  1. DAT! Nah you are fair so maybe you are as good as I and others here are at this stuff. We just don't go to turnies... (*More gloating*) Oh, I failed to count properly before. I have five medals. I wear them on a black military jacket with several different Empire patches when I really want to antagonize my opponents and encourage the Dark Side of the Force to affect the Dice Side of the Force. (Imperial hubris seems to work!) But if you did want to come to my area and play a tournament, I'd be happy to TO one just for you... HEL-NAH... you live to **** far away. *grumble grumble on those medals*So I am finding that my main FLGS is not getting wave in till past the 26th supposedly. . . Thats what you get from being so far from the center of the Canadian FFG universe. Yes, Brantford. ugh. Oregon? Sorry, have you confused with someone else!

  3. Daaaamn dude that is a huge box!! you got room till wave 5 in that thing. I like the shelf idea and the pluck foam.
  4. Medium base you have the dreadnaught, the C-series ships and a few more like the escort carrier Small base you can have the various frigates of which there is no lack. They could easily populate a full wave before having to crack into the FA IP
  5. Spot on, especially since 400 points has been confirmed as the standard going forward and already you have to make serious sacrifices in flexibility to put more than 1 large ship in a list. In the meantime there is a rich vein of medium and small ships in the universe along with a few Squadron types (Z-95, K-Wing, E-Wing, Tie Punisher, Tie Advanced, Tie Defender). That being said you could arguably cram the Interdictor on a large base, if you were so inclined
  6. I think it was edited/updated to Four A-wings is just the right number: with Flight Controllers, In the fact that Flight Controllers are a force multiplier to the existing A-Wings without having to invest the additional 5 points to get another A-Wing I have now personally seen 2 ISDs finished off by an A-wing. I would pay the extra 5 for the black die
  7. I don't understand this statement: Four A-wings is just the right number: with Gunnery Teams What do gunnery teams have to do with A-Wings?
  8. As requested: I'm still in the middle of painting it, but here you can see the more common components in an easy to access top tray Immediately under that is the main hangar bay. Easy to see that with a little better organization and stacking the rest of wave 2 will fit ez peazy This is sloppy until I figure out something better but its where I'm keeping all the bases. I might swap out the stuff to the side of the hangar bay to this compartment to stack these more efficiently 3 of 4 storage trays are in, i use the gap where the fourth would go to keep a binder with upgrade cards The 3 trays full of fighters and stuff Small ships and dials and stands Firespray says HAI!
  9. I would very much like to see this. I built my 2nd shelf last week in preparation for Wave 2. You can't take a shelf to a FLGS! Silly guy. I actually just upgraded my box to this: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/plano-7771-guide-series-tackle-box-0785911p.html#.Vks5YKyFOt8 It's bloody huge and right now I have all my not inconsiderable collection in there and there is still lots of room. It's great! For the record right now packed in there I have: Core components 3x Vic 3x AFII 4x GSD 5x CR90 4x NebB 3x Rebel and 3x Imperial fighters 2x Raider 1x MC30 1.5x Rogues and Villains 1x ISD Line Laser And I'm able to keep all the squadrons partially assembled and still have an entire drawer left for more squadrons and enough room left in the ships compartment for all the wave 2 ships I have coming (including 1 more ISD and 2 MC80). Can you take a picture and post it showing how well it stores the components? I would be happy to! Not sure how to post pictures on this forum without having them hosted elsewhere tho...
  10. Step one is realizing you have a problem. Step two is ignoring it! I went from compulsively refreshing the "upcoming" section of the FFG page to compulsively refreshing the inventory of the Canadian distributor. Once I see it in stock there I will be compulsively refreshing the store page of the place I preordered from. Ignoring what problem? lol
  11. My experience has been the same but please keep in mind that with Rieekan, what you're used to being a cloud of debris may linger on zombie mode, firing on you and then ramming you twice before finally expiring. Obviously this is dependent on your target selection and order of activation (if you're good you can catch an already-activated CR90), but with 6 CR90s I think it's fair to assume that activation advantage should probably tip to the Rebel side, all things otherwise being equal. Imperials will have access to a "spammable" ship now too, however. No idea if it will be viable and I haven't given it much thought but those things can hit pretty hard and in the right hands might be a real threat to CR90 spam.
