I don't understand the idea that Tauntauns either have no cover or total cover (LOS-blocking). What kind of tables do you play on?

Also, getting a free dodge out of a move IS action economy, because other units hve to spend an action to get that Dodge token. The comparison with bikes is not that good IMHO - while bikes do get Cover 1, they need to spend one of their actions to get the benefit of both Dodge and cover (and it's even more difficult to claim cover from terrain for them). So, comparing actions of the two units, the bikes can do one of the following:
    - move twice and get a single Dodge
    - move once, get a Dodge and attack
    - move twice and attack

On the other hand, the Tauntauns can:
    - move twice, get two Dodges and attack

Also, the Tauntauns can be Engaged, which is the best shooting protection the game has to offer.

Are you trying to argue they do not have better action economy?🤔

They can still climb/clamber, which is stupid as all ****, and they can get a free pivot whenever they activate, so "cornering" has never been an issue.  And even if they are forced to stop, how does it really matter?  They still get a free dodge and free shot, if they so desire.
I don't get the damage output argument.  He throws what, 1 red, 4 white?  Without the massive stack of aims he gets once, he only does one or two damage on average.
And I think I should state that my problems with Tauntauns aren't because I'm afraid of them or have a problem playing against them; I've lost (to the best of my recollection) one game where they were invovled, and that was when I was first testing out the Clones.  My problem is they have ridiculous action economy for what the are, and there is no reason for it.  Little things like climbing and clambering are just dumb, as is the their ability to be so defensive.  They're the biggest example of power creep in the game, and I don't understand why everyone is so on board with it.

Another unit I couldn't care less about.  Good to those that want another Luke, but I still want to know why they decided to go with these now, and not give units to the factions that actually need them?  Pretty bad that CW will need to wait 6 months for their first heavy options, but by golly, we'll rush a second Luke and Vader out!

Considering the K-wing SLAM and Bomb debacle this is quite minor.

Well I’m not sure where I come down on the TaunTaun debate, but I do think it’s curious that the name Tauntaun sounds like the music for Jaws.
    Taun...taun... taun...taun... taun...taun.

They can still get cover, and it stacks with the dodges.  Since they can theoretically get 3 dodges, and combine that with cover 2, they still can be ridiculously hard to root out.  Oh, and add on to that hyper defense is the ability to move and shoot while gaining said dodges.  If that's not a ridiculously good action economy, I don't know what is.

I have seen systems that just give penalties to shooting certain weapons in certain situations (engaging in melee, fighting in rainy weather, the operator is feeling a bit gassy that day), at which point is turning into a simulation/rpg less a simplish tabletop game.
Honestly, I think the "easier" fix is to force Creature Troopers to Disengage to get out of melee combat rather than allowing them to freely move out of combat.  This represents the difficulty of getting out of melee range with infantry grabbing onto tack, mount, and rider. But yes, in a game where actions are precious, a unit that can effectively take SEVEN actions in a single turn, and is a new unit type with few downsides (not being able to interact with some objectives), is a bit of a conundrum on how to effectively  and consistently deal with it using a similar number of points.

I'll agree with this, at least for other units.  The unit engaged still shouldn't be able to shoot, but there's no reason why Tauntauns should get all the benefits of melee, but none of the downsides.  Balance and game issues aside, it just doesn't make sense.

Fleets generally cost around points per point of average damage and are the most point efficient unit in the game (as of a month ago, I was off comm for a bit).
Pre change T47 was 46-183 points per damage.  I'll update the tables later for new units and point changes.

Oh @Derrault; my first thought when I saw the news article was that I couldn't wait to see how your cognitive dissonance manifested around these changes.  So, question for you.
May I please ask that you clarify what you mean when you say the changes are temporary?
Are you asserting that the point values that were changed will revert in a year or that they will be changed to different numbers in a year?  Are you ruling out the possibility that these particular point values will stay static (in whole or in part) and that sometime in 2020 we might see changes to other numbers, perhaps for units we haven't even dreamt of yet?
Also, what is the purpose of your mantra that they are only "temporary"?  Will you stop playing the game until they are no longer able to change the numbers?  Will you stop opining on things because everything is fleeting and all is impermanence?  Or is this just a way to rationalize that even though there was metaphorical graphite on the ground and the RBMK reactor did explode, you were right all along and continue to be right that nothing is wrong and there is no possible way to gather enough data about the units for the purposes of game design and re-design?

