it is

  9. Thanks for the interesting battle report. I don't know that you can die from r2d2 crew like this? Your hit should have removed your newly gained shield, no? I also misplayed it recently and lost Vessery to a major explosion and a direct hit that should have just been a shield off!
  10. I lost twice to this list in the Cardiff Regionals. The list seems very aggressive and really gave me pause in how to approach it. I lost because of my own mistakes though: my list should be able to pull out a win (Vess/Ryad/Rho), but it needs a really good approach. I think you need to jump in range 1 asap and then kill Nym as quickly as possible. Then it's just how many ships are left (from the harpoons, TLTs and bombs), before Nym's go down. The risk is to never be able to kill Miranda if you haven't got enough guns left. Only go after Miranda at the beginning if you're confident you can remove her quick. But that'd be the preferred scenario! (Removes Sabine and regen). I think at least TS and Genius should be changed. I don't understand why we would have had Genius and slam bombs nerfed, only to give Nym a brand new tool, arguably even better Still, it's definitely beatable.   12. Hi all, The app is really good and the perfect add-on to the existing campaigns. Do you think there's any chance we get at some point tools from ffg to create user content for the app (missions or even a full campaign)?

  17. I had my two gamorrean guards' weapon broken. They replaced the figures after I sent pictures through the link above. Always a bit disappointing to have something broken when opening the box, but the support is really efficient!
  18. I'm thinking the other way around. If the sentry droids get that much better than the eweequays, we're in for a nice power creep again Hopefully, they'll be as good as, not better...
  19. I've been flying a bit Guri pre-new release. Even without the new title, she's brilliant in a Mindlink list. And so enjoyable to play!
  20. Personally, I don't think the companions really add to the skirmish mode in general. It's ugly on the table and isn't worthwhile in terms of gameplay. (But that's clearly a very personal opinion!). I could do without them at all in skirmish...

  22. So, I gave the list another go, again at a friendly event, this time at BIG in Bristol. There was only 6 of us, but it was enough to have 3 nice games. First game was against Rich who had left his Tie swarm home and was trying a double deci list with Captain Oicunn, the title, Daredevil with EU, rebel captive and an interesting combo of intelligent agent and BoShek. The other deci was Vader riding a Patrol Leader. Rich messed up a bit with his engagement and put the Captain on a rock in the first round of combat. I tried to stay far away from the Captain before getting behind him to avoid his bumping shenanigans and to bait Vader with my one-shield ships. It worked quite well as Vader triggered three times, only removing shields the first two, and killing Talonbane for the last, committing suicide at the same time. Fenn and Guri were left to remove a half health Ocuinn from the board. Really nice game: always a pleasure to play Rich and both his decimator gives you quite a lot to think about. Second game was against Ash. A great player who is always fun to play. He didn't bring his usual Dash, but a TLT bomb list with a heavy loaded Miranda and two TLT Y-Wings. I must say that, even with 2 of my ships equipped with AT, I was not confident going in. The first round saw just Fenn Rau and one TLT in range 3 for no damage. I messed up this as I wanted Guri to have a good as well in order to trigger FCS before things got serious (by the way, I managed to forget several times FCS, but Ash allowed me to put down the target lock late, being the gentleman he is!). The next round, Miranda slammed in to get ready for some bombs. Ash expected Fenn to jump in too far (as I had moved him agressively before). But Fenn moved cautiously in and Miranda ended up in range 1 of Fenn (with TL and focus), 2 of Guri and 3 of Talonbane (all with focus)... Once all the shooting was done, she was left with one hull! Next round, I played into an obvious bomb that caught both Fenn and Guri who ended up double stressed. The next rounds just showed me how slippery a k-wing can be, even with 3 agile ships chasing her. Fenn stayed alive for way longer than he should have but both him and Miranda died, leaving two full (or nearly) health y-wings against damaged Guri and Talonbane. When the dust settled, one y-wing was still on the table, as well as a one-hull Guri! A really great game. We both made some mistakes, but there was a lot of good flying and even more fun!! Last game was against Cai who was trying a new imperial list with Soontir, the Inquisitor and a new Lieutenant Kestal with ion turret. With both of our lists having 2 ps 9 pilots, and at 97 points, the initiate roll was probably the most important one... And I won it so could give Cai the initiative! I played Fenn Rau a bit too agressively which lead to a first round of shooting, range 3 with the Inquisitor, where Fenn lost half his life while doing no damage in return. I decided to try and run fast with Fenn to get into range 1 if possible in arc. Playing last would give me the opportunity to reposition if needed and not bumped. In the end, he ended up range 1 of Soontir with both in arcs, and range 1 from the Inquisitor but no arc from Fenn, so I took the TL on Soontir. And Fenn did Fenn things. On a natural hit-hit-crit-crit from Soontir, his evade from the title was joined by 3 natural evades out of 4 dice, evading everything! The return fire (5 dice with TL and focus) one shot a fully turtled up Soontir!! Meanwhile, Guri and Talonbane plink the shield and some hull from the Lieutenant, and Fenn lost another hull to the Inquisitor (evading the ion turret from Kestal). Fenn being still alive there was quite unexpected! Next turn, Cai got confused on the order of movements and bumped the Inquisitor on Fenn who talon roll to get a range one focus (thanks to Mindlink). Talonbane also as a range 1 or 2 (can't remember) shot. The Inquisitor goes down. End game: the Lieutenant ends up killing Fenn with his turret, but dies just after. This game really was about what I like in x-wing: flying and trying to guess one's opponent's strategy/moves, as well as crazy dice! I think we both did some mistakes, but the dice (including the initiative roll) won me the game. Cai is the perfect opponent: nice, cool and having fun while also putting everything in the game.