  12. I always bring the whole thing, for a few reasons: 1. I tend to be an "Armada Evangelist" so I like to have enough stuff to have a demo game with a new potential player that has nothing 2. You never know when a 4 player game will break out and you need your other faction (happened after last tourney I was at) 3. You never know when someone will have forgotten a bit of their list and needs a hand (or wants to try a new list and they don't want to buy the extra without trying it) 4. I'm a massive compulsive collector and would feel incomplete inside if it wasn't all stored in the same place

  14. Im wondering if deploying speed 1 in a corner then navigating immediately to speed zero with a 2 ISD carrier, max rhymerball would work as a counter to this (objectives allowing, of course). In my calculations it is possible to build a pretty fierce rhymerball with 2 ISDs running expanded comms/hangar bays. You hold the squadron back until 2 or more of the corvette missiles are in range and then start popping them off (in my calcs you can roll fairly average and guarantee a Corvette dead per activation). Store a nav token and bring the speedup general and surge to speed 3 in one go to charge out at just the right time in good formation guns blazing. No idea if it would work but GOOD GOLLY it would be fun to try! My second ISD is on preorder and all paid for so I guess I can find out fairly soon! Thinking: ISD 1 x 2: 220 Hangar, Comms x 2: 18 5x tie bomber, 3x Tie advanced, Soontir, Rhymer, Firespray: 133 then either Motti and a 5 point bid or Ozzel with a 9 point bid Alternately can run 2x ISD IIs with all firesprays and not worry about activating them for 14 blue bomber dice Or run 13 tie bombers and Rhymer if you aren't worried about enemy fighters (and feel like spending $140 on fighter packs) for 14 black dice
  15. With or without fighter cover? without and I would like to introduce you to a rhymerball featuring a ton of bombers and firesprays pushed by 2 ISD Is using boosted comms and hangars. Long range activation with medium range anti-ship. My current squad setup, includes 5 tie bombers plus rhymer, 3 tie advanced, a firespray, and soontir. thats 9 black dice, 3 blue with 6 black 2 blue as bomber dice. max damage potential of 17 at medium range. A CR90 at medium range can take 8 before going poof and a MC30 13. So activating both ISD as squads is a very reasonable shot at destroying a CR90 and a solid shot at crippling a MC30 (outside shot at a kill).
  16. Preorder = winning solution to your dilemma. no kidding, a store has had $200 of my money for almost a month now for wave 2, thanks to such poor comms from FFG...
  17. How hard would it be for FF to make a simple statement like this? and how far would it go to assuaging community impatience. Its so much easier to wait for a specific approximate date than it is to refresh the "upcoming" page 4 times a day with increasing amounts of frustration.
  18. It may also be worth pointing out that screed can affect ship vs squadron rolls as well where Vader cannot. It might seem like not such a big deal but with the raider having 2 anti-squad dice, one of them black, it can save some blushes. I actually was in a raider vs squadron situation running screed the other day and screed flipping that black die to crit/hit and ditching a blue accuracy made the difference between an enemy squadron dying before activation and not. Its a small, small thing and very situational but it does actually come up!
  19. I think the reason "legacy" imperial players are having trouble with the ackbar conga line is they are too accustomed to the conventional wisdom and tactics of ship only lists. Frankly a bunch of squadrons will be a must going forward and committing your ships is something you do at the end. Chasing an ackbar list is about the stupidest thing you can do, but using a couple of victories or a decked out ISD as carriers supported by raiders and max squadron points with all the insane synergies available to the imperial squadrons makes for a better strategy going forward. A few tie advanced with Soontir (auto damage to any squadron that dares engage), a few tie bombers with Rhymer and a few ties and howlrunner and/or Mauler and/or villains (I found Bossk to be quite effective dual-role). With boosted comms and other optional squadron upgrading cards any list that skimps on squads to stack AF with Ackbar will suffer. the speed and versatility of the squads combined with a long + medium effective range (long range activation for medium range firing at ships) will allow you to focus on completing objectives and tactical area denial. Rebels will have to start reducing AF investment to either bring squads or other anti-squad specialized elements redressing the balance. in any case, what would be really cool is if we actually got wave 2 so everyone could finally find out...
  20. Yes this. Even if it was just "we expect to start shipping out in 2 weeks" they have a lot to learn about communicating with their community. Do they not have a dedicated community liaison?
  21. Those MC30s are nasty buggers. Best i've seen them used is like a heavy corvette. Staying out of medium range and pinging away protected by Mothma until its time to slash in for a heavy 1-2 punch. I'm most excited by the MC80 just because thats the only Wave 2 **** I don't have at least 1 of. I just got my second raider and can't wait to run an ISD/2x raider/squadron list
  22. And all FFG has said in forever is "soon"? Is it a customs issue? Did the ship break down? Lose the container? How soon is soon? We should start a pool: everyone comment when they think 1. When it will switch to "Shipping" 2. When we will actually see them in stores (to the nearest week) Winner gets bragging rights.
