  2. I love me some Captain Jonus, he makes his way into most of my lists. Granted I also play in a pretty limited meta - it's what to bring with him that I often struggle with.

  5. Unfortunately, that's not how OP works, it exhausts the tokens after damage is applied, not before.

I'm trying to keep it down to a small fighter screen and focusing on the ships, I like this build because it has proved a pretty great speed bump, and when your opponent is going ship heavy, thanks to the black dice and Vader, it can do reasonable damage to ships. Plus, with just the one glad and an ISD - that's not a lot of staying power on the board. That leaves you with two activations, which is not great unless you're running two ISDs/MC80s. I ran a very similar list with cheaper squadrons and a VSD instead of a second GSD. It was a VSD-II with Overload Pulse, and the ISD had Avenger. I was also using Screed to guarantee the OLP trigger. It was fun. I agree about the activations issue, and I have run the Screed Avenger/OLP build a few times it is really is fun , but, while I like it, I don't like having my ISD stuck with a slower VSD, trying to get the combo to go off.

So, played in a tournament recently and finished in a pretty decent place with a 2 ISD Squadron list, however, having learnt a lot from it, I've come up with a list for the next tournament, and I'm looking for a little input: ISD II Grand Moff Tarkin ECMs Intel Officer XI7s Gunnery Teams Glad I Demolisher APTs Ordnance Experts Glad I APTs Ordnance Experts Squadrons Dengar Darth Vader Mauler Mithel Tie Advanced Objectives: Advanced Gunnery/Precision Strike Fleet Ambush/Contested Outpost Minefields Maybe...? As you can see I'm having some trouble picking some objectives, any insight would be great, and I'm also very happy to have any comments on the list. Thanks guys!

Ah sorry, as it stands the list is 394, so there is a reasonable bid there - I do really like Ozzel, and have found his speed changes benefit what is, I have to say, my incredibly reckless playstyle... Motti is a very solid choice, and I do run him outside of competitive events a lot, but he's the only imperial commander I don't have access to as a card. Some of the others seem appealing, and the wing commander is really just a crutch because I am awful at predicting when to set up a squadron command so you make a good suggestion, and I could get together the points for any of the other commanders with some adjustment to my fighter screen.
  9. I'm not too fussed about low activations, I've been running Two ISD lists since the beginning of wave 2 with reasonable success. Plus, I really don't like Vics, and I only have the one glad, and to force that in leaves me feeling uncomfortable with lack of squadrons, however, ISD GSD GSD certainly sounds good for future tournaments.
  10. Sorry, I just realised this is very much in the wrong place, is there a way to move it? So, I've got a Store Championship coming up and I think I've settled on a list: ISD II Admiral Ozzel ECM HTT Gunnery Teams ISD II ECM Wing Commander HTT Gunnery Teams Darth Vader Dengar Howlrunner Mauler Mithel Soontir Fel Objectives: Advanced Gunnery Contested Outpost Minefields So unfortunately due to short notice, all I have at my disposal are two core sets, a GSD, one Rogues and Villains Pack, one Imperial Fighter Pack, and Two ISDs. My two neb B sets probably won't make it in time, and my brother has my other firesprays... Any last minute tweaks?

I'd put ECMs on the ISD rather than redundant shields, I know as someone who didn't play competitivly for a while, redundant shields look really nice, but play a few games and you'll realise you really want to always be able to use a brace. Before you look elsewhere have a good long look at XI7s before you consider other turbolasers, and then, if you have the points consider pairing them with an Intel officer, give them a road test, and tell me it isn't a really good combo. I also think you may have a few too many points invested in your raider, consider dropping it down to just a bare raider with ordinance experts, maybe with a title. It sustainable doesn't have enough staying power to warrant that much of a point investment. Sorry if this sounded overly critical, I didn't mean it to, I just was in a similar position to you and have learnt some lessons the hard way.
  12. I like the principle, but no ECM on a ship that expensive worries me. And as far as I can see, the best counter to other people's ECMs is an Intel officer. I wouldn't take an ISD 2 with no ECMs and if I've got no Intel officer, I like running HTTs. Also as good as Rhymer is, with no advanceds in that fighter ball, what's to stop him and Dengar going down first?

  14. Makes sense, although I wont get much say over whether I'm going first or not because the list is dead on 400pts, do you think there's anything worth dropping for a bid?
  15. That sounds good, I wanted to make sure both ISDs were an equal threat, as usually one just gets picked on until it's down and the other is essentially ignored, and I thought having the Admiral on one, and the other being a carrier for a sizeable squadron threat would be a decent way to do it

Hello all, Made a list after playing a few wave 2 games and I think I'm starting to get somewhere, but I don't like the full 400pts price tag on my list, but there's also nothing I particularly want to cut, so if you guys could point out any efficiencies, feel free to tear the list apart. Also, how are the Dark Sphere tournaments for people who are reasonably new to the game? I'm not fussed about winning, and I'm pretty sure I know the rules, but there is a difference between thinking I know the rules, and knowing them...

Yeah, thinking about it, if it goes to plan, the XI7 on the avenger us a bit redundant, also thinking the SW-7 seems a little excessive with Vader, so I've dropped them for points, not totally sold on dropping the rogues, but I might free up some space for some TIEs or IG-88, but with gunnery teams and two blues coming out of the ISDs I'm confident I can whittle down squadrons coming out at me.
  20. Hi all, this is my first post so go easy.... ISD II Vader ECM Overload Pulse Intel Officer Relentless XI7 Gunnery Team ISD II ECM SW-7 Avenger XI7 Gunnery Team Bobba Bossk Hopefully you can see what I'm going for, it's a one two punch with Bobba and Bossk clearing up stragglers. My concerns are it's too niche, too few activations, and too much of a one trick pony, still a relative beginner, so advice would be greatly appreciated. As a side note, if anyone knows any good groups to get involved with in North London please let me know, I can only play with my brother as armada is not the sort of thing my friends go for (heathens) but he lives a pretty long way away!
