  1. Whoa just caught up on things. Sup primus! And yeah no worries everyone, let's not get too bogged down in the whole thing. I appreciate Tassedar not wanting to use Dark Sides, but that shouldn't negate the RP, cause Tess could still feel the feelings, but then react to it all without actually taking the penalties from acting on them. Always be aware of tempation, you must ~ probably that Yoda guy.

As for the guns thing... I ain't in that. But narrative should win overall, yeah? We want to make this a cool story for both us to play and others to read! Fun > everything else.

  2. Why exert their will with the Force when words do just fine... Soryn muses as Tessrah weaves her power through the minds of the men and women assembled around the two Padawans. Taking a quick look at their faces, he realizes that some of them are just as new to this as he is, their knuckles white and their eyes wide. Walking slowly amongst them, the gaunt Pau'an stops at two or three, speaking gently and making sure to look far more relaxed than he feels.

"Dear me, those droids are making quite the racket. Does not allow a person much time to think, does it?" he says to one man, giving him a small smile. Moving on, he reaches a younger woman, "What a nice day it would be, if not for this war. Perhaps we should suggest they program our foes with appreciation for the serene?" He hopes these comments will calm the soldiers, and make them realize that fear and anger are not something to be carried into battle, they only serve to harm the person feeling them as much as they want to harm their enemies. Checking around him, he sees a man lick his lips in anticipation, giving Soryn an idea.

"Who fancies an ale, after this? I think I could convince General Kota to break out a little bit if we do well today. I'm not much of a drinker, but I wager I can use my mystical powers to beat any of you in a contest!"

(So like, a Charm or Leadership test, Rakaydos? Don't mind which - tried to split the dialogue so you could rule either way)

  3. I see we are still being overly emotional, the Pau'an can't help but think as he watches Tessrah take off. I wonder who her master is, to allow such indiscretion. Hopefully we all learn a lesson here, from this planet and its conflict. Looking up at the sky, Soryn watches small elements of the battle unfurl. Blasters, explosions, shouting. Chaos. The Jedi were meant to stand for order and reason, to walk into upheaval and bring peace. And what have I done, so far?

  4. Blast... I would rather stay out of her way... Soryn regrets as he jogs to join Tessrah. As the rally cry goes out, the Pau'an double checks the perimeter and scopes out the skies around the base, making sure they won't be quite so surprised by the inevitable winged beasts' attack as last time. Reaching Tessrah, he falls into step alongside her. "Well... At least we saved those two soldiers. Let us hope we can keep up the good work for the remainder of the day."

  5. After Tessrah helps the soldiers off and rushes outside, Soryn kneels down and carefully unties his now ripped and bloodied robe from the guns. He can't help but think it a good thing it was already a dark red.

Standing up and slipping back into his now rather tattered robe the gaunt Pau'an finds the nearest medical staff. "Thank you for taking care of these injured," he begins, shooting a toothy smile at the soldiers they'd brought back to base. "Is there anything I can do to assist here? I fear I am not much good with medical protocols however..."

  6. "Tessrah, stop," Soryn calls out, "That is not going to work. Neither of us are in the right state to be carrying anyone. Shall we try and fashion some form of stretcher or sled to pull? Soldiers, would you mind lending us your weapons as poles? We did no come well equipped for triage, as you can see, and I wish to get you back to your commander is the same number of pieces you are currently in."

Without waiting for a proper confirmation, the Pau'an takes the rifles from the wounded pair, trusting they would have side arms if they need for combat arose. Shrugging out of his robe, he kneels down and begins lashing the thick and durable fabric between the long blasters, making doubly sure to enable the safety on the guns when he comes near the triggers.

    Jury-rig stretcher attempt - Robes + Guns = ???: 2eA+3eB+2eD 2 successes, 3 advantage
    a-a.pnga-a.pngb-s.pngb-a-a.pngb-s-a.pngd--.pngd-th-th.png

After a few minutes work, Soryn asks for Tessrah's help, "Can you please double check that this will hold?" he questions, pointing to the knots he has tied in the robe and around the weapons. "If so, let us help these two back to the base, and then make haste to rejoin the others. Thank you, Tessrah."

(So as for result - I guess we make a perfectly feasible - albeit makeshift - stretcher to drag or carry with the two wounded people on! Much better option than our poor Athletics checks killing them!)

