Let's not allow this otherwise great community to descend into the toxic cesspool that is most of fandom these days. We've all seen countless websites collapse into flame wars and malice, so let's stay on target here, all right?
I try not to be toxic, and I've tried to keep my critical thoughts about The Last Jedi in check, but like Bitterman said, I'm sick of being referred to as a 'hater' a word devoid of any real meaning, because i don't genuflect to everything labeled Star Wars. Since 1977 have I watched Star Wars, my own council will I keep, on what I am to like. But, stay on topic? O.k. Here is a blurb from the official product page: "Imperial Assault puts you in the midst of the Galactic Civil War between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire." So, to stay on topic, can we stop having threads asking for things from the ST or the PT since, clearly, the game does not take place between the "Resistance" and "First Order" or between the "Republic" and the "Separatists." I suggest, since we like to tell people "go somewhere else on the internet;" that ya'll head over to the Destiny forums for your sequel trilogy fix.

All movies have problems, but there are problems, and then there are films which are poorly paced, agenda driven, lore breaking, plot hole cratered, groan inducing, internally inconsistent messes like the Nu Trilogy. People keep saying "I don't get the hate." Well, I don't get the love. They are bad movies. Not just bad Star Wars movies. The second one being orders of magnitude worse than the first. If it didn't have Star Wars stamped on the box, it would be about as popular as Jupiter Ascending, with similar critical acclaim. And, as bad Jupiter Ascending was, in a Clockwork Orange scenario, I'd much rather be tortured by it than TLJ. The purposefully campy silliness that was the 1980 Flash Gordon was a better, more cohesive, film than The Last Jedi. At least Flash Gordon didn't waste Max Von Sydow like TFA did. Ming was a superior villain to Ren, Snoke, and Hux , whose combined villainy quotient wouldn't surpass Lt. Harris in Police Academy on a chart of movie antagonists. Well, to paraphrase Han Solo, "...sorry about the rant."

That sounds like something to celebrate to me. I personally want nothing to do with this "Kelvin-esque" Star Wars, so-called, trilogy.

How much for your Return to Hoth and Jabba's Realm?

I live in one of the biggest Star Wars gaming communities in Canada. I play in the home of PTL (those of you who play X-wing know who they are) and the Armada World champ. Here are my observations:
1. Nobody plays competitive Legion.
2. Nobody I know plays Legion.
3. Legion gets played, but it's not that often and not by many people. (in fact X-wing folk get pissed when they take up 2 tables for their 2 hour+ games)
There does not seem to be any indication that any of this would change.
I haven't played it, but I read the rules for it. It does seem overly indulgent. While the miniatures are beautiful, I was surprised at their scale for land warfare game. The cost point is really high, and it is a game with an expectation out of the gate of an investment in miniature painting supplies and skill. Trying to break into the Rune Wars and War Hammer player base to sell them Star Wars seemed a fool's errand from the get go, but I wasn't sure.

While the quality of the game is certainly debatable, I enjoyed the Campaign mission in the recent Battlefront where you see an Imperial occupation of Naboo. It would be interesting if we could see some more of those locations visited with a Galactic Civil War twist, like Geonosis (another excuse to use CIS), Mustafar/Sullust, maybe even Kashyyk. It would also be cool if we got to see some brand new locations, never before seen in other media. If they can give it a great hook, it could be something special!
Also, I do personally find it funny that you have all these arrogant commanders in charge of Imperial High Command (Weiss, Sorin, Blaise). Military discipline and restraint is clearly not a virtue in the Empire
. For any new campaigns, it might be wise to stray from that archetype for a little while. I love the lore behind Binary Revolution for IG-88, and it could be cool to see that further developed into it's own storyline.
Han leading a revolt on Kashyyyk was part of the EU. They even features a campaign of missions in the old Star Wars: Battlegrounds RTS game, where Han, Chewbacca, Lando, Luke, and Attichitcuk liberate Kashyyyk from the remnants of the Empire. It would be a perfect place to incorporate both Imperial and Mercenary factions, like Bosssk, Trando Hunters, maybe some new Chiss ascendancy units, as well as Wookiee and hero allies, and to get tiles suitable for Endor and Kashyyyk. It was what the Battle of Endor should have been in Return of the Jedi.

And I know they are separate games, and that we have plenty of stormtrooper variant figures already, but I can't help but be a little jealous that Legion gets Scout Troopers before we do.
They weren't Teddy Bears. They were C.H.U.D. Cannibalistic Humanoid Under-canopy Dwellers. They were nightmare beasts of a horror movie.

The Vader/Obi Wan lightsaber duel is a much less epic version of the spear fight in Hidden Fortress. Not to say I didn't like the one in Star Wars, but later, when I saw that fight in Hidden Fortress I was awed.

