  1. I'd switch BB-8 and PTL for VI and R2-D2 on Poe and switch outmanoeuvre for PTL on Jake. Makes ten both fairly standard builds but there is a reason for that I guess. If you're planning to pass focus to Jake you can focus to boost and then receive the focus token fem Kyle and barrel roll before PTL to either evade or TL. It's also a stronger list if Kyle goes down early
  2. Could you get 8 attack dice from an A-wing? 5 dice for prockets and an extra from expose and opportunist and then an extra dice from Jan ors in a support ship. Could be nasty but pretty situational
  3. I know it's boring but I'd say to go for PTL instead, but is best with R2-D2 or VI so you can use barrel roll to get out of arcs and means PS9 aces cannot line up the perfect shot
  4. Even in the decimator 3 dice with focus or TL is normally more reliable than 4 naked dice anyway. 3 dice with focus or TL should average 2.25 hits but 4 naked dice only averages 2. So I'm with blade on this one, never a good choice to use expose
  5. You did, and it wasn't. One of those where you know it's not the best idea but you want to try anyway
  6. I quite like the look 4 x GSP with PTL, Juke, Refit and Autothrusters. I'm not sure but 5 PTL GSP's could also be fun, more a variation on the 5 procket protos
  7. Ok, so went with list 1 and it got smashed to bits. My rolling may not have been great but really struggled to get damage through high agility ships with Han and all too often was only doing one at a time to B and Y wings. I may have been gambling too much on the Han re-roll. Also I think my play style is more suited to small base ships.
  8. The tala is only really on the second list as couldn't afford a prototype but a switch from Poe to Ello would make it do able. As for list 3 should probably just switch Blount for a proto and whack some prockets on Jake. I'm thinking list 1 for tomorrow though and just try not to crash and burn.
  9. Ok, so I may have acquired another rebel aces, could end up being a 4 a-wing list. Fun for everyone but my opponent. There will be a lot of games going to time!
  10. Hi guys With another champs coming up looking at one of three new lists. What do you guys think? I'm leaning towards number 1 1. (97) Han Solo (64) - YT-1300 Predator (3), Luke Skywalker (7), C-3PO (3), Millenium Falcon (1), Engine Upgrade (4) Jake Farrell (33) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Proton Rockets (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1) 2. (99) Poe Dameron (38) - T-70 X-Wing Veteran Instincts (1), R2-D2 (4), Autothrusters (2) Green Squadron Pilot (24) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Juke (2) Green Squadron Pilot (24) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Juke (2) Tala Squadron Pilot (13) - Z-95 Headhunter 3. (98) Jake Farrell (28) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1) Green Squadron Pilot (24) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Juke (2) Green Squadron Pilot (24) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Juke (2) Lieutenant Blount (22) - Z-95 Headhunter Assault Missiles (5)
  11. I've never really tried Jake a PS7 but as I trust your expertise in such matters I'll have to try it for a few games and see how it goes. Main issue is there are a lot of PS8 pilots in my local meta. I also find I get a lot of use from the AT's and always think you only need them to kick in once to make them more worthwhile than the hull upgrade. And if I had another Jule I would use it but could throw wired in the third GSP. Need to get myself some games to practice!
  12. Luckily you get 2 autothrusters with each Starviper so you only need two and you can always sell the models on (which is what I did). To be honest an all A-wing squad is fun but unlikely to be really competitive. I would say a good starting point is actually to go with Poe w/BB-8, PTL and AT Jake w/Prockets, PTL and AT 2 x prototypes with Chardaan refit With the upgrades you have this is a reasonable list. if you had the original core set then R2-D2 would be better on Poe but it should be fairly good fun to fly with BB-8. With Jake you should be able toy get into range 1 with TL and focus to get max effect from the prockets and the 2 prototypes should just get you used to flying them and also are really good blockers to set up shots for Jake and Poe. There are numerous other options though Hrm. One Star Viper might fit in the budget then. Thanks for that tip. Then I have it on two and run other things. I might just run that list and see about borrowing an R2-D2 from someone not using theirs. If you can borrow veteran instincts as well then I would add that and R2-D2 to Poe and replace the 2 prototypes with Gemmer with PTL and Proton Rockets. With the extra defence dice he can be a tough cookie.
  13. I would use the PTL card on an a-wing, probably Tycho with wired as well as proton rockets. I like the prototype as a blocker. Not sure that you need PTL on Keyan. The B wing has enough red manoeuvres on it to keep him stressed and the PTL would be better used on Tycho. The ability to k-turn and still modify dice rolls if pretty good. For the final ship I would do with Poe and BB-8. I've lost count of points etc but should give you an idea or two.

  15. Which ore set do you have?
  16. I've not really run many GSP squads, I normally run Jake, GSP and another ace. Last couple lists have been: Horn A (98) Corran Horn (48) - E-Wing Push The Limit (3), R2-D2 (4), Fire Control System (2), Engine Upgrade (4) Jake Farrell (28) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1) Green Squadron Pilot (22) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), Autothrusters (2) And Next list (98) Poe Dameron (40) - T-70 X-Wing Veteran Instincts (1), R2-D2 (4), Weapons Guidance (2), Autothrusters (2) Jake Farrell (33) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Proton Rockets (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1) Green Squadron Pilot (25) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Outmaneuver (3) Both were ok but especially with Poe I missed the manoeuvrability of the A's, I've also run a list with Jake, Gemmer and Corran with R2 instead of R2-D2. Corran was pretty fragile but great fun to fly. All GSP lists usually lack punch but hopefully Juke will help with that.
  17. Getting them to be effective is always the issue but hopefully Juke will help with a little. I'm under no illusion that it will be a list that takes the world by storm. I just think that the A-wings need some love and I don't think anyone likes playing against them. may be something to do with having them sat behind 3 defence dice, evade, focus and AT's. But if used in a tournament could be a very (very) long day You are certainly setting yourself, and your opponents, up for a long thought-intensive war of mental attrition. I would expect, especially if you have to play 4+ rounds @ 90 minutes a piece, you will be cognitively exhausted by the end of the day! I am usually pretty drained, and do usually tail off at the end!
  18. Yeah, I'd rather VI and be out of arc entirely than rely on wired

  20. I seem to have too much time on my hands but here's some a-wing fun to critique? Would it be better with just the 4 GSP at 24 pts or even switching out the 22 pointer for Lt Blount with Ass. Missiles to soften targets up! Green Squadron (98) Jake Farrell (28) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1) Green Squadron Pilot (24) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Juke (2) Green Squadron Pilot (24) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Juke (2) And Green Squadron Pilot (22) - A-Wing Push The Limit (3), Chardaan Refit (-2), Autothrusters (2) Or Lieutenant Blount (22) - Z-95 Headhunter Assault Missiles (5)
  21. R2-D2 is the most sensible option and arguably the only option in a competitive environment. However, Corran with PTL, R2 astro, FCS and engine upgrade is great fun, but also the ultimate glass cannon!
  22. Well from my point of view PTL and VI is the only way to go. With prockets he makes a great ace hunter
  23. Unfortunately this wouldn't work as the stress from DD would prevent him from focusing. It's why Tycho is so much fun!
  24. I think PTL and either Crack Shot or Juke are pretty nasty looking. Don't have the cards so not been able to run them yet
