  1. The game gives you ways to heal horror. Both in the equipment it will give you during the scenario, or in the cards themselves when you flip them. Not all the horror cards you are given are bad.
  2. I think you have misunderstood the cards. You don't end the game if someone completes what the card says. But if you complete the game, and at that stage, the insane investigator has managed to complete their goals, then they win. It gives you an edge on "do I trust them now or don't I?" - do you go with their suggestion, which seems reasonable, or are they only saying it so they can win the game? You dont know. But either way, the game doesn't end when they achieve a goal...
  3. Do we have an ideas / suggestions thread for future expansions? I couldnt find one, so apologies if I missed it. However - I would dearly love for them at some point to make the following from Lovecrafts books... Egyptian themed - new tiles are in a pyramid, exploring some of Lovecrafts books like Nyarlothotep Mountains of Madness - Lets leave the enclosed buildings, give us some outdoor themes - get us up in the mountains exploring one of the best Lovecraft books Ancient Aztec Ruins - exploring outside in the jungle, and inside some Aztec ruins, mazes and the like The Colour from Space - a farm based theme, exploring the outdoors, the meteorite remains, the farm house, the well.. or some of the great Arkham books they released recently, especially: Ire of the Void - have us following the story from the book (no spoilers here) but it would lend itself well to the Mansions system Dirge of Reason - exploring Arkham and investigating the problems from the story But generally, some open air, outside adventures would be great. I know its "Mansions" of madness, but the system you have would lend itself very well to outside gameplay if the tiles were done well.
  4. I hate dice. Every game has dice. If you want dice rolling, play... anything else!
  5. Mine turned up today (UK) - didnt expect it for a few days!
  6. Awesome, just got the update on ios too Cheers folks
  7. Just had notification from the delivery company that my pre-order of Streets will arrive tomorrow!! But there is no app update - so I can't play it! Has FFG said anything about this? Kind of annoying to have a game you paid for and not be able to play it...
  8. It's FFG. They would sell you their grandmother if they could fit her in a box with some custom dice, so rest assured you will get more terrain than your wallet can handle.
  9. I'm not sure "saving" would be the right word. I'm sure once they have exhausted all the popular, classic and much loved locations they will eventually move on to milking the new places.
  10. Took about 2 hours. We saw one monster. Was very underwhelmed.
  11. Wow, we had the complete opposite. Was over in no time, almost nothing happened, and the there was next to no challenge. Really not worth the money at all this one.
  12. This is correct. Surprised the mighty Julia didn't know this
  13. Bruce, this is fantastic! I am amazed at the lack of replies here. Question - how do we share the scenarios we make? And where are the scenario files kept? I'm worried I will build some, then update the program and lose the files! Can I back them up somewhere?
  14. Yes, sorry, edited. My apologies for misleading anyone or causing any issues. Not my intent. I hope the rest of the tips are useful, but I can remove the post if not.
  15. You may well be missing something, yes. We did the first time, and once you know the game you shouldn't be losing that much. Rules I missed, which made a huge difference included: The Push Action - it doesn't state this in the learn to play, but in the main Reference - you can take a push action and move another investigator, or a monster, away from you. If an investigator is close to death, moving them away is a godsend. Range - range does not count through doors! So, when monsters check range and move towards everyone in range, they can not do so through doors and walls! This saved our lives so many times! Move action - you can move 2 spaces per action not one Actions - you can do the same action twice Revealing Sight Tokens - you can reveal the sight tokens on the edges of the map just by being in the same area, you don't have to use an action Taking damage and insanity - note that the app will say to take "facedown" damage or horror, when this happens you do not need to read the card effects. Fire damages monsters as well as investigators. But you can put out fire with an action if you need to using an agility test and putting out one fire tile per elder sign rolled Using barricades - these stop monsters from getting through to you (depending on their rolls), and are invaluable yet often overlooked Trade action - Trade lets you swap ANY number of items, drop any number or items, or pick up any number. Finally, don't forget to negate all damage! Every Elder Sign rolled on the negate stage removes the damage - and remember to add in the modifiers from your cards. Mansions is not as hard as everyone says it is. I have only lost a few times, and those have been down to bad luck. Generally you can win if you remember all the available options you have an plan it out. There is almost always a solution to the problem!
  16. Hi, does anyone know the Chains that Rust Map tile numbers? I'm trying to organise my stuff and I cant find it listed anywhere Thanks
  17. This is FFG. If they can find a way to make money from us, they will. Expect the dice pack announcement any day now! Alternatively, spend a few bucks on some blank dice, mark them up like the MoM ones, and save yourself a fortune when they are finally released!
  18. All the scenarios work except the 2nd one which sometimes bugs out right at the end. So, yes, its quite possible to play it, and many have. And its very good.
  19. Each investigator must resolve the two points listed in the ref guide, thus you start with Investigator A, select the monster, resolve the check; then you tap on Investigator B and resolve the sequence again, and so on. So each investigator resolves a different check Thats incorrect. Refer to Page 10 of the reference guide, Horror Step, bullet point 3 - "If multiple investigators would resolve a horror check against the same monster, those investigators all resolve the same horror check". They do no not all resolve a different check as you have stated.
  20. Roll your skill plus 1 dice. See "tests" in the reference guide, the very first point, bullet point 2.
  21. Yes, many many reports of it crashing. It has crashed for me twice in the same location, 2 hours in. I would avoid this one. I have had no crashes with story 1 and 3. Story 4 has had a big crash reported at the end as well. FFG confirmed a new patch is incoming later this week
  22. I trimmed the pegs of mine, painted the models, and then glued them to the bases - which is what I did with the previous versions too.
  23. This is the bug that everyone else is getting. The Patch (Steam yesterday) was supposed to fix it but it didn't. The iOS update is not available until at least Tuesday (source - FFG Twitter)
  24. Oh, why didn't I think of that! /sarcasm off - they have been sent many emails about this in the last 24 hrs from many people.
