The good thing about this game is that it comes after Descent, Imperial Assault, Middle Earth Quest and Mansions of Madness. All the lessons learned and player feedback should make this the best of the lot so far.

The way I see it is that the three main games supported by apps at the moment. Mansions of Madness, Descent 2e and Imperial Assault. MoM does not lend itself to campaign play (although it is entirely possible) so new scenarios are available as new expansions (big and small) are developed. The two games that are campaign based (Descent and IA) were stand alone game before the app tie in making it difficult to produce digital campaigns to tie in with the boxed expansions already available. Lord of the Rings will be the first campaign based game to be produced at the same time as the app. For this reason I think FFG will develop each expansion alongside a new digital campaign. As Bones of Arnor is the core game campaign, it's a good bet that each new expansion will have it's own app campaign.

Descent Road to legend (which is the closest in theme to LotR) has fully formed side quests that play exactly like the main narrative quests but obviously don't impact on the plot. I missed these in the Imperial Assault App and I hope this is isn't what FFG have planned for LotR.
