  2. I'd play a game with you if I was still back in KCMO, but I won't be going back home until my family is done with the Military life. Have you tried asking people in the Genesys Discord? http://discord.gg/3vNJa6t It also has a Terrinoth channel. Out of the thousands of players, you might find a couple in KC.
  3. My book arrived not too long ago.

    soak....really?

Dang you beat me to it. Vampire The Masquerade was my first. I ran a Vampire game for a little over 2 years until I joined the Military. It seems I've always related soak to damage in games. My love of Vampire is most likely why the Narrative Dice System felt just right my first play through.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean you changed the Core rules in your game? Nothing wrong with that. But according to RAW A higher brawn represents higher strength, carrying capacity and toughness. Encumbrance Threshold is based on Brawn. Higher brawn the more the character can carry. P.85 Brawn is described on page 14 as overall toughness because every skill it links to is physical. As a GM I give NPCs higher brawn because I think it makes sense for a stronger character to have a higher chance of success with physical based rolls...not to toss around extra dice. I prefer to use the Adversary talent when it makes sense, but I personally would give something like an ultrasaurus higher brawn. I would have a hard time buying that a very strong man would have the same strength based dice pool as a giant dinosaur. I'm in no way saying your wrong for changing rules in your games. (Rule of Cool) I'm only speaking about RAW.
  6. The Sound Investments talent is in Far Horizons: A Sourcebook for Colonists under the Entrepreneur tree.
  7. I agree with most of what everyone has already posted, but don't forget P.44 Non-player characters (also referred to as adversaries) can have characteristics higher than 5.

  9. Tannhauser: Operation Night Eagle Kindle Edition by Blaine Lee Pardoe seems to be the best reviewed out of the 3 novels, but it only has 2 reviews on Amazon. So I looked at the author's other books and his other books have hundreds of positive reviews. So Operation Night Eagle might be your best choice if you want to read a novel in this setting. Or wait for a sourcebook.
  10. So I'm guessing not many people care about this topic I don't think it's super important, but it can't be that hard or time-consuming. I had to make product avatars for a company once. It took me a couple of hours to crop around 50. Once they were approved getting them uploaded was simple.
  11. Only 10 years? I plan on living a lot longer than that my friend!
  12. I was responding to the comment,"There’s nothing in the book about changing archetypes" Which in fact there is something in the book about changing archetypes on at least two separate pages of the core Mechanics. I was merely replying to an incorrect statement. In the Core Mechanics, the book says there are ways to temporarily change characteristics, which I think lycanthropy fits that rule perfectly. Of course, people should do whatever they think is fun. Personally structured rules are why I buy RPG books in the first place. So I wouldn't change the core Mechanics (Chapter 1 stuff). I do plan to mold the rest of the system to fit my playstyle.
  13. Once I'm done reading Genesys from cover to cover, I'll begin converting force powers to Genesys magic rules. I've never been a fan of the force die and how force powers are currently used. It felt forced into the Narrative dice system. Anytime one of my players use the force it feels like we are playing a different game and taken out of the immersion of the story. I plan to break the force powers up into tables similar to the Magic tables in Genesys. Where each branch of the Force power tree adds to the difficulty. So depending on how the player wants to use that force ability will determine the difficulty. I'll still use NPC Discipline to resist some of the force powers.
  14. Page 33 & 36 both say once you choose a Species or Archetype the choice is permanent.
