Warpman got a reaction from StriderZessei in Adv Sensors + Push the Limit?
Free actions are still ACTIONS.
and yes, Adv sensors, BB-8 and some particular weird-arse pilot that performs actions before executing maneuver can clear the stress from PTL\EI by making it

Warpman got a reaction from Arkanta974 in FFG bring Jedi Starfighter to X-Wing.
Just bring us the REAL WAR period, the glorious days of Clone Wars
not ewok-ridden guerilla warfare of rebellion era.

Warpman got a reaction from Malufeuermut in Scum is the new "Palp Aces"
Somebody can actually push damage through the wall of green dice, autothrusters, all sorts of tokens and allmighty Palp?
I say it's a great day indeed. Nothing is worse than turn after turn trying to push that damage through while being slowly chewed through...

Warpman got a reaction from Radarman5 in Fearlessness activation
No Ruthless pilots outside the Empire?
Mercs don't have rebel captives? Or even any captives?
Han and Dash aren't slimy mercs and smugglers?
Well, that's what we have logic isn't the factor. Game design is.

Warpman got a reaction from StriderZessei in What's the deal with Dash?
ps7 and suddenly you can't do hell to palp aces.
any good for nothing booster beats you like a kid, and you can't do HELL to El Presidente.
Inquisitor can potentially out-damage you because of AT+Ability+Evade token
soooo
he's super dashingly good, but sucks against imp aces (that compose ungodly 6\10 of the meta right now)

Warpman got a reaction from R5Don4 in Best way to cut acrylic range ruler?
scalpel makes tiny cut on top of it, then throw the thing into the refregerator.
when cooled to "husky approoves" level, put it on the table, cut-up.
place any flat object just beneath it, I used a metal engineering ruler.
Slooowly apply pressure till it snaps along the cut.

Enough said.

Warpman reacted to Isnigu in A Warning on Weighted 3rd Party Dice
Sounds like you started out with confirmation bias, used a method of rolling that's in no way able to produce a scientific result (use a dice tower at the very least), and decided to name the title of the topic "warning on weighted dice" as opposed to something like "my 6 dice seem biased". Your methodology gives me "vaccines cause autism" vibes. Thanks for all the effort anyway I guess...

Warpman reacted to Forgottenlore in When an ip license is lost - a new path forward
GW has been staying afloat due to licenses for several years now, but it has been primarily licenses for video games. I kinda doubt the fees from FFG amounted to all that much.

Warpman reacted to ThalanirIII in Balance question regarding new ships
And why not? Just like glitterstim, crack shot, hot shot blaster, and the other illicits that are discard-on-use, it's a dirty trick with some (effectively) super-modified torpedoes that trigger if the opponent is silly enough to be in arc at r2-3.
It's perfect scum, and it ain't broken. It gets beaten all the time... If you don't run straight into it without a TIE swarm. You will lose if you joust, but simply put - don't joust.
-
Warpman reacted to Magnus Grendel in Balance question regarding new ships
Whilst I don't disgree, you have to note the following:
The TIE/x1 title is both cheaper andmore powerful than the TIE/v1 title. A free evade is nice (although note that if unable to target lock, you can't evade naturally!), especially when Advanced Targeting Computer weighs into the equation. The TIE advanced has Darth Vader and the advanced prototype doesn't . -
Warpman reacted to Hobojebus in When an ip license is lost - a new path forward
Thing is we've seen GW's attempt at rpg's in the form of inquisitor and it was a mess, letting another company do that was smart taking it away because they are having a hissy fit is not.
Ffg don't need GW, GW absolutely needed that licence money it was the only thing that saved this financial year.
-
Warpman reacted to Reiver in When an ip license is lost - a new path forward
Lessee. GW is now making board games with pretty miniatures as an increasingly big part of their lineup.
FFG producing under license is not only direct competition, they're at serious risk of doing GW games better than GW itself.
GW also makes minature wargames as their primary source of business.
FFG, with the star wars license in hand, *really is* doing it better than them.
They might have started off as reasonably chummy in the name of collaborative work, but they've now ended up almost as direct rivals as is physically possible...
It's no shock, then, that GW is pulling the plug. It's all fun and games until your ally bootstraps off of you into your biggest competitor.

Warpman got a reaction from Managarmr in Balance question regarding new ships
Well, it gets too costly, and pulling the missile trick requires you to take PS5 for the Deadeye.
Then we suddenly realise that the cost went stellar.
Overall, both aren't exactly that great, that's a shame to my mind.

Warpman reacted to Duskwalker in Balance question regarding new ships
Both of these ships are terrible examples.
The Tie-Advanced was considered dead-on-arrival all the way back in wave one, so much so that they had to release a tittle that gives it a 4 point discount on special upgrades to make it even remotely viable.
The Kihraxz has largely the same problem. It is effectively a sh*tty X-Wing, but without all the things that make X-Wings usable (Astromechs and good pilot-ability). And X-Wings are already considered under-powered to begin with.
