Hey DA,
I'm a little confused by one of your upgrade cards:
Bail Organa reads "Before choosing a friendly ship to be activated, you may exhaust this card instead."
I'm afraid I don't understand what the intent here is.

Traditional being TIE Bomberball?

Rhymer Balls, both Vanilla and Cinnamon
Motti Walls of Pizza.
Can I get a translator, table three?
Still getting used to the terms you guys use

Ámazon prime is the largest adult decision that I regret...
I got my hands on an MC80 recently, I think it was worth the investment.

I have two core sets and so I have a spare set of objectives I can live without
-
At 2 points I would consider it, but the problem is the current effect is pretty restrained. The problem is the Point Defense Reroute only works under the following circumstances:Cluster Bombs. . . . Worst. Card. Yet.

Did you forget about me?
At what point cost would this be worth it to you. That is the question with these cards. The idea can be decent or good but the cost makes it unpalatable. I think for 2 points this becomes very attractive.
- The player spent the points and the open offensive retrofit slot on it instead of something else (I know it's obvious, but it should be stated)
- The ship it is on is attacking squadrons with flak
- Those squadrons are at short range
- The ship rolls a crit on a dice and does not want to keep that roll (so... not a black dice)
I'd simply errata it to "While attacking a squadron at close range, (crit icon) adds one point of damage to the result." This improves the blue dice average damage from 0.5 to 0.75 and improves the black dice average damage from 0.75 to 1.00. I'd definitely consider this kind of upgrade on a Raider designed for crowd control or on a Star Destroyer with a spare upgrade slot and iffy fighter coverage.
See http://kdyards.com/upgrades.view.php?id=539 and http://kdyards.com/upgrades.view.php?id=540. Give them a whirl and let me know what you think.[/url]

So I've been doing some thinking about Cross-faction ships and various faction's order of battle.
we all know that some ships see duty in everyone's order of battle. The Nebulon-B, for example, is fairly ubiquitous: it shows up in the empire, the rebellion, and sometimes in the hands of rich pirates and other mercenaries. Because of that, I'm okay with that ship having Ship Cards for each faction - it makes sense.
For another scenario, I'm going to use the Lucrehulk as the example. Now, the Lucrehulk is a Seperatist fleet and is a mainstay of their order of battle. As such, there's a republic Ship card for the Lucrehulk - so far, duh.
But let's say that the Rebels were able to get their hands on one lowly Lucrehulk. Well, it's not their standard order of battle, is it? So I don't think it should warrant a full Ship card, because that implies that they are widley available. But what if we make it so that you can use a Rebel Lucrehulk Title for a Separatist ship, even though there is no generic Rebel Lucrehulk? This means that you can use the Separatist version of the ship, but ONLY if you use the Rebel title.
This is really important for my Campaign rules, because once you lose that title'd Lucrehulk, that's it - that's the only Lucrehulk you could get your hands on (unless you do some jiggery pokery with campaign bonuses).

Gliad,
Good report. Looking forward to more
.As far as single-token elite squadrons, I've already started doing something similar: http://kdyards.com/tagged.php?tag=Flight+Groups
In fact, here is my "formula"
Everything starts the same as the vanilla version. Give the squadron Limited 2. If the squadron already has limited, make the limited value 2 and increase the point value by 1. Give the squadron one Brace, Decoy, or Scatter. If you've given it Scatter increase the point value by 2 (or another 2 I should say, if you've already increased it because of the limited disparity).

Real friends don't let friends drink and post.
My largest agreement is on your third point. I agree that traffic jams are probably the most annoying aspect of the current set of rules. However, I am willing to accept it as a least of all evils. I am curious if anyone else has home-ruled the collision system, but frankly, if it never gets changed, it will not be a deal-breaker for me.

I finally got the faction tokens working.
I think that's all the major features that I had planned that won't need a major overhaul.
For now, I collapse. I'll check in with you folks after work tomorrow.
Good hunting.
-
Good point! I hadn't thought of that line in ESB.
-
They might be best in mercs, but they might warrant their own faction, too - only time will tell really. I suggest we let Rebels unfold for a little while and see how they fit into the 'verse.
-
Okay - I think I've got it fixed. Make sure you do a test print, just to make sure you understand how your printer feeds paper in.
I highly recommend using adobe acrobat as Google Chrome's native PDF reader will not auto-center, which means that the content comes out mis-aligned.
Next up: little faction tokens.
Cynan,
I'm very curious about this new faction. Sounds like the Canonization of the CSA, maybe. Only time will tell.

I'll adjust the flight groups in a moment.
By the way, may I borrow the idea of a blue defense token from you? Unlike your version however, mine would be a one time use only (Basically an exhausted token that doesn't ever regen). I plan on making a few upgrade cards that make give them, as well as for my campaign rules.
-
Crap, I just realized that the back-side prints are screwy. I forgot to make it so that they are flipped around for proper alignment.
-
Glad that the playtests have been going well
.Let me know if you end up changing stats on the Phantom so that I can adjust me three Flight Groups, too.
-
Hold off about an hour before you try printing, I'm almost done with the PDF generation code.
EDIT:
apparently by an hour I mean 15 minutes
I got the PDF generation code working.
REMEMBER: When you print your PDFs, make sure you print as "ACTUAL SIZE" or scale at 100%... I say again, Do NOT "Fit to page"
edit again:
I need to re-make the token printing system, too and while I am at it, I'm going to make faction token rendering a thing, too.

Alright, I'm going down this rabbit hole... Printing queue is going to be replaced with a PDF generating system that I am currently writing... Wish me luck.

Hey y'all.
I've added the Campaign Bonus cards to KDYards: http://kdyards.com/expansions.view.php?id=470
Rules can be found here: http://kdyards.com/articles.view.php?id=511
Still working on the map.
Note also that all the campaign bonus cards pretty much have guesses as far as campaign point cost. I'm very open to getting some feedback on point values, critiques of the cards already up, or new ideas you might have for new campaign cards.
-
You might want to do a single test page to make sure things aren't scaling weird. Firefox has been temperamental thus far :/

The distance indicated should be 7.25 inches.
I should really just overhaul the rendering to have the system generate a PDF.
-
This makes me think of slaved systems, which means you may have stumbled on to a good solution for Droid X.
In other KDY-related news. I've added a whole new section for "Miscellaneous Cards". It is intended for free-form cards that don't fit into any other content. I've moved my campaign bonus cards into there.
Edit:
Next feature (to be done tomorrow) is a list of what expansions a given piece of content is in, if any.
Second Edit:
I lied - I took care of the new feature just now - turns out it wasn't that hard.
I recommend that once you add something to an expansion, you take out the redundant tags.
-
I think you need a slot for the ship identity token, but that's me nitpicking. Looks great.