Ah, that makes sense. So for one point you get 2 more health and can bring in up to 3 droids from other factions? It seems a bit ridiculous that it's a "mercenary" faction with more Rebels than Merc. I never bought a Jawa pack, so I guess i never realized how much more capable the eJawa were.

Is there a rules change I don't know about? How does one play IG-88 and temporary alliance and then have 4 Rebels in their team?

What is the IG Pirates list consist of?

We all know now who appeared in that movie.
So they need to tell the story how it happened. Why Sidious let him go and how he ended up leading the Crimson Dawn.
Knowing that half of it was told in the comics and those were made from the CW scripts it is totaly make sense
So i realy hope we not only will see the Sige of Mandalore but the Nightsisters as well.
And than imagine Nightsister Rancor Riders in IA.... omg
I know it is dreaming but thinking about a CW era Starting Set with Camino and Dathomir map tiles or Asajj Ventress make my heart race not to mention the ClankersI was huge opponent of introducing Darth Maul back in the timeline, but despite the dumbness of it, he has turned out to be one of the better villains out there. I wish Rebels' animation had been better, I don't know why they took away his raptor legs for just some plain looking ones, but the story of him trying to seduce Ezra to the dark side while using him to find Obi Wan was some of the better Rebels material. I too would like Filoni to bridge the two. I still hated that he was in Solo, because it was unnecessary fan service. I think it would be good to see him escape Palpatine's grasp once he has Darth Vader, maybe after Sidious is "captured" by the separatists. Speaking of that, the Samurai Jack cartoon dealt with Sidious' capture. I wonder if Filoni will do an episode that takes us right up to Revenge of the Sith. With Sidious away, Maul could have find a way to escape his grasp and fled to the outer rim to avoid him.

I hope you are incorrect in your analysis. They should have been here already. Certainly ahead of Dengar or the anti-R2-D2/C3PO nonsense that is 0-0-0 and BT-1.

5 minutes ago, Eddie said:To be honest, rancors are not native to Tatooine as well, though I suspect their survival rate will be higher in those conditions compared to wampas.
But I get what you are saying. Hope they fix the spawning or at the very least have a "redo random spawn button". Creating more realistic spawning should not be too hard though. Each unit can have several types (snow, forest, desert, interior and any combination of those types). Tiles have one of these types as well. When spawning, check if the unit has at least a type corresponding to any of the tiles in the mission.
Anyway, extremely happy that my favorite campaign gets an app release, even more that the missions are different than the campaign from the box itself.
Yeah, I think in the case of wampas, since the app changes abilities of the enemies sometimes, I don't think it would be that difficult to restrict certain units to exterior terrain that is fitting for them, i.e. Wampas, Tuskens, Banthas (though one could see Bantha outside Tatooine).

1 hour ago, subtrendy2 said:F I do kinda wish the app had the ability to toggle a disable for units that you didn't want to show up.
Not only would it help people who wouldn't want to play tokens for figures they didn't yet own, but it could help rule out some villains you weren't interested if you were wanting a more canon-friendly experience. For instance, I got Obi Wan as a random ally not too long ago, and while I don't mind, I could see that annoying some people.
And I guess that's not a perfect example because technically he's an easy one to toggle already, but point still stands in general.
I agree completely. The app is great, but when you click a box, it should just be for what's in the box, and leave it to click on or off the separate blisters, at least. A best system would be to allow you to shut off allies and villains you just don't want to see. The only problem i see with that, now that Jabba's realm is required for the latest app campaign, I'm sure said campaign will include units in Jabba's realm.

Poor thing was caged, rarely given a good pork dinner, mostly just boney dancers and never got to see the sun. Nevertheless he was a great guy that was loved by those that knew him best.
oh and Yay for more App material. It is slow coming but at least they got one guy working on it still.
Yeah, I'm sure a sinewy Twi'lek is nothing compared to a plump Gamorean. It's like eating a string bean and then being served a juicy pork chop.

Is there a way to have Captain Terro w/o the Dewback?

Question: What tokens and cards that are sold separately are in the Jabba's Realm box. Obviously Jabba, but is Captain Terro and the Alliance Rangers also in that box? They came out at the same time. I figure if I'm going to buy the box, I may as well get the figures that have tokens in it, because the app will make them appear, I've found.

And, at least in my experience, App missions seem to have a crap-ton more going on. I've never felt like the board was so crowded as I have in app missions.

I'm excited. I haven't bought Jabba's Realm yet, but this is a good excuse to do so. I know some might disagree, but I think this is a good method of giving your expansion some added value. I like the app because it can make changes to the cards on the fly with no need for a formal errata.
EDIT: I didn't realize until I reread it, that it was only 5 missions in the campaign, but, as they said, there are more missions for the purpose of re-playability. That is a little disappointing on its face.

Mass Effect Campaign - Work in progress

Great art work. As others said, good ideas. I think 100 credits is way to cheap for the predator. 3 attacks is pretty good. I can't wait to see more.
