    Not very enlightening, but that's the only public statement I know of.

     

    I chatted with Tipperary a bit on Vassal after the ban but didn't get much more out of him than that, I think some of the BKL (which I assume is Black Knight Leader) posts he took umbrage to got deleted as well. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

     

    R.I.P. prequel ships ;_;

    Pretty unlikely, it's got the upgrade slots to very versatile even if the statline and dial are only half good.

    On full Rage-Out, you have up to 5 4-dice Focus/Reroll attacks, 3 of them with Crack Shot, with 1 3-dice attack.  It's much more likely that some are outside of Range 1, but you're looking at 1-rounding a Ghost, even in sub-optimal situations.

    Is it worth losing the initiative bid and Scourge (or Mithel) to put epsilon leader in the group?  with Youngster's range requirement you're already in close - and now you're able to more easily deal with the double stress.

     

     

    Can Youngster actualy give Quickdraw Rage??? I don't think Tie/SF counts as Tie Fighter.

    typecasting doesn't care about contiguity.

    Free evade tokens? Maybe it's just me but it feels like those are getting thrown around quite a bit nowadays. And B-Wings aren't really known for evading fire so I'm not exactly sure it's....flavorful.

     

    I dunno, the amount of ISD fire those things dodged seems like it should be worth it.

    These things make me sad. That is all.

    Funnily enough there's not actually anything in the TOS preventing duplicate accounts. I presume dupes that engaged in whatever got the original banned would also be banned, but aside from that it's not like the forums have a lot of moderation (which I guess Joe is a continuing example of *shrug*)

     

    I'd talked to Tipperary a bit both before and after the ban, I think he burnt out afterwards and stopped playing. Certainly hasn't kept up the What We Know posts on the blog he made after, or done anything with prequel ships. :(


  6. While I appreciate your posts from time to time, you're kind of reaching a new level of incoherence here. You couldn't have just posted, "Anyone else get upset that the new article was just a 'fluff piece'?" That would have been easily understandable to everyone here and provoked some discussion, instead of what we go there.

    If he made normal posts he wouldn't get attention.

  7. Okay, JBR7 has finally descended to PGS's level of pointless "contributors"

    That seems to have already been the case, at least PGS cares enough to talk about the game, where this guy seems to think the forums are his own personal Facebook page.

     

    (note that I've had him blocked so I'm just guessing from reactions in this thread that he's as usual making awful posts totally unrelated to the game)


  8. Nice, although I also get annoyed at all this EU/Legends/canon/not canon/but now it is stuff.

    Regarding the game I thought it was pretty terrible, although it looks fantastic and sounds awesome. The gameplay just needs a complete overhaul in general.

    Why get annoyed? It was never canon, any of it, as demonstrated by Lucas' interpretation of Mandalore.

    The team in charge of lore actually gives a ****.

     

    I feel like Wendig being approved at all puts the nails so deep into that particular coffin that whoever pulls them out would be crowned Queen of the Naboo.

    One example out of the various really good ones?
    More "mediocre" than "really good", though I'll grant that the EU has the same issue, we've just had time to pick out all the good stuff and nucanon isn't there yet.

  10. I was hugely excited when I found out about this a few days ago, so I'm glad to see I'm not alone!  

     

    This is by far the best set of maps for Fighter Squadron mode (though it still controls wonky, IMO).  I highly recommend Battlefront plus this expansion to any fan of online shooters and Star Wars.  

    Unfortunately it's so heavily casualized that it makes Rogue Squadron 2 look like DCS:A-10.


  11. its worth noting that adding dice to a pool (range1, pilot abilities, opportunist) before you actually roll are NOT considered modifying dice and cancelling a die isnt modding either.

     

    Snapshot doesnt get range1 obviously because secondary weapon but you can add dice to it via Jan Ors, Mauler Mithel, Scourge, or Zeta Leader to name a few as they are adding dice to the roll and not to the result. Omega Leader points this out because otherwise his ability would deny range benefits.

     

    Probably not worth adding a die to it though since it cant be modded, and only ship that can get Opportunist + Snapshot are Awings (which severely suffer without PTL imo). **** straight im putting that on Mithel though...i use him and Scourge quite a bit because they tend to do a sneakily amount of damage and catch people off guard a LOT for some reason.

    Mauler/Scourge/Zeta+Snap Shot actually sound great, every die you add is statistically better than the naked greens your opponent is rolling.


  12. ^26pt Tarn is looking pretty great, though only rerolling 1 die is kind of meh - I had an opponent practically pulling his hair out last week after converting something like three 2-hit/crit attacks in a row into full blanks.


  13. Ionization removing armour is kinda weird thematically - I do agree that there should also be a way to modify the movement (Maybe copy the 'don't assign a dial' part of Ion tokens, but not the 'perform a 1-straight' bit).

     

    e: I was mildly skeptic about the inverted base inserts (and the firing arcs colors could probably be flipped), but that would look perfect with a snowfield table!


  14. I'm not totally sold on some of the cards, but the base differentiation mechanics look great!

     

    Should AT-ATs be Armor 2? Snowspeeders shouldn't exactly be able to damage them without lucky crits (though Hull 12/Armor 2 would be mildly obscene I guess).

     

    8x Snowtrooper+HLC seems like it would be a barrel of laughs.

     

    It's not really possible without a bunch of photoshopping, but I feel like Ground units should have something like the Epic range-box for primary weapon, rather than listing a bunch of special rules.

     

    Unstoppable for the AT-AT is kind of weird, because flying vehicles should just be able to climb over it, but trying to adjust the bases is physically tricky. What if flying vehicles adjusted like a normal bump but kept their action, and Ground units got deleted?

     

    I feel like the Rebel emplacements ought to not have a 'pilot name' at all, just a type. Type+name for different statlines makes sense for ground troops since I guess you want to be able to typecast them for upgrades.
