For me personally the game has already peaked model wise (except a SSD but that's unlikely to happen). The movies are everything Star Wars to me and I just cant get excited about the Pelta class or whatever. But I realize that others might be coming from a totally different perspective and that's fine. I think the game is doing fine and if X-wing is any indication people will buy the EU stuff.

Play smaller games. 150-200 points. Maybe just one or two capital ships and some squadrons. Light on upgrades. While the tactics part might be too much to grasp easily the rules are not too complicated. I play Armada with my 7yr old daughter sometimes. I mean, if she's into Star Wars somewhat then why not? If she more of a Risk/Monopoly player then no.

Super Star Destroyer discussion thread

Thank you Vykes for your SSD mock. I had no idea it would look that great. I would prefer it just slightly longer but I would definately buy one if the opportunity would present itself. -
I cant say I was disappointed. Honestly I had no expectations at all. For me model-wise Armada has already peaked. I have no interest in further EU ships or flotillas or anything like that. Rules-wise I think intel, rogues etc is about as far as you could push it before we see models/builds phased out. But that's just me.

Those lists look like pretty much what you asked for Lord Ashram. I would add Han Solo and Boba Fett for flavour. Just straight up add them and the lists will remain equal points.

Good stuff. Ordered corners and range rulers. I went with translucent amber. -
Neb Bs are Imperial too and it's ticking me off
Thesoundofmusica replied to Nagababoon's topic in Star Wars: Armada
I agree that mot people's notions come from the movies, and that the EU has been de-canonized. What does that matter? Are you arguing against stuff that FFG did bring in from the EU? Do you only play with ISDs when playing Empire? Simply that what is true for Nagababoon isnt true for everyone. In his immediate surrounding I'm sure most people are well-versed with the EU, but that is hardly true for most people outside that small group. I completely understand FFG making the Neb a rebel only ship. -

"Like most people" No, I'm sorry but most people's notion of Star Wars comes from the movies. -
The Clonisher- an analysis of threat radius
Thesoundofmusica replied to DUR's topic in Star Wars: Armada
So you trade a ship for demolisher. Not a huge deal considering you likely have some sort of list left while your opponent has raiders. I'm not looking for any kind of setup that will reliably beat the Clonisher list, that's a waste of time and building your list too narrow, but will settle for 50-50 shot really. I think it's too early to call a significant meta shift unless we actually start seeing Clonisher lists pop up everywhere. So far I havent seen one. Also you will only actually have to beat a Clonisher list with certainty if you're entering a bracketed tournament. The WC is the only bracketed tournament I've ever seen. This is all blown way out of proportion. -
Nav Team + Ozzel
Thesoundofmusica replied to Blail Blerg's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
Ah yes the direction of the argument changed somewhat into the thread it seems. So is there an order of playing upgrade cards? Assuming you played 1 nav token: What makes you resolve Nav team before Ozzel to reach 0+1 speed and 1 yaw? Resolving them simultaneously you'll end up with 1+1 speed OR 1 yaw. -
Nav Team + Ozzel
Thesoundofmusica replied to Blail Blerg's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
You're only issuing a single command even though you're using both dial and token. I dont see how Ozzel could grant an additional speed on both the dial and token when his card specifies "resolves a navigate command". Or was that not the issue here? -
Home One and Independence same ship
Thesoundofmusica replied to Replicant253's topic in Star Wars: Armada
I think they know. The titles are meant to reflect the roles of the ship in different settings I think.
