  1. Thanks for your suggestions! I'm not sure why you put Wired on the bots - don't they have a great dial that is hard to stress? Also, when they're stressed they're not getting to boost so no benefit from Cs ability, right? Regarding the first list, I never bought Most Wanted because I don't like the ships in the box. I guess I'll try to make Parattanni post-nerf work somehow or go with your second list.
  2. I was prepared to fly your Parattanni suggestion. In fact after your description, and the more I read and watched videos, the more I was looking forward to it big time! Heck, I even started custom paint jobs on the Protectorate Starfighter and the Shadowcaster. Then the FAQ hit me today. In the face. With a chair. So now my second list is off the table, this has got to be a joke...
  3. Many thanks for all the excellent replies! I will test run both Parattanni and IG...ttanni(?), both seem quite good and my mood is already improving! I'll also read up on Parattanni, like what formation to start in. From what I've gathered so far it can be beneficial to split Fenn Rau out for instance. Scout spearheads the advance to block and the Shadowcaster tries tu be a pain in the rear preferably without having to turn the mobile arc I guess. Oh and I guess I should avoid doing red maneuvers at all costs.
  4. Haha your reply is pure gold on all levels, please do continue ? I'm torn between wanting to play the ships I dropped 50 bucks on and wanting to have a chance to improve my results from last time. I have heard fearful whispers of Paratanni, and know that 90% of those taking part in our casual tournament probably wouldn't even know what hit them (which is kind of what I'm looking for to balance out my utter lack of experience). I know it's based on action economy but umm yeah that's about it. How do you build and fly it/what's the 'trick'? Borrowing a mindlink would be fine. Oh, and THANKS!
  5. I have the 2 Aggressors, a Shadowcaster, an old Star Viper, a Jumpmaster, a Protectorate Starfighter and the flying Bucket that 4-LOM comes with. I tried building other lists but so far have failed. I can see the effectiveness of Fenn Rau for instance but find him super hard to fly. The Shadowcaster was fun-ish, but never seems to do much. I came 4th last year flying PalpAces with borrowed ships but this time I want to fly my own. Plus I don't have the shuttle and Palpatine is way to expensive money wise. Brobots was so much fun in the 3 games I flew them (no restrictions), I had hoped to make them work somehow.
  6. You're right, if I wanted to win I'd probably play 4x TLT Ys. But I don't have the ships and I strongly dislike flying swarms unfortunately. I don't play X-Wing very often so I was hoping to find something fun (for me) yet effective. I was contemplating Deci + Phantom, too, but now I already bought the 2 IGs.
  7. Thanks for the super fast reply! I know right... The format is "We're scared of synergy so we'll set a limit of 2 cards / ship and 2 unique pilots". I had specifically bought the 2 IGs for the tourney but sadly prior to the announcement of the limits, and I'll be damned if I'm not going to kick some butt with them. Isn't A the regen one? Seemed kinda lackluster last time I flew it, and without FCS I might want the B more maybe? Why would you not take the HLC? A+C with Title and Autos could be quite sturdy I suppose.
  8. Hi all, once again I come here asking for your input, although this will probably fairly easy. If you had to fly Brobots (probably B for damage and C for protection as I tend to boost most of the time anyway) and could pick only 2 cards for each ship - what would you bring? HLC seems like a gimmie, but then title or Autos? Or something I'm not thinking of right now? It can be as expensive as you want as I don't plan on bringing another ship and the list is 100 Pts max. Thank you! BC
  9. Oh sorry, yes I meant 2 upgrades per ship (edited the initial post now). These are still good suggestions! What would you change now? This is a really helpful list, thanks! Got OL and Ryad already and grabbing Fel and/or Tie/sf wouldnt be expensive either (I'll try to borrow as little as I can). No scum love anyone?
  10. Hey everyone! I just got back from a 1 week hobby vacation where we also held a nice little X-Wing tournament in which I even came 3rd, flying BroBots for the first time and absolutely loving it. I'm not really a regular X-Wing player due to lacking time, but so far both of my clubs friendly tourneys have been a ton of fun even without much if any practice beforehand. I'm now looking at scoring a similar ranking in our third tournament in December, but unlike the last there'll be heavy restrictions to lower the hurdle for new players/players with little experience (like me, I suppose): 2 unique pilots max. 2 upgrade cards of any kind max. (per ship) Now I'm all for keeping this casual to not make it un-fun for our casual players getting curb stomped by Miranda/Dash or something like that, but this is rough. With me hating to pilot swarm lists with a passion I feel hard pressed to field anything decent at all. I've thought about this and here's what I came up with: A: Gimped BroBots: B and C for the offense and defense, both with title and HLC. No Autos which sucks, but what can you do. B: Meh RAC & Echo: RAC with Gunner and Predator or Palpatine, and Echo with ACD and ... ? FCS maybe? I favor Echo over Whisper because I find it super hard to turn around with Whisper without getting stressed. With Echo that shouldnt be an issue. I don't really see the point of the Dauntless title btw? What do you think? I've got basically everything available thanks to a friend who'll borrow me what I dont have myself. Thank you so much! (This forum is really cool, I've never not gotten a useful answer!)
  11. Hey guys, we have another club tournament coming up in a few months, and this time I wanted to get a bit of a head-start unlike last time. I tried both Scum and Empire a few times since then but still had the most fun with Palpaces which I flew in the first tourney. So I was wondering if by now there might exist a kind of Palpaces 2.0 what with all the new cards and ships having come out in the meantime? Maybe with a Striker instead of the nerfed Defender or something? By the way our meta isnt super competitive, in January our best player won it all with a Doomshuttle/Vessery/Kath Scarlet list. Thanks!

  13. Alright, I realize that this is a little late, but I still wanted to share my experience in using this list - or rather playing AGAINST it!Because in the end I didn't get to play after all - we had 3 late entries to the tournament. But I did get to play some X-Wing, although against 2 players from our club that didn't have their own ships with them and only were familiar with Empire, so I had to fly my Scum (and build a list on the fly). Game 1 I played Fenn Rau (fearlessness, title), not Ventress but the other pilot (gyro, title, cargo chute) and Manaroo (stock, pre-FAQ). I won, but only because my opponent had no idea how to use the synergy of the Empire list. My own list was pretty crappy, and I struggle to get Fenn Rau into range one let alone get the firing arcs aligned.Game 2 I modified my list a little, dropping fearlessness for something else, might have been calculation. This time my opponent was a pretty decent Rebel player with a weakness for K-Wings. Which really hurt as he actually knew how to use the mine and blew up Fenn Rau easily. It went downhill fast after that and I lost pretty handily. He also knew how to use Whisper so... yeah.In the end I've realized that Scum is just not the faction for me. I struggle to build lists, I dislike the idea of mindlink (and not only that I'd have to buy TWO Shadowcasters for it), and I like flying hard hitting agile aces. I like the dirty tricks Scum has but I find them really difficult to pull off. Maybe I need more practice but my patience is wearing thin, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as I do enjoy flying Whisper, Ryad and so on. Either way, thanks again for the help on short notice, this board is ace!
  14. PS: what about extra munitions on Bren? Or is it better to have a bid for initiative? And then I should always take the initiative, or not? PPS: Can proximity mines get triggered by my own ships?
