If FFG were doing the right thing by the players, there'd be an add-on pack for core to get you to playsets of all the Investigator cards (possibly with additional copies of Neutral cards and basic weaknesses) without needing to buy an additional Core set.
In some of the LCGs, I don't overly mind the multiple Core model, but given you only need one set of the Mythos cards, there is a lot of wastage in buying two sets.
Though, having said that, it does seem to be the solution to what some of you were mentioning above about wanting the encounter sets for Dunwich in the Dunwich deluxe box...

We're on the same page. Geez everyone. We're getting a whole new wave a few weeks from now. Just because they decide not to fit in any "new stuff" announcements at Gencon doesn't mean they're not working on material. The game is clearly not their highest priority, but why would it be? They don't own the licence and a small number of people play it.
I'm going to enjoy for however long it lasts. I'm not going to SIMPLY switch to another FFG star wars game if that happens. So far none of them interest me the way IA does.
I'm going to post an interview with a designer and get some answers for us. I'm not afraid to ask tough questions.

Haha, I'm super excited for the Silas miniature with his washboard abs.
But, really, happy about the investigator selections. Agnes looks like a force to be reckoned with, and Trish has some great physical stats.
I'm not particularly looking forward to the deep one hybrid mechanic. I think actions are so restricted in MoM that I'm not entirely certain it'll be fun to have the mythos AND fellow investigators working against you. I wonder if there are going to be new rules for attacking other investigators? It's going to be real annoying if you just get into pushing battles where you end up pushing each other back and forth through fires.

I was really hoping for a Sefina mini though.

So do you want a 2nd edition or a campaign mode?
A campaign mode could very well be implemented within the current meta, as it was done (and enjoyably so) in the Saga expansions.

I'm pretty sure GW had exclusive rights to LOTR miniature games,  so FFG is actually not permitted to make them

Shironeko reacted to NoElf in Star Wars Co-Op, do you think we'll get it?
Just curious what people think about the Star Wars LCG being re-released in a co-op format? I personally would love it as due to work I now am out of the city and in country areas where apart from some magic players there is no competitive community for other games. Also as I get older competitive isn't something that interests me as much.
I also have no interest in Star Wars Destiny. Whilst I've heard great things the reason I got out of Magic years ago was it seemed like the card version of heroin so I avoid the CCG model altogether.
Some people have said that FFG already have Arkham Horror and LOTR. I have AH and admit it's great and I also love the LOTR setting but Star Wars is my main love. If they were to release a SW co-op I'd snap it up like hotcakes.
Keen to see what other people's thoughts are.

I would choose Imperial Assault over Legion because
    1. Imperial Assault is multiplayer (I don't get 2-player opportunities)
    2. can get straight to playing (no assembly required)
    3. boardgame with grid is exact (and I don't have space for the 180x90cm² terrain)
    4. three games in one (multiplayer campaign, 2-player skirmish, solo with the app - less solo without the app)
I would choose Legion over Imperial Assault because
    1. I already have all of Imperial Assault
But only you can decide depending on your local community and group.

Are they forcing you to buy it against your will or something? I don't get all the angst. If it's not ok for you and you hate FFG, then go buy some other game and for goodness sake don't hang out on their forums with all of their fans...

I think as a group we're all on the same page in that we don't need a lot of new content, the game already has so much, however we do still need at least SOME new content to keep driving the game , both skirmish and campaign.
Like I said above I think this is an anomaly in that the app has put things off kilter, however I do fully expect things to be changed now moving forward in terms of release. Sort of a "new normal" and we can expect 2018 to set those terms.
There is still a ton of great content to explore in the Star Wars universe with new content being made each year.

It's also new and shiny. If someone hadn't already bought into IA, they might buy into Legion. I'm not one of those people because I've already bought into IA, and I have no desire to play a 40K type game. I may end up getting some figures to add to IA, but not anytime soon. I don't want FFG to think that legion is selling better.

The two big problem Legion has is that:
    1. It is going up against the goliath that is 40k and the latest version of it has brought it back from the brink.
    2. A lot of disgruntled IA players who want to play campaigns not generic tabletop land battles

That's part of what I think will be an issue for Legion.  It's sort of marketed as a casual game, but it's not at all part of a casual genre.

I mean, it's possible to play with unpainted figures and minimalist scenery, but it's hardly a rewarding experience.  Compare that to IA which is certainly easy to play with unpainted figures and the tiles make the maps each unique- I know Legion is shiny and new, but IA is still easily the choice for anyone not wanting to completely devote themselves to a single game for a time being.

To date it only cost $800 retail to get a play set of this game. If you got years of play and joy out of it, then it’s likely one of the cheapest evolving card games ever on the market.

Yup. These guys nailed it. I think the ship has sailed for these kinds of games to explode into the market. I also agree with them that it won't encroach on IA. Such a different game of which guys like me have little to no interest in playing.

"Ideas to improve IA and how the community can assist?"

We can play more Imperial Assault. Reach out to new players and get them hooked on Imperial Assault. Organize gaming nights and mini-conventions etc. Writing new scenarios/missions and (for campaign style IA) create fan-made campaigns* Basically, we need to keep loving IA and suckering others into investing in it, and that's how the game will remain worthwhile for FFG to support for all time to come.

I personally am not the least bit worried about the current lull in support/advertisement for Imperial Assault. FFG is a business and right now they have to push Legion which they invested great hoards of cash into, so it's all hands on deck for that now. Behind the scenes (as we have had confirmed from a handful of different sources) new IA waves are coming along and IA releases will commence when the time is right for FFG. That, and FFG recently released the IA app.

So, keep gaming. Try that old box you've got sitting on the shelf again -- you know, that one mini-campaign or whatever that you haven't played since its original release, and have a jolly good fun with it together with some old and/or new IA fans, and that will make you feel better (Just to clarify, "you" here is not addressed to any person in particular; it's the collective specific "you" or whatever it is called [filthy foreigner writing here so what do I know about English? )).

Anyway, love the game and FFG will continue to love you.

*As for writing new campaigns, @IanSolo_FFG & I are working on a full fan-made campaign that plays with just the core set. We think that's a pretty good idea for supporting IA, to give potential investors a second campaign that they can play right off the bat with only that expensive initial buy-in product. And we all know what happens when someone finally decides to buy the IA core box... before long they throw all their cash at FFG (I myself bought IA Core in late July 2017 and by early December my gf and I were proud owners of everything IA... we didn't eat much that fall, but you know... priorities were made... mistakes were made... awesomeness were made... ).

For me legion does look enticing, but I don't have the time to paint/play the games I own already so it's an easy pass for me.
i also find very anti-thematic. Since when do the rebels wage open war against the imperials? It's calculated ambush style attacks. If they ever just decided to meet on the open field they would get crushed. Are we to just pretend the empire decided not to flex its full muscle and "give the rebels a fair shot!" At the fight by bringing equal numbers ? lol. The whole game concept to me is flawed.
but the frustrating part is watching it surpass IA pre release. I've spent a lot of my free time attempting to build a skirmish community in my area. I had limited success and I wouldn't really call it a community but at least if you really want a game there is an avenue to attempt. Now legion is already more popular with more players ready to go. So that really sucks and is frustrating to watch.
