    Glad that San Antonio was well received by you it makes me proud of the community.  I wish I could have played in it, but I was stuck TOing because some of our original player base that TO's these events for us had to miss.  Hopefully one of these days I'll get the pleasure of getting a game with you.

    I really do like this list, a few thoughts though would be to drop the XI-7 on the star cruiser. It is a bit overkill with h-9's and with you having a contingent of fighter/bombers.  Then trade out Tycho or shara bey for Norra Wexley.  I can see arguments for taking out either, but having both is to much of a good thing.  Norra helps deplete your opponents shields quicker allowing for dodonnas ability to be used more.  If you are going to have Luke and yavaris you might as well have Adar talon.  I mean a lie triple tap just does so much and with VCX's are amaze balls.  To get the points for him you can consider getting rid of flight commander and/or FCT's on yavaris.  You have two VCX's and in my own personnel list I felt the FCT's and flight commanders were a bit overkill most of the time especially if I am utilizing Adar Talon anyway.   I then turned yavaris into my flagship and found yavaris works great as a last minute flanker or just as a lifeboat elsewhere while the VCX's were on the board.  

    Seems like you just designed v.3 ? I like it.

    I'm looking forward to putting them through their paces soon.

  3. So, dusting this off with some updates. Taking into account what I remember of it's performance and @Darthain 's tips, I think this maybe a bit more versatile than it already was.

    im curious what the loss of Jan will do, but the thinking is that the squads either have the hull or the tokens to keep themselves alive well enough.

    Losing Adar might hurt a bit, but the swap for BCC should deliver more damage over all, maybe.

  4. @BrobaFettGreat advice on this list - it's really fun to fly. Had an incomplete game against an Rieekan Aceholes list and it was doing pretty well with me as 1st player in Hyperspace Assault. 

    The As did their job and gave the Fleet some breathing room for maneuvers. The ablative effect of the GR75s with squads was really handy in keeping Yavaris all choked and pinned up for two key rounds.

    I hear what you're saying. I think the idea I had revolved on trying grab 30 (or 40 if I change the screen into another TRC90) points automatically each round. So, more smaller ships racking up points while being difficult to zap, and Home One doing what it can to be bait.

    i put it on a platform I've had success with in the past. I've had 3 TRC90s (with Intel Officer) tear apart an Interdictor in short order.

     

    So, given all that, I'll see how it goes, then maybe start to think about streamlined optimization.

  7. Yeah, I still forget cards from time to time, but then, everyone has/does. When I first started playing, I did it often enough that one of the regulars at my FLGS had a t-shirt made in time for the Wave 2 regionals. It said, simply, "READ YOUR CARDS".

  8. I had to drop the TRC90s, but I think this maintains a punch from the Shrimp to balance out the carriers. Admo cannot be ignored, a couple of TRC90s can be by the likes of the big Imp ships.

     

    notes on other changes are below.

     

    As to the Dengar/Howl combo, prioritize Dengar then let Biggs and Co. pin them while Nora and the Bs go to work. Easier said than done, I know, but it can work. Also, run Bright Hope right up in with your squads for blocking and to add a touch more AS in tandem with Yavaris. They will probably both die, so squeeze them for as much as you can.

  9. The goal is to mess with squadrons in our squad heavy meta. E wings to take out who they want and the Biggs/Ketsu combo to tar pit. 

    The downside, as you've said, is a lack of punch from the cap ships. 

    I've won with it twice against some conventional fleets, but not by a huge margin, so... probably not competitive, but a fun anti-squad list.

     


  10. A little anecdote on the Liberty from today in response to a mention of Nav Teams here.

     

    This time Dodonna, rather than Liberty easy-mode with Madine, Raymus and Engine Techs, ... I tried one with Nav Teams, Veteran Captain and no Engine Techs with the idea that you might only need that tighter turn a couple of times.

     

    needs more testing, but not bad. I think Engine Techs were missed more that Raymus and Madine. 

     

    I would not strip it down navigationally much more than that though. One their own they are speed 3 bricks.

  12. Had some success with this last week and wanted to give it another go with some pro-tips from you lot.

     

    It was my first real foray into the world of E Wings and I was impressed with what a pack of 3 with Toryn Farr Could do. Unless you've really ticked off the dice gods, you stand a good chance of wiping out any Squad unit you want on a given turn.

  13. Born in '73 and possess a hazy recollection of ANH, may have seen it on re-release run after the intial (they used to do that more, right?).

     

    Anyway, distinctly remember my 7 year old self flipping out when I saw the first commercial for ESB. I saw the walkers and ran upstairs screaming there was another Star Wars movie. ESB will always be the first one I recall actually resonating beyond the 'pew-pew' awesomeness.
