Hammerhead scout can push out 4 red dice at long range for a measly 50 points with TFO and Slaved Turrets. One of them might not seem scary, but when you got 3 of em? That is a lot of long range dice.

Only in your own little delusional bubble. At this point, people have accepted the over performance of squads for far longer than it was denied. But you seem to want to continue to rehash something from three years ago. The fact remains the devs have tried time and again to reign in the worst archetypes. There's been a constant stream of upgrades and erratas that have weakened key squad heavy archetypes. Have they swung the pendulum hard enough? Probably not, but that doesn't mean they won't keep trying.
At the moment, Armada is not getting the frequent points rebalancing of Legion and X-Wing because they are constrained by the old contract for Armada, where every single FAQ (including the most recent one) has to go through a long approval process with Lucasfilm. I expect that will be changed in the near future. By my understanding, when the contract is renewed, Clone War offers the devs a chance to re-launch Armada in a great way. So rather than come in, start the same stupid fight you always have for the last three years, just calm down and enjoy the game. Or don't. No skin off my back either way.

Considering that there are 68 different squadrons and aces you can bring, if you are willingly ignoring that facet of the game, maybe you're just playing Armada wrong.  Like playing Starcraft but refusing to use any units that require gas because "I should be able to win with 'ling swarms against anyone."
"I can't?!?!?  Wow, way to make an unbalanced game, Blizzard."

It was pretty funny actually. Going up against an SSD/Goz with an Arq/Goz.
I was hoping he'd pick Rift Ambush or Infested Fields, but no luck.

@Bertie Wooster used his 283 point bid to take second and I chose his most wanted. The lone Arquitens was placed hiding behind some asteroids in the corner but the SSD was able to chase it down without overlapping any to take any crits. Ravager popped the gozanti end of turn 2 and put some damage into the Arq at long range and then finished it off top of turn 3 with a medium range shot. SSD takes no damage cards.

283pt bid!  Not funny for poor Mr Wooster, but I laughed at the turn of phrase.

Amusingly, our scheduled start time was 10:00pm EST (We actually were able to start a bit earlier) and the game was over at 10:08.
Good luck in the rest of the tournament MM! They won't all be this easy!

Yep. @MandalorianMoose said he wanted to show that he was better with Leia than @geek19, and even boasted that he could take three peltas to show up @shmitty and @rasproteus, because, and I quote here: "anyone can win with two peltas. It takes skill and finesse to do it with three."

Yea but if it starts at 11 regardless I’d have no incentive to try to stay above that... I could have focused on killing something and just survive with a few hull and start at 11 again... rather than repairing and starting the next round with what I ended at

Mhd picked first and chose my contested outpost. he killed my titus repair crew as the lone kill of the match which ends 120-29 to me. SSD has 13 hull remaining

Nathan v Sam ends with Warlord and the Arquitens destroyed and the SSD crippled but with no crits. I won the bid and picked his hyperspace assault. He dropped Warlord into my side arc while the ISD and Arq engaged head on. A series of devastating rolls took out Warlord and the Arquitens. Motti pulls his weight and prevents scarring on the ISD with faulty countermeasures and keeps both gozantis alive, one on 1 hull and the other with 3, both sustaining crits. Very fun game!

170-170, 6-5 to Nathan as second player
