  1. Because they're a fraction of that age.

It's a big universe with a lot of time line to play with. I'm sure there is a style of Imperium for everyone.
  3. I don't know about that man. Keep in mind that not only do the primarchs benefit from being heavily blessed by their chosen Chaos patron but they're all over 10,000 years old. In terms of xp, they'd have earned around 100,000. As an equivalency. Over ten millenia to hone their WS & BS, sharpen their Int, Will, and Per, and get literally stronger. Time wouldn't do much for their Agi, Toughness, or Fellowship (arguably) but they'd be near max on all stats surely. Plus all the unique abilities they'd be bound to have. They'd be far more dangerous than the greater Daemons which are statted out. Again I view it differently than you but hopefully this won't spiral into something ugly this time.
  4. They'd have to be nigh unkillable without weaponry usually reserved for a strike cruiser in orbital combat. Something crazy like To 100 unnatural toughness x3 and a Daemonic quality of 15. Then apply armor of 12 everywhere and you have to deal 58 points of damage to get the first point through. That's AFTER you take down whatever field they'd almost certainly have. And they'd certainly have Regenerate at varying degrees. Mortarion's would likely be highest at like 10. So without sanctified weapons with the felling quality you'd be unable to even hurt them. And they'd likely have their guards with them as well. That's freaking terrifying.
  5. Have any of them ever been statted out? Loyalist or traitor? Regular traitor or Daemon Prince version? Just curious.
  6. Nice. Good suggestions, thanks.

I do realize that yes. I was responding to him. I apologize as I thought that was evident.

Then how about you stop trolling me. Every time I post something there you are being a jerk and bashing everything I say. At this point you know we're diametrically opposed on our views and the only reason I can see for you to post on my threads is to be rude and argumentative.

Perhaps you should consider stepping back and no longer commenting on my threads. It's obvious you hate everything about the way I play 40k and that you and I will not see eye to eye. I didn't list everything I do to make things better but go ahead and assume away. Servitors still exist but they only use vat grown tissue to create them. Even the look of them is different. All metal housing, no grotesque flesh showing like a Frankenstein/steam punk fusion monster. Penal legions exist yes, but only the worst of the worst go to them. The longer life expectancy is more than offset by a higher quality of living. On an entirely unrelated topic would anyone happen to know if blocking someone prevents them from being able to post in your threads or just makes them invisible to you specifically?

In my games I improve the little stuff a lot. Life expectancy, no slavery except the penal legions, overall better level of tech and it's better understood. Servitors do most tasks that's unsafe and life is actually valued. The military ordos are less of a meat grinder. This apparently invokes a lot of nerdrage from some people here but they don't have to like it. I'm actually working on a fan fiction that brings one of the lost primarchs back. He'll bring a lot of hope and improved tech with him. I'm introducing the other lost primarch as a daemon prince. He'll be unaligned and an absolute terror.

I have to brighten up the game a bit. With all the darkness I see in real life I can't get into a grimdark head space. I'm on enough antidepressants already.

We enjoy different aspects of gaming then. I thoroughly disagree. Mostly because of all the stuff I see in real life. Gaming is my escape. When you have to treat a toddler who's had cigarettes put out on it it kinda makes you not wanna go to dark places anymore.
  13. I'll use a lot of that. Thanks.

I've just realized something. I love 40k. The technology, the characters, the powers, all the different species. But I think I hate grimdark. I like hope and possibility clearly defined good guys and bad guys. I like the good guys being every bit as powerful as their enemies. And I hate the notion of all powerful evils and irresistible corruption. For me, without hope of a meaningful victory,a permanent victory there is no joy in the game. No point in playing if every victory is just slowing the bleeding while waiting for inevitable defeat. Not just defeat but extinction and eternal torment. I've learned something about myself. Ill continue to play 40k, but it'll be a version of 40k 99% of the people would hate. And that's okay.
