  1. It made sense here, as the flotillas are ultimately expendable and well utilized as blockers.
  2. I agree, Precision Strike is solid as hell. For Yellow... Fighter Ambush? For Blue... Navigational Hazards? Either way, it wants to go first. Under ideal circumstances, that could potentially be 5 reds, 9 (1) blues, 5 blacks all with re-rolls (except Jan, they're all bombers or capital ship dice). Not as many dice as the Doomhammer, but potentially more destructive?
  3. I think you'll get a lot of mileage out of Toryn, and might consider finding room for her. She, Jan and Norra seem to be automtake for me lately. Also, Yavaris, Adar, and Ten Numb with Toryn can burn down squads... fast.

  5. One question I do have is, how do you think think list should approach MSUs, and blitzing fleets? Getting rushed still is a tactic I struggle with at times. Is it worth dropping FCTs to find room for Engine Techs to get some more movement, or is it better to scoot and rely on fighter screens and use the GR75s as blockers?

  7. Ten is definitely a stand out from the new aces in CC. I ran him with Toryn, Yavaris and Adar, and with a bit of luck, he consistently hit way above his weight. The panic that I feel when Mauler shows up can be magnified so much with him because he's not dependent on movement to trigger. In our local meta, he has become a priority target. That says a lot, when he's being prioritized over Jan. Now I just need to fit Flight Controlers in there...
  8. So I can push early if I need to and still have the command range with All Fighters. So, basically offensive flexibility. Alternatively, at a minimum, I have additional flexibility in the opening turn positioning and setting a layered fighter net if I need to strike a defensive posture. its still early days for this list, I've only run it 3 times, so definitely room for changes and tweaks.
  9. After regionals, I wanted to retire Yavaris for awhile and take the Pelta for a spin. I'd also had my eye towards the rumors about Biggs and Nora. its been quite a lot of fun, if fragile. A nice two pronged attack. Strong fighter/bomber screen on one end with two support vessels to act as blockers in the face of Demo, or some such Imperial obnoxiousness. On the other side, the "I will **** you up bad if you ignore me" version of Admonition. And everything you've heard about Biggs and Nora? 100% true. They are ridiculously good.   12. For me, when I put a commander on a GR75 it's doing a few things. 1. Spreading out points 2. Keeps fleet dependent Admirals out of the main action 3. May cause an opponent to divert firepower in a chase

I had been practicing using both and ultimately decided on Sensor Net for the tourney because of the higher possible points to be netted, the temptation to chase tokens (one opponent sent a shuttle after one and pulled that Relay 2 out of the fight), and I didn't want to be tied to the station as an obvious destination. They're both good though, I'll need to take a look at Intel Sweep. I love VCX's.
  14. So, I played in the SA Regionals this last Saturday and had a fantastic time. Quality play and excellent organization all around. My opponents were all very good players and made for challenging play that was fun. Major props to the whole crew. Thought I'd share my list. It did what I'd hoped it would and I finished in the top 10, which felt pretty good. My overall strategy was about offering no good objective choices and I went second in all three matches. Standouts from the list were Ten Numb (Love that guy!) and those VCX's. Triple tapping Numb is a beautiful thing. He and Toryn Farr are amazing. My first two matches were with Sensor Net, and those tokens were what kept me competitive. Particularly in the second match against a 4 MC30, 3 GR75 list. I was able to pull a minor loss (6-5) when, without those tokens, would've likely been an 8-2 due to the crap rolls I got, and the mismatch in activations and damage output. The third was with Advanced Gunnery and the Liberty was duly intimidating, if not responsible for the majority of the damage. I caught a break and was able to survive Demo getting in my rear (barely), and finish him with focused fire. The list...   15. I stopped readin EU around the Jedi Academy series because I thought Kevin J Anderson was a poor writer, and then I never came back to it. So, I have a vague idea who the Vong were, but why so hated? I'm just being lazy here and don't want to read shite books just to find out.

  18. I played Phoenix Home tonight (man, there are a lot of moving parts there!), and I think Engine Techs will be a definite benefit
  19. Thanks for the feedback. Having intel is always helpful. I just wanted that extra dice for anti squadron but I supposed a HWK would make up for it with it's counter. I think it's worth it, esp with how tight they have to fly to utilize Biggs. It'd really easy to pin them down.

  21. Last time I went in the chase for an Admirals lifeboat, I think I sent a TRC90 after it when he pulled the full stop in a corner. I was on him by turn three. I think Decimators are good too, but a Raider might be best for Imps.
  22. Why no Entrapment Formation? Other than that, this looks good. I'm tempted to suggest dropping Hera for boosted comms on the Pelta, a VCX and another generic A, but that's just because I'm currently in love with strategic.