Totally agree with this. In fact I'm not sure why people have said they are temporary? To my knowledge there is nothing official that says the changes are temporary.
They said they would review it annually and change as needed to balance the game.  To interpret that as a temporary change seems crazy to me!

Removing that stupid grey background on the pages would make it printer friendly. This is hardly difficult to do, but something they are incapable of doing for some unfathomable reason. If they are not going to issue new cards then an easy to print replacement on a pdf would be nice as well.

I'd say the biggest bully in this thread is you; for whatever reason, you seem to want to personally insult everyone here for any number of reasons.  I hated the sequels with a firery passion, and then to think that indeed, Rey is a Mary Sue.  I also don't care about GW games or enjoy constantly hearing "well, in XXX game we could do this, Legion should do the same."  That said, there's no reason to be as coarse, rude, and insulting as you are here.  I can't say I've ever reported a post on here before, but I have now.

If speeders want to be faster, yes they can go significantly faster but if they want to attack at all, they are going the same speed as tauntauns. Speeders get 2 speed 3 moves, then can attack with no aims or dodges. Tauntauns, on the other hand, get that same 2 speed 3 moves, 2 dodges, and a free attack action with sharpshooter. Granted speeders have the ability for a further move, and have range 3 over 2 but the comparison still isn't great. I don't think speeders need to be buffed to equal to tauntauns, I just think considering all the comparisons, they should not cost the same and speeders should get a pts decrease.

Some of you GW 40K obsessives give those poor guys wanting FO/ Resistance Legion material a bad name. The genuine cinema goers who became interested in Legion believing there may be an opportunity to game with miniatures some TLJ stuff with friends and family are overshadowed by two groups.
One group has a continued obsession with trooper outfits/military uniform/40K lore and all the chapter BS not wanted here. You guys encourage dissent with elitist spending pattens learnt from consistent Stockholm syndrome response to GW methods.
Tauntaun, you seem to want to break Star Wars discussion like Holdo ramming a radish at light speed into a big *** FO mother ship...the traditional Star Wars rules of engagement were broken and something strange had some viewers upset.
I do not give a toss about your non Star Wars escapades unless they have direct relation to a topic...
Be nice and take the self serving elitist attitude about what a wonderful non FFG product was/is/did for you away from these boards. It is a waste of space methinks...
The second group are the ideological fans of the force is female marketing crew who decry the opponents of TLJ failures such as the immersion breaking  Holdo manoeuvre, Death Star reskin or heroine Rey Mary-Sue trope as some sort of female hating nerd. These folk take outrage to anew level ini an attempt to self soothe.
These two have sort of merged into a mishmash of wants reflected in the need to purchase new shinies...
Actually, there is another bunch I have spotted here, but am gathering more research material...LOL

So I’ve been rewatching TCW animated show and there are some awesome bounty hunters. My favourite, by far, has to be Cad Bane. I’ve heard some people don’t think much of him and they seem to think Boba is the greatest. Don’t get me wrong I do think Bobs is cool, but what did he do? Captured Solo, fought a Jedi and wound up in a Sarlacc pit. Cad Ban on the other hand, held the Republic senate hostage, stole a holocron from the Jedi temple, kidnapped the Republic Chancellor, stole the kyber crystal that had a list of all force sensitive children on it from a Jedi, fought Kenobi and Quinlan Vos to a standstill, and broke out of a Republic prison. What more does he need to do to be considered at least on par with Boba?
Aside from Bane, there is Latts Razzi, Embo, Aurra Sing, Sugi and even Ventress to name a few of my favourites. Clone Wars has a ton of bounty hunters to bring to Legion and I can’t wait. I just hope some of them end up on the Republic side. And before you say, “the Republic didn’t hire Bounty Hunters”, take a look at Bric and El-les, who were employed by the Republic to train the clones. Unfortunately most of the others will be on the CIS side of things, but some of them have worked with the Republic or Jedi before, like Embo and Sugi.
Are there any Bounty Hunters you want to see? If so, why?