  7. Waiting for Tessrah to finish, Soryn contemplates courses of action. Given the limited time and resources they have, not to mention the ever present risk of the Separatists attacking full force, rather than the small trickle of forces they're committing at this point, it seems logical to get the mission done as quickly as they can. However... "I can stay," he says firmly, "These two can still use their weapons, and we should be able to hold off one or two more of those things if they do not get the drop on us from a collapsing tunnel." He says this a little less firmly, but is convinced they can do it, regardless of the waver in his voice. "You can go and see the mission done, and this way we can stay on comms, the soldiers can walk you through the demo charge placement while resting here, and then once you are finished, you can come back and pick us up. Or, if things get a little difficult, we can arrange an airlift from the base. Either way, I'm not consigning leaving these wounded alone, but we cannot jeopardize the mission, as Tessrah has said."

  8. "Are you holding up, Dera?" Soryn asks as the stims take effect and Tessrah has walked off. He watches the proceedings as the others emerge from the rubble and begin to help dig out the demolition troops. "Don't push yourself to breaking point, we're going to need you alert should more situations like that arise." Her healing prowess would prove invaluable as the day progressed. Thinking over the last few minutes, Soryn decides not to chastise Tessrah for her petty words, as Kor is in the process of doing so. To offer aid to someone else isn't compassion if it comes with those kinds of statements. He wasn't going to mention his aiding her against the creature either, that would be hypocritical. Suppressing a small sigh, the Pau'an moves over to assist with the removal of rubble and attempting to help the base troops move despite their injuries.

"I don't think I'm up to carrying anyone, at least not at the moment," he admits. As much as he hates doing so. What kind of Jedi was he going to be if he couldn't rescue people like this. "Best I can manage right now is helping you with it." He moves over to Kor, pulling one of the soldier's arms round his back to support the injured man.

  9. Gratefully accepting the stims, Soryn administers them immediately, giving Tessrah a smile that is part grimace due to the pain. "Thank you, I very much appreciate your aid. I trust you are uninjured?"

WT 11/10 (that's better - Stims down to >3 wounds for today)

  10. Managing to bring his blade down to defend just in time doesn't stop the beast from launching Soryn across the tunnel, his body bouncing off the hard rock wall behind him. Slumping to the ground, the Pau'an struggles for breath before forcing himself to his feet, a thin trickle of blood running from his mouth from where his sharp teeth bit his lip. His back was definitely injured, but he was still hanging in there, somehow. "Is Soryn ok?" he hears Kor call out.

"I am fine," the gaunt Pau'an replies with a grunt, standing tall in spite of the damage to his back, "Worry about me later!" Summoning his fading strength, the boy falls back into a fencing stance, keen to dispel any concerns the others have until they get the time to deal with it. His master always warned him that he got too reckless when things weren't going his way, but it had always worked for him in the past, so it should now too.

Charging in, blade darting forward, Soryn attacks the last creature with a rapid series of stabs.

It's still fine bladework, and many of the thrusts hit home, searing into the flesh of the vicious thing. Soryn staggers a little, his back burning in pain, but he keeps his footing through willpower alone and continues staring down the creature with his saber held ready.

    Outcome:

Out of turn incidental: Parry (this plus soak reduces damage taken by 4)
Action: Attack the last creature - 7 damage

  11. "I am really beginning to question why anyone would make creatures like these," Soryn states as he stands to his full height, his left hand taking his lightsaber from his belt. "And now we'll see what fighting you is like when we're not being bounced around by Clone pilots!"

Dashing in, the Pau'an feints at the beast attacking Tessrah, her scrambling in the situation making her the most vulnerable target. It opens itself up and Soryn thrusts gracefully at the joint between its arm and body, trying to find a soft, less well armored area.

Finding purchase, the Pau'an's mouth changes from a grimace to a wry smile. It was easier fighting when the world wasn't bumping all over. His humming blue blade held out towards the creature, Soryn watches it carefully.

    Outcome:

    Maneuver: One range band moved
Maneuver 2: Draw lightsaber (2 strain damage)
Action: Attack Tessrah's aggressor - 10 damage, add a Setback to its next check.

Soryn felt the rumble, a split second before the whole tunnel rocked suddenly from a massive impact and explosion. Diving aside as rocks began to fall, a number of them hitting and cutting into him painfully, the Pau'an did everything he could to tackle the others out of the way, desperate to save them from being crushed under the falling debris.

    Current stats:

  13. "It appears the Separatists are not going to let us catch our breath, eh Kor?" Soryn says as they move through the tunnels. "I hope everyone is ready for a long day!"

The sudden running after the precarious battle finally hits the young Pau'an, and he finds himself struggling to keep up with the others. Only by pushing himself does he keep pace.

  14. Are we all doing this RRRRRRRRRR check? I just want to roll it to see if I can Despair ALL THE DICE :D

Also how important is it for Soryn to check out this argument? He will likely stick to the orders given by Kota, but if this is something you are hoping he goes and looks at, let me know.
