I am okay with adding a Rare X Keyword, but its use on the Defender, Phantom, and Avenger, will be at Wes's discretion as those are his designs. Rare X: You cannot have more than 1 of this squadron for every X non-rare, non-unique squadrons in your fleet. Basically, the higher the rare value, the more rare it is. Does this wording work for folks? In either case, I will be keeping Limited as there are some applications that I have made use of for it that would not work well for Rare, such as my Flight Groups.

You can blame Wes Janson for the cloak keyword (outstanding method of making it feel like a cloak, but keeping the logistics to a minimum, if you ask me). well, let's take a look at Wes's TIE Avenger I feel like if the Phantom didn't have cloak, it would be much worse than the TIE Avenger, which seems to be about where it should sit.

Yup - I changed the name of Gareth Agamar to "Whisper"

I want a named character for the Phantom, personally, but I can't think of whom to put. Edit: Added Gareth Agamar

Another quick update. You can now add Keyword symbols and Upgrade symbols to your text fields. -

Latest changes to the system Squadron Upgrade Type added Station Upgrade Type added Upgrade Flags (such as 'Modification', 'Flagship', etc) is now a freeform field. Comma-separate your upgrade flags and the card renderer will split them up appropriately. I understand that Squadron Upgrades may not be everyone's thing, but I find value in them, so I'm adding them. There seems to be two camps to using Squadron Upgrades (excluding those who don't want them, which is fair): Per-Squadron or All-Squadrons-of-a-type. I recommend pricing them on a per-squadron basis so that you buy the upgrade for each squadron that has it, that works for the second camp, too, because they would simply buy it and apply it to ALL squadrons of a given type. -

Cross-posting from the Squadron Upgrade Thread. Additionally, a new upgrade type will be added: Station upgrades. I'm also going to change a few things with Upgrade Flags ("Flagship Only", "Modification", etc). From here on out, it will be a freeform field, so now you'll have more control over that. -
I'm going to be adding the Squadron Upgrade type to KDY. If people would rather use it as a across-the-fighter-type upgrade, they can do that. If they want to do it using the per-squadron idea that I laid out (meaning to use the little squadron ID token as keeping track of who has what?) they can do that too. I will also be adding a new printing template to KDY as well - a full set of ID tokens that you can slot into squadrons. They will have a range of numbers, letters, and symbols as well as a multitude of colors so that you have a HUGE range of differentiation. As I said, I will be going for option 'B' myself.
-
Wait... Why can't the upgrade token do both? for each upgrade there are two versions: Black icon/symbol on White, and White symbol/icon on Black. There's your difference, then.
-
Also planning grabbing 3 each myself, here. I want to make my already extensive collection feel like a real FLEET, with support craft and everything.
-
Good point - here I am forgetting the original needs again >.< I could design a little token that fits on the base, that could get annoying and fiddly...

I think there are two solutions to the idea of Squadron upgrades. 1) Variant cards where the upgrade is hard-coded into the card itself. (the problem becomes that there would be many many variants of existing squadrons. It would probably become quickly unwieldy) 2) Limit any squadron to having only one upgrade. Use the little squadron-id-token-slot-thingy to indicate who has which upgrade. For example. Suppose I made a squadron upgrade card that is "Astromech Droid" - well, I'd make a little ID token that has a little astromech droid on it, that way I only ever needed one "Astromech Droid" card and at a glance I can see who has what. This would also make it easy for "Discard this upgrade" effects because you'd simply remove it off of the squadron who had it. For this method, upgrade cost would be added on a per squadron basis). I think I would go for the "2" option, if I were to do such a thing.

I just picked up a cruiser group for the dindrenzi and sorylian from firestorm to be my mandalorian and CSA ships, respectively. This will be fun -

Dras, I welcome it, for one. I know that people have been tagging cards they particularly want feedback on http://kdyards.com/tagged.php?tag=Needs+playtesting http://kdyards.com/tagged.php?tag=Needs+Point+Value http://kdyards.com/tagged.php?tag=Needs+playtesting -

New token is up, but probably incomplete: it is waiting on word from Green Knight with regards to his wanted purple dice. I thought about calling it agile, but I think it would be weird to see a ship with, say, heavy also have agile where a ship with heavy could have jammer, as could a particularly nimble ship. -

Alright folks, Elite Gunner and Elite Pilot are gone and have been replaced with "Precise" and "Jammer" (Deadeye didn't do it for me, as that feels more like a pilot quality than a ship quality). Sorry Wes! As far as the "Elite" keyword. I'm not opposed to it, but I feel like it actually detracts from all the unique pilots we're seeing. The unique ability is what makes a real "Elite" pilot stand out, not an umbrella catch-all keyword, but this is my own two cents. We have another defense token coming in soon. I've thrown on an additional die color (this one is a long-range-only ouch-blast). There is one last die color coming as soon as I get a list of the icons from the creator. -

I have changed the wording of the Board keyword and re-rendered all the squadrons that have it. Also, I've changed my Green die to Yellow - Green is going to be re-added later tonight as something cool, but I have to add a few new graphics for it. -

I thought about "Targeting Computer" but I don't like how lengthy the name would be. "Precision" or "Precise" is more pithy, I think. -

One last thing. In the next month, I'm probably going to start working on a large update to KDY - here are some of the features I want to add. Fleet/List Builder Batch Editing (add or remove a keyword to a bunch of your squadrons all in one go, for example) Contributors can tag other people's cards without editing said card Overhauling some of the back-end stuff to support bulk re-rendering when verbiage on the card would change. Expanded symbols input options for text fields API for other sites/apps to access data (possibly, this is a realm that I am unfamiliar with) Tournament Tracker Utility (including the ability to list upcoming Tournaments; MAYBE allow you to drill down by region) Artist accounts (to allow users with this role to add art to images to items that have a 'allow new art' flag, even if they aren't the card's owner) EDIT: added a few new features that I want to add -

Also, I have changed "Heavy Bomber" to "Volley" because I wanted to move it away from it sounding like it was a hybrid of Heavy and Bomber. For the record I'm voting for version 'B'. I have also changed the icon on Strike just in case. -
Kuat Drive Yards - Armada Custom Card/Dial Maker
ThatRobHuman replied to ThatRobHuman's topic in Star Wars: Armada
Looking for some thoughts, so here's a bit of a straw poll for you folks. I've just added a new keyword (and edited one that already exists). Elite Pilot: When defending, you may choose one of the attacker's dice to reroll. Elite Gunner: (Formally Elite) When attacking, you may reroll 1 die. Now, I'm cool with these, but I think I kind of want to stay away from the 'elite' titles for the keywords. While an "elite" keyword would be pretty cool, I think that these two sets of keywords would be better of with alternate titles. For example: "Precision" and "Jammer" - the reason for this is because I think it would encourage more non-elite squadrons to have these abilities while not giving them the flavour of being an "Elite" pilot. So here's my question: Would you rather have A) "Elite Pilot" and "Elite Gunner" or B) change the above effects to "Precision" and "Jammer" and find a new effect for "Elite" (I'd also like to shift the icons around a bit, use the crosshairs for Precision instead of Strike and change Strike's icon). -
