Hey! I wrote a short story based on some of the lore on the back the race sheets. I won't reveal which ones as that would spoil the story!
You can read the story here!

    Hello all,
My son and I put together a variant ruleset to play Twilight Imperium 3e with two players. In a nutshell, it's a 3-player game including a virtual player akin to the Automa in Stegmaier games.
Comments, feedback and suggestions are welcome

I thought Rukar and others would want to see this. Recently my group acquired as their ship, one of the new players was so excited, he commissioned a local miniature painter to remodel the X-Wing Miniatures game HWK-290, into a HWK-1000. The results are in the links below.

Personal thoughts on house rules in general:
Never ever allow anything other than an Action to call for a skill roll. doing so will mess with the advantage economy Never let a single stat double dip on one roll (like if you made the GtA chart work off handling, which would make it double with the blue dice handed from the handling) Simpler is better. Its always better to add a quality than change a maneuver or action Its always better to change a maneuver or action before changing a base rule Its always better to change a base rule before changing a stat block (too much work for GMs on the fly imo) You can't ALWAYS follow all of these, but I think that in general, these should be good guidelines for working on house rules.

I just did the DL-44,  this time i saved the different pieces and pulled them apart.   The Photoshop file is a little more complicated than this.  however this is the breakdown of how i paint the guns and the ships/floor plans.  Characters are done in a totally different way

I start with the line drawing,  then i go all the way to the back,  doing the base layer first and work my way forward piece by piece all the way up to the color correction layer.   Hope this helps her understand.

Some of my players are not as fanatic a star wars fan as myself, and i have been meaning to make them a Visual web based Weapon Compendium for a while.  After playing some battlefront today i thought i might give it a shot.  I was going to start with the Edge of the Empire Items first then work my way through the other books.  Though i did the DH-17 and the EE-3 today, I can see this little project taking months with all the other work i have.  I am going to try and do a few a week and will be sure to share with the community.

I really like the way they show Stats in Battlefront so i did them like that, though i may do something different later.

Enjoy.  uhg.  i just saw some clean up i forgot to fix around the DH-17,  i will fix it in another update.

LoL When I once told my friend I wanted to play a gank he looked at me quizically and asked why.  He thought I said gonk.

If I am understanding it correctly General Grievous was a Gank.  In the episode of TCW, where they are in his lair, there are some statues that show what he looked like early in his transformation.

What I would love is a high def. interractive map where I can enter the name of a system and the program finds it for me, or at least gives me coordinates. With known info on planets / systems, and all. If the program could calculate hyperspace route and time between X and Y, taking hyperdrive class in account, that would be great too. Throw in some randomizer for failed astrogation while we're at it. And since one can dream, add a random celestial phenomenon / hazard on top.

An app for i-pad with all of that would be best, now that I think of it. Basically, I'd like an app that imitates a Star Wars ship's nav computer...

I always chalk unneeded wings and such up to being part of the heat dispersion system. It's hard to stay cool in space. It satisfies my mind just enough to overlook the rest of the wonky space stuff, because Star Wars physics and real physics are very distant cousins at best.

Ok,  i admit the community's overwhelming love for the 1000 sparked my interest..  though my intent today was to do a freighter for an upcoming game i am hosting....  I had to stop and spend the last hour coming up with my own version of what a 1000 might look like.   I know everyone has their own opinions,  so please understand this is just my interpretation of what i have seen from the stats (i know many of you may have wanted it to be bigger).  When i do an interior i can show you why i made it the size i did (290 to 1000 jumped from Silhouette 3 - 4) .  I have some ideas for some cool cargo/living areas that use the available space.  I might make two actually.  One that is for a group on the go,  and one for a hot rod-esk cargo vessel.

It works better if you don't see lost wounds as laser burns, bleeding gashes and broken bones, there are critical injuries for that.

Mechanically, deflect (and parry) transfer damage from your finite resource pool (wounds) into your renewable resource pool (strain). Narratively, you still deflected the whole laser beam (actually, the round worth of laser shots from that adversary). The mechanics are only there to let you know that you can't keep up like that indefinitely.

Laurefindel got a reaction from DurosSpacer in How do you manage 2 hour sessions?
As Hinklemar suggested above, start your sessions in media res.

Take inspiration from Star Wars The Clone Wars series; give them a "fast forwarded" crawl text, skip the plot hook phase and throw them right into the action. Try to make your plot revolve around 2-3 two-hour "episodes" at the table.
