There was, at the time, apparently good reason to discard them in favour of the versions that were used. Recycling them is missing the point.

The gist as I get it is that the card instructs '1 Energy, 1 additional die', you only get one use of an effect per opportunity, and there's only one opportunity because the Corvette only has a single primary attack (though I guess Gunner would do it, can't recall if that's excluded from Huge ships).

I can't help but think that huge-ship cloak would involve energy somehow. What if it required, say, 5-6 energy to initiate the effect,so it wouldn't be an action but would have similar timing? Could even allow movement shenanigans with that requirement.
