I've only gotten things in FUD and the now no-longer available HDPE (or however that sequence of letters is). Will the roughness of the model be badly compromised in supported areas for either HP Nylon / WSF as bad as it is for FUD?
-
Hey @melminiatures - do you have any experience with the "Professional Plastic" material?
One of the things that I noticed with the FUD (obviously now known as Fine Detail Plastic) is that there was a lot of roughness where the material was supported by the wax (A known artifact of the process of course). Given the complex geometry of something like a Constitution-class federation ship, there is a lot of need for supports and I'm trying to minimize that roughness.

Not star wars, but I had some fun with some models from my own Shapeways Shop.

So. I haven't played a game in well over a year. I haven't actually played all that much at all, but that's mostly because I don't drive and it's a pain to get into the city on my schedule, so I have no one to blame but myself. I also don't really do strangers that well.
That being said, can we knock it off with the clickbate titles? I already have a Facebook account.

Thank you!
I still haven't found the magic coefficients that determine the sliding scale, but I feel like I might be closing in on it...

perfect - thanks

I don't suppose you have a pelta sitting around you can do the same measurements on, do you?
maybe even an MC-75? -
Sorry guys, I'm not at home, but I want to try my hand at getting these numbers down. Can someone please post the Length, Width, and Height of the Imperial Quasar Carrier and the Pelta miniatures in mm when they have a spare minute?

Makes me want to finish the Tabletop Simulator mod I started...

But yes, I didn't include the dots - At the time there was no "Dot" symbol for the font I'm using, so I'm just going to say that the Lightsaber Nunchuck symbol on the cards implies it's unique and thus cannot be used. That or I"ll find a pretty dot and simply add it to each card before publishing the final product.
Fair enough - So long as you knew about the option and chose not to use it - can't fault you for that :3

Ooooooh.
I love fan expansions :3
I dig the concepts in a big way. I'm with you on the names though. Let me check my notes on what fonts Armada uses for the various fields. Also it looks like you're forgetting the "Unique Indicator" dots on these titles.
If only there was a website that let's you create custom armada cards and generate a PDF for them

1 hour ago, AllWingsStandyingBy said:Ok, I have to ask... why do so many people make custom Armada cards with an entirely different format and layout than the real Armada cards?
Because a lot of people use KDYards and that was an intentional decision on my part to make what KDYards produce be visually distinct from what Armada has. This was to purposefully avoid someone showing up with an unofficial card somewhere. At a glance you can tell that a card came from KDY.

For v2, Whilst I can't make it so that font-size is variable on a per-card basis, I can make it so that you can define your own renderer with a font-size that you want it set to - so in theory if you have a really long-text item, you can make a new renderer that uses pt7 font instead of the default pt9 font.
The unique flag is going to be across the board for all cards (stations, squadrons, ships, upgrades, even damage cards - because why not) AND bonus: you'll be able to define the icon you want to use as the unique indicator on a per-renderer basis, too.

Question: Would you guys find it helpful to filter and sort ships by things like Hull Value, Command Value, and maximum speed?

I will probably spend some time today poking around the workshop on stream in a little while. Some painting, some shop infrastructure crafting. Just putzing around.

we're up and running after a technical hiccup - link is in the first post

Stream is coming back up in about 20 to 30 minutes.

Might be doing this again tonight. dunno what I'm gonna end up painting, though.

Armada is Dead should die.

Armada is not dead, but FFGs lack of engagement with a community that wants it is infuriating. It's almost like these two things aren't mutually exclusive.
I hate the "Armada is dead" crap. It dilutes the clarity of the messages that come from those of us who are reasonable and aren't so shrill.
