  1. Yeah, the tricky thing is to get them all pointing in the same direction. With the 4 Juke a-wings imp aces seem to go down fairly quick if getting shot at all 4 if can get it all properly co-ordinated. Main issue is I keep getting involved in a fur ball whereas the a-wings really want to use their speed to attack, get out of dodge and come in again. So easy to get involved in a brawl with bumps a plenty
  2. Hi all With defenders currently destroying more or less every list I put out how do you guys think this would work: Wes Jansen (29) VI (1) R4-D6 (1) Green Squadron Pilot (19) PTL (3) Juke (2) Refit (-2) Title (0) I have run 4 PTL/Juke A-wings with Autothrusters with moderate success but they do lack bite and need to all be pointing in the same direction to really make an impact. I think this may work a bit better as, although the GSPs lose some survivability having Wes stripping a focus token from their target would increase their damage output. My main concern really is would this make Wes too big of a target and will he just get blown off the table early (and is it worth using the 2 spare points to give him some vectored thrusters to barrel roll out of danger. Another alternative is throwing in a VI/PTL/Procket Jake but once those prockets are gone there's still not a great deal of damage output. Any thoughts?
  3. I've run a list with 4 Juke and PTL A-wings and it's pretty stressful and can be frustrating. However, get all 4 pointing at the same thing and it's great fun.
  4. 33 i.e. old enough to know better but too young to care
  5. There is a rule that you can use dial from any faction and ship with any paint job (i.e. Scum z-95 with scum dial as bandit squadron pilot), if you using correct card and cardboard insert. I was pretty sure you have to have the right dial for the faction (for example not able to use the rebel z-95 dial on a scum list). I may be wrong though Yay, I was wrong. Just checked tournament rules

  7. I always favour Luke and R2D2 not only thematically but the built in focus on defence and regen on top of it is tough to break through. Add a shield upgrade to make R2-D2 that bit more effective (as you can regen more shields) and you're away. With the upgrade cards you have it's one of the only times i'd use marksmanship. Luke can manage without focus for defence and can then sneak some crits through on attack. For Poe if R5-P9 isn't an option (and I very much doubt it is) PTL and BB-8 is great fun. Reveal a green manoeuvre, perform a free barrel roll, PTL to perform an action and pick up a stress, perform the green manoeuvre, remove the stress again and then do another action. Makes him slippery as. If you drop marksmanship or the whiled upgrade on luke you can probably fill the list out with blue ace. I would highly recommend getting the A-wing expansion for PTL and as A-wings are great (if you like that sort of thing)
  8. But surely you would just run him with PTL and if you really wanted to show off use EI as well. Boost - EI for rage (effectively a TL with a focus) - PTL for an evade or another focus. 4 stress but he won't care Honestly, I would get more effect out of auto thrusters than EI. So would I and it's what I prefer. Was just an extreme example really
  9. jake Second this, Jake is one of my favourite of any ships. Only 2 attack but can fairly easily get to range 1 with focus and TL

  11. I may be wrong but i'm not sure Dengar should have got the revenge shot as by them he is piloting a collection of debris. Not meaning to rain on your parade
  12. I'd lose the prockets on the inquisitor and then you can afford Omega Leader with Juke and Comm Relay. A great end game closer once he has a ship target locked.

    Your Fav Ship is

A-wings all the way, great dial and the double elite talents make them really versatile. Shame about the 2 red dice.
  14. I like the Gemmer idea, may be better than compromising on Jake
  15. I've not got adaptability but sure can borrow it. Really it seems like it's just a trade off between manoeuvrability and durability.
  16. Which would you guys go for given a straight choice between: VI Poe w/ R5-P9 and AT's VI Ello w/ R2-D2 and AT's Poe has the higher pilot skill and has a offensive ability but is really tied to having focus tokens so i've found if someone is behind him becomes really hard to commit to a talon roll. Ello has a lot less to offer in defence but the white talon rolls mean he is less likely to be shot at and is more suited to tackling the current influx of defenders with their white (and in the case of the Countess Green) k-turns. Like to be pairing up with a 33 points VI/Procket Jake and 2 prototype blockers. Thanks for any advice you may have
  17. Now that's an answer and a half. That Jake load out is the same as the one that I use +/- prockets. And can be pretty tricksy late game (have taken out a VI Whisper 1 on 1 end game largely due to moving second). Thinking about taking on a dengaroo it may be better to go with the blue squad and Jake as whatever happens they move before Dengar and Jake can chase what will hopefully be a tokenless manaroo around (and just hope he doesn't have a revenge bot)
  18. Funny you should say that as i'm thinking i may end up facing a dengaroo list. Considering either 3 Blue Squad A's or Fat Han to accompany my procket Jake. I'm not convinced a pricket attack has to be a suicide attack though as he has a good chance of being out of arc of non-turret ships
  19. I guess if I was to run him without it would be this list: Rebel Regen (100) Poe Dameron (37) - T-70 X-Wing Veteran Instincts (1), R5-P9 (3), Autothrusters (2) Ello Asty (37) - T-70 X-Wing Veteran Instincts (1), R2-D2 (4), Autothrusters (2) Jake Farrell (26) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Veteran Instincts (1) And with it would be this one: (100) Poe Dameron (37) - T-70 X-Wing Veteran Instincts (1), R5-P9 (3), Autothrusters (2) Jake Farrell (33) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Proton Rockets (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1) Prototype Pilot (15) - A-Wing Chardaan Refit (-2) Prototype Pilot (15) - A-Wing Chardaan Refit (-2) But could tinker with this one a little and switch out the proto blockers for an R4D6 biggs
  20. I get that he is more of a threat when he has them but is it worth the effective 5 point cost for what is essentially one attack with two extra dice. Put in context it is the difference between being able to run him with 3 blue squadron pilots and 3 dagger squadron pilots. Personally I think the chance to shoot before jumps with 3 ships is worth much more that that extra 2 dice (if I even get a chance to use them).
  21. I never like integrated on the T70s with regen as if I have to use it it's really game over. AT's make them that bit more survivable
  22. It actually has more health (2H and 2S vs 3H) and the shields also make a big difference. The dials are pretty much the same but the A-wing has a green 5 straight which is really good for getting out of danger and clearing stress at the same time
  23. I agree, this seems the sensible option. Played against him today with Crackshot, Concussion Missiles, Flachette Torpedoes, Extra Munitions and Guidance Chips. All those munitions left a big bullseye on his head so took him out before any got fired. We decided he may have been better just with Crackshot as could do damage without being an obvious target.
  24. Went with the Cracken list in the end. Two losses to start, a bye and then two wins. First list I lost to went 5-0 for the day so no shame in that. Second game was 3 Tie/FOs, a PS2 defender and a Vader shuttle. Thought I'd try to joust and get something off the board before it shot. Successfully took down a TIE before Poe got tractor beamed and died, not a good trade. Eventually lost when Corran also got tractor beamed. Much more cautious in the last 2 games and never really looked like losing them. Some real lessons learnt!
