For addition I'm running 3x ready for battle and 3x stand your ground
 
The counter to bowing is really useful and with stand your ground I've had a savvy politician stick around with 0 fate on her for 3 turns and honour something every turn which has proved to be a little rediculous 

As a member of the Non-Japanese Asian community, I've never found Banzai offensive. Silly, yes, but it served as a rallying chant for players to say: "We are L5R players, hear us roar!"
I miss it but I understand why it had to go. Personally, I find people going "I don't care Banzai can be considered offensive, I want Banzai anyway!" more concerning than a bunch of players yelling Banzai at the top of their lungs in the heyday of L5R.

I'm hoping that till they are a major clan they are splash cards. I'm not looking forward to the idea of minor clans being a focus of a deck, mantis will definitely get their major clan status but it' a case of how long it takes 

I hope they learned their lessons from it.
 
I would prefer a deluxe based on a theme for all clans than a clan specific box

Trouble I feel is at this stage of the game all the clans are fairly close and any clan specific deluxe box is going to throw that balance off for a fair amount of time it it's 1 or 2 a year that' still 3 years+ to fully balance out and that if we ignore the minor clans

That's true and the reality is often the devs will come back in an email with an answer that is RAW (an interpretation that is based on the rules as written) then later when the FAQ comes out they have changed that ruling to more accurately steer the game in the direction they originally intended.  I've seen that happen time and time again in Netrunner and Conquest.  So what they tell us now might not be how it works later.

I' rather have mantis  as a conflict influence but I'd like it to go to and event with clans going to vote for or against them to becoming a clan and then crushing them under feet and sink their boats

I like the concept, I would just change the packages into one box. I like the CCG feeling of the meta changing dramatically in one shot, it avoids delays (like the fact that my shop is still waiting for pack 2 and 3) and makes it simpler for new players to jump in.

True, but you also have that 6 month window following each deluxe box where the dynasty packs can shore that up and help balance out for the other clans. The real question will be HOW the deluxe boxes are done in L5R compared to GoT.
