Assault Carriers and Rebel Transports
ThatRobHuman replied to CaribbeanNinja's topic in Star Wars: Armada
There are x-wing codes for products that never made it to production, but we have always known what they were supposed to be. The only unknown codes have been the few occasions when one product gets announced before a different product with a lower code, as happened with the force awakens x-wing expansions. Doesn't mean that THIS instance is a pair of secret expansions though. As I said, its possible things were scrapped and the Vendor Item Number wasn't recycled to keep things consistent internally. It is possible that these are upcoming expansions. It is possible we haven't seen all of Wave 3 yet. Who knows -
The Weirdness of Wave 3 and what it may mean
ThatRobHuman replied to ficklegreendice's topic in Star Wars: Armada
"Flotillas follow the same rules as other ships with one exception" Motti will still work. -
On he other hand, as stated in that thread, this have apparently happened in X-Wing before (where the "missing products" never showed up). I was not aware of that... fair enough.

Assault Carriers and Rebel Transports
ThatRobHuman replied to CaribbeanNinja's topic in Star Wars: Armada
I highly doubt that this is an admin error. (Hi, sorry, I work in EDI, which is retail document transaction). Looking at how the item is displayed on Amazon, I can promise you that the SWM numbers are Vendor Item Numbers. In order to inform retailers as to prices, UPC codes, and any other information that the retailer requires (such as weight, description, volume, etc) the item data will have to be added to the retailers inventory system, usually by way of a UPC Catalogue Service, or an 832 or 846 document. This would mean that the entire retail and manufacturing department would refer to these items by the same item number pretty consistently throughout manufacturing and distribution. Edit: someone else pointed out that there are missing item codes for X-wing from way back. This could mean that the items were scrapped before release and the numbers were never recycled for the same reason above. -
What types of ship would you like to see in Wave 3?
ThatRobHuman replied to ceejlekabeejle's topic in Star Wars: Armada
Lancer Frigate and Quasar-fire Carrier is where my money is at as far as what these two missing products are. -
As mentioned in the other thread, check out the product codes. The flotillas are SWM18 and SWM19 - we still don't have SWM16 or SWM17. There are at least two more products out there that are unaccounted for. While this is a great teaser, and I'm excited to play them, we haven't seen everything for wave three yet, methinks.

Assault Carriers and Rebel Transports
ThatRobHuman replied to CaribbeanNinja's topic in Star Wars: Armada
Correct, there is no SWM16 or SWM17. FFG, did you spoil your own wave announcement? That's a great catch... I'm curious as to what we'll see. My money is still on Interdictor and Quasar carrier. -
GAMA tomorrow, keep an eye out for news
ThatRobHuman replied to thecactusman17's topic in Star Wars: Armada
If they weren't before they surely are now >.< -
That's a good starter set of lists, to the point where I might fly that for my "lets get these guys hooked" games. I'm halfway tempted to suggest a few hero squadrons with special stuff, just to suggest "Hey, these things can be cool" but it depends on how you want to do it.

Kuat Drive Yards - Armada Custom Card/Dial Maker
ThatRobHuman replied to ThatRobHuman's topic in Star Wars: Armada
Keep it simple. Agile: You may have the attacker reroll one of their attack dice. This way, you get to choose something that benefits you depending on the situation. Cloak is not very common, no, but I know I have a couple plans for it, and I imagine a few others do too, and just because we don't see a use for it yet doesn't mean it will always be so. It still does the same as a hit/crit icon, which is no laughing matter. -
Kuat Drive Yards - Armada Custom Card/Dial Maker
ThatRobHuman replied to ThatRobHuman's topic in Star Wars: Armada
I'll let Cynan tackle this one, since the Orange die is his. I only added the double crit icon because I am a completionist. (Edit: I did just think of a reason for having double crit dice. If you are using the cloak keyword that you find on KDY - basically it acts like a double hit at that point.) For now, like most things that are potentially dangerous, it is an admin-only function Deflect is the new one. I changed the wording of it since the last time I brought it up, but I think I'm going to put it back to how it was. Don't forget about Decoy, either. I haven't actually had a look at them just yet. This does make sense, but you realize that this really only works for squadrons with defense tokens - otherwise, you're taking a no-effect roll and opening up the chances to make do an additional point of damage - more often than not you're helping your attacker. I think upgrades on squadrons, while neat, could get logistically hairy - think of a poor imperial fleet with their 10 TIE fighters. Which one has this upgrade? which one has that upgrade, etc. I think its out of the scope of this scale's resolution. If you really want to have an "upgrated squadron" do what I did with my "Elite Pilots" make a variant squadron with your upgrade already added in and give it the Limited keyword. -
I believe DA is still on hiatus, so I don't think he's worked on it at all - I could be entirely mistaken. I haven't touched clone wars, yet - I figure I should let the experts bring it out of alpha, first.

Kuat Drive Yards - Armada Custom Card/Dial Maker
ThatRobHuman replied to ThatRobHuman's topic in Star Wars: Armada
No worries, man - its not anything here is a real obligation anyways. Nothing too fancy except for what you see already - they are just dice with a different set of results and range brackets. Details of the concept are here: http://kdyards.com/reference.php- my Green (formally Yellow) are intended to be a stand-off debuff battery - use sparingly for balance sake, because too many and you will lock down ALL of your opponents defense tokens, but it can't be used at short range. (I'm toying with the idea of making it Long-range only instead of medium-long). The Orange die is Cynan's looks like it is designed to be more of an All-or-nothing battery - higher miss chance, but oomphy if it does it. As far as other things going on, I've added another defense token (and tweaked it since I last spoke about it on this thread) as well as another keyword as requested by someone. I'm still open to suggestions on SLAM, but every idea needs complex verbiage to make it work. -
Kuat Drive Yards - Armada Custom Card/Dial Maker
ThatRobHuman replied to ThatRobHuman's topic in Star Wars: Armada
They are in the list of dice, now (btw "White" dice might not be a good idea, because they will not show up well against the card background - white on white means invisible; I changed your white to be orange) Edit: I changed by yellow/gold to green, because I feel like all the accuracy icons lean towards it being less dangerous and more utility, so the colors follow suit. -

ThatRobHuman replied to ThatRobHuman's topic in Star Wars: Armada
I spent today tweaking some functionality. The dice system is more flexible now, and can KDY can now support home-brew dice. I've already added my Gold dice to the mix. You can check out what the effects of the dice are here: http://kdyards.com/reference.php -
I... what? What even is this thread anymore? *takes a deep breath to start singing a bad 70s song*... eh, not worth it this time
