  1. Some changes inbound! While working out character creation, there have been some great ideas presented. Because of this, I've got some big changes to make. But changes that are very much welcomed, and give me opportunity to rewrite a few things I wasn't entirely happy with. I'm hoping this is a common occurrence for new Games Masters just starting out. Blog will change a little too. But those changes will take place once the characters, their background and their first adventure are solid. At which point the blog will temporarily vanish while I make the needed changes. I don't like being a tease, but this new direction has me excited and a lot more inspired.

  3. I've typed up the fiction I wanted to for now. I've taken photographs to put faces to character names. Now it's time to get on with character creation. Beginning with the three Force Sensitives: #1 She is the oldest of the three, aged twenty once the campaign starts. She was taken to the Jedi Temple as a youngling, found her Khyber Crystal and was a Padawan of a Jedi Knight for four years. Unfortunately, she became disillusioned with the Jedi Order and left at the outbreak of the Clone Wars. This character is the epitome of "a Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defence never for attack". It was some time before she created a lightsaber, believing it was a weapon, and when she did she used as much natural components as possible from her home planet of Alderaan. The only time she will use her lightsaber is for the defence of herself and others, and she won't deflect shots into enemies. Lightsaber: curved shoto with Ilum Crystal. Character: being skilled at foresight, and always seeking the guidance of the Force, she is a Mystic Seer. She'll also start at Knight-Level. #2 Seven years younger, this character was a Padawan at the time of Order 66. But he was a friend of our first character and was expecting trouble. Unfortunately, his master got killed. Now he's stranded on a planet, but has made a friend, and must plan his next move carefully. Though he can't pilot, it is intended for him to learn. Both Seeker: Ataru Striker and Warrior: Ace could apply. I think Seeker sounds more appropriate as the character is athletic and a survivor. His lightsaber will be the Age of Rebellion version. #3 This character is the tricky one. He is Force Sensitive, but had gone unnoticed by the Jedi and is now a teenager. He knows how to pilot a Z-95, and finds that easier than piloting a speeder. For this character, the idea is to make him an Age of Rebellion Ace Pilot who is a Force Sensitive Emergent. He doesn't have a lightsaber, but there are two ideas to solve this during the campaign: 1. The killed Jedi Knight dropped his lightsaber. Perhaps it got picked up and could be the inspiration behind an adventure. I'm thinking that the clones retrieved the lightsaber and it sits in the office of an Imperial character. or 2. When the Mystic journeys to improve her skills (Chronicles of the Gatekeeper), the others join her and he finds his own Khyber Crystal. His reward for helping her. Personally, I like the first idea. But I've typed up this to see what you think.
  4. I've enjoyed watching the first season of Star Wars: Rebels. So much that it has given me two good ideas for organizing my campaign: FIRST I'm going to create my own planet as a place for the first games to take place. For anyone who has read "Gathering Storm", it is where Thalia had foreseen her master get shot in the back by Clone Troopers. She didn't know it at the time, but learns of it soon after Order 66. More on that will appear in the "Campaign Story" soon, and "Locations" following that. It makes sense to have a place where the Empire will have a presence, and which I can shape around my characters rather than the characters having to fit in. I needed somewhere for scattered characters to find each other, rather than just say they're together "just because I said so". Fact is I'd like my own world to run operations on without the influence of existing Canon or EU, and the current TRK system is too remote for anything to happen there at the moment. SECOND While I'm keeping the "Timeline" the same, I've changed the actual "Campaign Story" from the BBY/ABY set up to "Empire Day". I've found it has actually made it easy to track time from the birth of the Galactic Empire. Got plenty to do before the action kicks off. But I'm going to concentrate on the fiction for now to set the scene.

  6. Beginning a campaign at 18 BBY. Remnants of the Separatists who intend to continue the fight against the Empire. Their leader, a former Jedi Padawan who had foreseen treachery of the Republic just before the Clone Wars. This will be a campaign spanning Force and Destiny, Age of Rebellion, X-Wing and Armada. I'm still creating pages on my blog, but there's plenty there to introduce the campaign. I've set up the blog to work more like a website. But this topic is set up so that I can get advice from time to time.

  8. Wazzup! From one new guy to another. Personally I prefer the miniatures but I could see myself using it to try out lists before gaming.
  9. Needing an approved post so here goes: I'd like an Astromech avatar. Not necessarily R2-D2.
