Maybe?  But given that the precedence we currently have is to literally define base size in millimeters via the RRG (and even update and add that as required via errata for Large Ships), I figure that Huge Size will be "Set"...  As its a "Size", not a Definition like "Flotilla"...

But. Y'know, I have eaten TIE fighters over being wrong before

Well, I would rather have the new trilogy stuff.  Integrates better into our current setup (like resistance and First Order did originally in X-Wing) and also I really want to field the hugely impractical and almost certainly speed 1 heavy bombers from Episode VIII.  They're ridiculous, require the rest of your squadron points just to escort them, probably will all die before they even get to unload their big bombs, and are entirely thematic.

We don't have a problem using the Internet. For myself, I have a problem spending money on a game, and being REQUIRED to go online and download/ print stuff to play said game, before I'm able to play it.

I started playing Warhammer in first edition, and all the way till third edition, used hand written and calculated army sheets, lol.
And yes I have a phone. It's a newer smart phone too. And the only app on it its FB, and the only thing I ever will do on that thing is text, check fb and phone calls. Some of us older folk don't like al, this newfangled techie stuff. 😂😂😂

as it is, I don’t have Data, only Wifi, which the FLGS does not supply.

The point is, you can play Armada without FAQ/errata. It is only required for tournament play. Without it the game is still perfectly playable.
2.0, you are buying an incomplete rules set, because FFG wants to be able to adjust things.
Again, include all initial point costs and upgrades in the product, as sold, and I'm at least willing to give it a fair shake. Don't try to sell me an unfinished product, and try to tell me it's superior to the original.

Apps are only good for as long as they decide to support them.
Once your favorite game starts slipping in popularity, that app will become unsupported.
My Armada collection isn’t cheap, I am not going to stop playing the game when it stops getting supported. It is not suddenly going to become a bad game because FFG doesn’t produce it any longer.
So let me stick with physical products for my physical games and electronic products for my electronic games.
I don’t buy into mixed media games.  I have never seen one maintain longevity.

Yeah, no thanks. That's the description of a game that becomes unplayable after FFG stops supporting it, and allows for lazy game design to be fixed as they go. Unless they want to let me print cards, I'll stick with version one.

Let me rephrase. Unless they want to reduce cost appropriately for all the cards I am going to need to reprint with points, and upgrades, to make it playable without the FFG APP, I'll stick with version one.
I buy games to play them in perpetuity, not just until the game company decides to stop supporting them.
I have no interest or intention of buying into a table top miniatures wargame that requires an app to play.

I'm with @cynanbloodbane on this, sorry..... I know a lot of folks live on the net these days, and that's fine for you. But I'm old school, and if I buy a game, I don't want to have to bother with getting on my comp and downloading extra stuff just to play.
Third party list builders are great ( I use battlescribe myself) but you're at the mercy of whoever is updating the files. And you can say, oh print the PDFs....except I don't own a printer ( and no I ain't buying one. Don't need it.)
Maybe I need to retire from war gaming and just go sit in a corner and eat my gruel. 😆

No. If it was available with ALL information needed to play the game right out of the box!
If they included all initial point costs and upgrades in the box for each product, I wouldn't have this complaint.
Just like, if X-Wing 2.0 had made it a year before it needed a change in points cost/upgrades, then my argument that it only encourages lazy game design would hold less water.
I find it annoying that a table top miniatures wargame REQUIRES an app or a PDF just to play.
I firmly believe that expansions WILL receive LESS play testing and vetting, than they do now.
NOTHING is stopping FFG from publishing errata that corrects point costs on lesser used cards now. They don't. Why?
Because it is inconvenient to need to check what costs have changed for many different components every 6 months?
Instead with a 2.0 Armada, you would need to check all of them.
My point of view: if they need to change more than a few things, than they half-arsed the game design process in the first place. If not, than they should provide everything I need to play in the product I purchased. They can then correct those FEW mistakes with errata, that I can CHOOSE to download if I want to.
As far as I'm concerned, this is no different than not including the rules in the box, just so they can save on printing, even if they are available FREE for download! That is bush league, at best!

I mean, event exclusive alt-arts are already  a thing...

And I mean, the main difference between X-Wing and Armada is, seemingly, X-Wing's business model is a "multi-buy" for most of its packs...  You get two or three of a ship much more frequently than you do in Armada...  Not to say we don't, but still...  Something like a Vulture droid is good for this, as you're probably intending on getting three or more anyway, so its not a huge deal...
It can be a little counter-intuitive for Armada to dedicate production resources to something that's going to be a one off purchase for people, that's not going to be general release - either on retooling time and charges, or on the risk that it doesn't sell, when they could just produce more of the baseline.

I personally loathe event exclusives.  I grew up in Australia, and for almost 30 years there, I envied the ability of people to "Go to GenCon, get Swag" without a $4000k investment in Plane Ticket alone.  it was always infuriating.

I'm disappointed in the Alt-Art distribution of Armada as it was.  I was enthused by the Idea of the "Worlds' stream party" that OP had originally planned (the idea where the Worlds Exclusive Alt-Art would be distributed in limited number (2) to stores so they could run something simultanious to worlds to celebrate), because that helped distribute the Alt Art to those who for whatever reason, cannot travel....   And sometimes, that reason isn't Economical.  For some (including me), its also Security and Political based.

I begrudingly accept the situation we have, beacause THANKFULLY, unlike a whole bunch of other companies, FFG's alt Arts and Exclusives are functionally identical to general availability...   Keep THAT up, and I'll complain a whole lot less...  There's absolutely NOTHING worse than Prizes or Exclusives being functionally different, better or modified than general availability...

I really like the way @Crabbok described this in his latest video. The limited edition event ships become something special and have a sentimental value, a connection to a cool real live event. They will always evoke memories of that day. FFG selling those same limited edition event ships online would take away from what makes them special so they should only be obtainable at the event. That being said, I think it is only ok to have limited edition event ships if literally everybody has somewhat equal opportunity to get one. Meaning you would have to have events in every country you sell the game in. That is of course impractical so I remain somewhat skeptical towards them overall.

    Remember, there are multiple checks.
    1) ARC of fire is from yours to his - is the hull zone in that arc, yes or no - any part to any part.
    2) LOS is from Yellow Dot to Yellow Dot, without crossing an enemy neighboring hull zone. This also shows if the attack is obstructed .
    3) Range is from any part of your arc TO HIS THAT IS IN ARC.  You don’t get to short your range of that part of the enemy is closer.

    Then you can shoot.
    3 distinct steps.

If you have at least one person to play with on a regular basis the answer is Yes, this game totally worth jumping in!
Talking for myself I got into armada 2 years ago started playing with one of my friends and my girlfriend. It took 1 year before I start looking around for player groups, to find the closest being at 1h30 road trip, so we participate in a few tournaments, but most likely we just keep playing our 3-4 weekly game in my basement.
from my reading on this forum I can totally understand how frustrating it can be for people who like this game beeing unable to play regulary because there is no group, or the group dissolved in their town.

    It’s still better than not.
95% of the players I know didn’t attend OP anyway... They’re still players.

There was plenty of sales and support according to FFG, but their 2 world championships were 12 and 20 players respectively...  Nationsls was 8...

Tge OP was not what people were (seemingly) after - not what was driving the game.
The game itself was...  I mean, That’s why I got 2 Cores...
