Again you are comparing a lone AT-ST to a Saber supported by other units.
You also ignore the fact that Saber rockets have cycle,  which makes his damage output uneven (which was taken into account by @5particus if you had bothered to actually read his post).

The problem with Weiss isn't the cost, it's his useless ability and the fact that the Imperial Hammers pilot is stapled to both vehicles.

Apparently it has been two years since I've written a list building article.  Time for a redux.
Taking a look at some basic list building concepts for competitive play.

    I know this is a Kallus/Lando thread but since Vader is also being discussed I think there's one simple fix for Vader;
Implacable doesn't do any damage and Vader's 2nd Implacable activation isn't limited to 1 action. This makes up for him using 1-2 other turns moving speed1 into a good position and makes his Implacable turned feared as it should be. Master of the Force 1 would be great.
    Seems like the perfect solution.

He does have a point here, though.
No matter what the flaw card does, it is something the opponent can use to throw a wrench in your plans. It is a built-in drawback that should be somehow compensated by his stats and cards. So far, I don't see that. Kallus is neither a good support piece (like Veers or Krennic) nor a good combat character (like Iden) and he has a flaw card on top if that.

Hard pass. Physical rules would likely lead to reduced FAQs (as they invalidate the purchase) and it is unnecessary. Given the keyword system of Legion, it was also reduce the ability for the designers to play in new spaces on the fly.

As others have asked for numerous times, just make a printer friendly version of the PDF, and everything will be great.

I would never pay for a physical RRG given that they release a new one every 3-4 months and it's totally free. I have been known in the past to take the pdf to a print shop and have them print and bind it for about $5, but I'll probably never do so again.

Also, I'm not sure what all the "new wizard rules" are.

they do comparable damage against red saves, the AT-ST gets slightly more damage on average 2.81 vs 2.72 (because of the surge), the Saber gets slightly more against Red saves with armour 2.67 vs 2.40 (because of the increased impact), the difference is tiny for a one shot comparison, if you go for a 2 shot average comparison then you start to see a difference because the Sabers missiles are on cycle, you cannot fire them every round.
Over 2 turns the AT-ST does an average of 5.62 damage against red saves and 5.34 against red saves with armour. A Saber will do only 4.49 damage against red saves and 4.17 damage against red save with armour, this is clear advantage to the AT-ST.
    (averages done on https://swlegion.space/ )
The other main difference between the units comes when you look at their defense, the saber has an effective health of 18 whereas the AT-ST has an effective health of 16.5, this is the advantage that the saber has over the AT-ST
Taking both of these together, in a one on one and just shooting the Saber would take an average of 7.9 rounds to kill an AT-ST, an AT-ST would take an average of 6.7 rounds to kill a Saber,
This is reflected in the costs of these builds, 180 for the Saber (saber with AP Shells) and 190 for the AT-ST (AT-ST with Hammer Pilot and 88 twin light blasters) as i think that these are the best builds for these platforms for killing other heavies.
In summary, anyone saying that the Saber does way more damage and kills the AT-ST every time is talking out their butt and has no idea what they are on about.

I'm not sure I would take an imperial tank without the hammer pilot.
Weiss at 1 and field commander gives just enough incentive to cripple your tank and maybe just put linked targeting on it and bossk and running your army light on characters

Royal guards can lock Vader down for several rounds, plenty of time for the rest of your units to secure objectives.  They have the same health as Vader and the immune pierce keeps them alive incredibly long.  I've even played a few games where royal guards took down Vader.  They are, at least for me, the absolute best unit for dealing with lightsaber dudes

Those are actually pretty reasonable suggestions. I always thought he should have surge: crit on attacks, it would make his saber throw better able to get through cover, and reward you for getting him into melee.
I like the idea of Armor 1 as well, since he is mostly droid.

Because I like them aesthetically, dont think they should be the absolute worst faction, and think the game could be a lot better balanced than it currently is?
Why? Vader doesnt have more than 3 (maybe 4) command cards that are worth using anyway so contingencies doesnt really help him. Kallus certainly doesnt fix whats massively wrong with Vader either. Theres still no real reason to use Vader.
Vader is completely gimped compared to the speed-2 jedi that other factions get.
Vader being speed-1 is also relevant to what I was saying about Kallus having a flaw card. When you have a major downside like speed-1 or a flaw card there should be some kindve additional advantage bestowed to that character to offset them having a downside. Otherwise that character just ends up being worse than other characters that dont have those downsides.
I have no inherent issue with Vader being speed-1 other than the fact he doesnt seem to get any advantages to make up for being speed-1. Hes just straight up inferior to other jedi characters like Operative Luke or Anakin. Which is sadly the case for a lot of imperial units.
I dont think its wrong to expect Vader to be a good character. He is Vader afterall. Theres no excuse for him being as bad as he is.

Fixing Vader isnt that hard either.
    1) the implacable command card should no longer wound Vader. implacable isnt really that much better than son of skywalker that it needs to wound vader.
    2) give both commander and operative vader +1 training slot each so they have 4 upgrade slots like every other jedi seems to get except Vader for some unknown reason.
    3) give Vader armor 1 and immune: impact. Guy is a half cyborg in an armored suit why doesnt he have armor 1? Vaders way too easy to kill and armor 1 would help with that somewhat.

It will be interesting to see what contingency really do and how well it will work.
I start to feel that we have a real bloat in the commander slot for empire/rebels. So many options at 100 ish points and it's gonna be hard to get a good internal balance.

costi got a reaction from Erichxzann in How do you deal with Saber Throw Vader in Skirmish?
Well, there is also the option of tarpitting him - throw a squad (preferably a damaged one) into melee with him so he has to waste actions dealing with them. Or bring Royal Guards.

Also, cover. Saber Throw doesn't ignore cover,  so against heavy cover he can kill 1 guy, tops.

Why?  This is really good at hunting vehicles imo. 9 dice and impact 4 is no joke.  If you want something that wipes out a vehicle in one turn then you really don't vehicles in the game, and that's a whole other problem.
AtSt does great at killing infantry.  Every time I play it, it literally erases units.  It does really well at putting wounds on characters and getting up high over a lot of cover.
This has very little to do with Weiss being a field commander though.  Weiss being a field commander helps with not having to take a commander and putting those points into other units.  Imperials could use that.  I hope they release more command cards (CIS and GAR will get more vehicle help via command cards in a couple of months)

The lroblem is that the AT-AT will either be too big to be practical, or will be shrunk so much it will look silly (and will still be impractical because of its height).

I'd love a 6mm or 10mm game fir large scale battles, with X-Wing ships used as air support.
