  1. Yes-ish, it is mentioned very briefly at the end of the Wraith Squadron cycle of the X-Wing novels. One of the crew members is an ewok!

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Donoslane_ExcursionsOkay, not really smugglers, but the lines are pretty blurry in the Star Wars universe.

To note - the Wraith's shuttle Narra was originally used by an Imperial officer-turned-smuggler - it's got a Falcon-style contraband hold under the floor.

  2. Page 14 of the TFA core rulebook:

"When a ship executes a maneuver, if its base or maneuver template overlaps..."

    Tractor beam reference:

"This is not an action or a maneuver..."

Maneuver is the key. Overlapping only triggers the damage roll if it occurs during a maneuver, and debris tokens have a very specific timing window that the stress assignation can occur in (after the Check Pilot Stress step but before the Perform Action step), so neither damage nor stress will be assigned if you tractor a ship onto a rock.

(asteroids do prevent firing regardless of when you move onto them)

Hard to get worse than that.

Pretty much any murderer is worse than that.

And Xizor's the head of one of the biggest and most powerful criminal organizations in the galaxy. Mistresses that have refused to accept that he has dumped them, have ended up being mixed with construction materials for buildings on Coruscant.

It seems highly probable that he arranges murders (and that Black Sun does a lot of murdering in the course of their other criminal enterprises).

I'm not saying Xizor's not bad, just that it's silly to pick **** as an example of 'hard to get worse than that' when talking about a character who most commits crimes worse than that.

I disagree. Xizor leaves his conquests broken and ruined from his attentions and his dark whims. That, IMHO, is as bad as arranging deaths or profit or convenience. R*** is a violation on a deeply personal level, which is difficult even for the strongest and most supportive to recover from. That puts him right up there with Palatine and some f the Sith Marauder Lords in my book.

Contrast with death, which cannot be recovered from.

  6. Rather sadly, Greedo specifies "The first time you attack".

Therefore, the splash damage that occurs outside the attack doesn't get to use his ability, even if the assault missiles hit only Shields on your Hit victim.

It seems like AM deals splash DURING the steps of the attack, though. Greedo doesn't, strictly-speaking, refer ONLY to damage from the attack's dice, it only cares if a card is dealt during the attack.

  7. My first thought was no, but Greedo specifies "while attacking", not "the defender".

Assault Missiles says "if this attack hits". The step where that is determined is the "Compare Results" step, so in theory the AoE damage from the missile should happen then.

Strict RAW seems to imply that the face-up card would have to be one of the AoE cards (unless no AoE happened, or the AoE was on shields), since the missile's main damage waits to happen until the next step.

  8. As much as I like Deadeye for the targeting freedom, I've been looking at Mindlink in combination for swapping one of the Scouts to Manaroo:

    http://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Scum%20and%20Villainy&d=v4!s!174:176,58,1,-1,121,-1:-1:25:;174:176,58,136,-1,121,-1:-1:25:;173:176,136,-1,-1,121,-1:-1:25:&sn=Crimson%20Typhoon

Can also run with EM over Flechettes, I just wanted a control element.

The Mindlink+Manaroo+R4 combo makes it not really care about potential stress, even the R3-A2/Tactician downside of spread stress gets countered as soon as 1 ship takes a green since R4 guarantees focus>targetlock anyway. This also gives BR a higher duty cycle for blocking and shot setup.

  9. I think you're better off with Agromech, freeing a single ship to take focus gets you F+TL mods across your JaegersJumpMasters.

    A thought, though:

Dengar's a veteran, Manaroo's got blue hair. They rescue an AustralianKiwi from a tentacle-hairedtentacled monster, during a plot that results in significant explosive damage to an Imperial monstershipyard dimensionplanet.

    I like OP's reference.

  10. I have one ship done.  Rexler Brath is flying the "Ultima Ratio".  Those familiar with the phrase can see how far many domains of nerd-dom I'm hitting with this act (my wife counted 6).

Hmm.  I got the Ultima games, Final Fantasy games and...math?  I dunno.

    Snow Crash?

  11. Not that Google counts as digging, but I found this:

    http://tripperary.blogspot.com/2015/12/hi.html

Nice catch. Ya, he really hated JoeBoss. So much so that his signature leads to a script you can input to block his posts entirely it looks like. Probably something that happened there I'd guess. Joe can get a bit overwhelming at times... I mean, a lot of the time, but, I'm guessing he'd have to do something pretty substantial to get the boot.

Wonder if he has joined on an alt account yet. Is there anything barring him from doing so?

I looked pretty thoroughly through the EULA when I joined, there doesn't seem to be a proviso against multiple accounts.

Looking at that blog though, it seems like he wouldn't be back, as an alt account wouldn't let him update these posts.

  12. Page 14, swx36_rulesreference.pdf:

"When a ship executes a maneuver, if its base or maneuver template overlaps an obstacle token, it executes its maneuver as normal but suffers an effect based on the type of obstacle:"

Since tractor beam does not force the ship to perform a maneuver, no damage roll occurs and no damage is taken. When the ship performs a maneuver next turn, it would roll for damage and lose its action if the template overlaps.

    Same page:

" While a ship is overlapping an asteroid, it cannot perform any attacks."

This is not timing-restricted to the activation phase, so a ship that tractor beam forces onto an asteroid IMMEDIATELY becomes unable to fire.
