  1. Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! Is there any special rules for casting invocations in the shadowlands ? If there isn't, how would you handle it ? Any thoughts are welcome. See you in the Sands.

Fixes to the Game (version 6.4) post errata 1.0

Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! So far, i feel the fact that all Rings can be usefull both in combat and at court is a strong point of the 5th edition. See you in the Sands.

    Stealth

Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! Just a question: Is stealth a part of the Fitness or Skulduggery skill ? Stealth is a possible subskill of Fitness but the Skulk ninjutsu technique use Skulduggery. Any thoughts ? See you in the Sands.
  4. Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! In the NPC section of the beta all NPC even non-human creatures are stated with some Void. If feels strange to me because Void was always described as something intrinsically human. Your thoughts are welcome. See you in the Sands.

    Fear

Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! Is there any equivalent of the old Fear ability of some creatures and school ? If not, how would you implement it ? Thanks for your answers. See you in the sands.

    Pre-made adventures

Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! You could easily adapt some adventures of Heroes of Rokugan 1 as they are set before the Scorpion Coup. Hope it help. See you in the Sands

    Mantis Clan Revealed

Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! I loved my Mad Necromancer Khadi.... But take heart mortal one for the term "Burning Sands" appears in the beta. So with any luck they might even improved it a bit. See you in the sands.

    Converting 4E Characters

Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! Thanks all, right now i am trying to find a way to convert the NPC for the Naishou Province book. There are a fair number of courtier and converting shuji isn't easy since it is new 5E item. See you in the Sands.
  9. Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! I was rereading the Crab schools and wondering what replace the old Lore - Shadowlands skill. It is not something common outside of the Crab clan, and it is definitely not a courtly issue. Any insight ? See you in the sands.

    Mantis Clan Revealed

Which may be best, since AEG consistently mess that up !
  11. Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! Just a simple question, do you reckon it is possible to convert 4E characters to 5E ? If so, how would you proceed ? Thanks. See you in the Sands.

    Multiple School

Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! Thanks all for your inputs. I am somewhat reluctant to allow shugenja to have multiple schools. I am well aware that shugenja could have ranks in courtier schools in the previous edition, but, as of now, most shugenja already have access to shuji techniques and I am not sure allowing them kata would be wise. What do you think ? See you in the Sands
  13. Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! Just dropping by in your benighted lands for a couple of questions . Would you accept multiple school with the new edition ? Then, how would you implement it ? Thanks for your input. See you in the sands.
  14. Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! Well, it is where the game come from, so it is logical that, in the early stage of the game, the rules focus on that part. It will be interesting to see if and how the designers will implement characters that doesn't neatly fit in the celestial wheel: monks, ronins, etc... See you in the Sands.

    Beta 1st Impressions

Greetings from the Sands, Evil-Smelling Brother-in-Law of a Camel! At first glance, the beta seems very interesting. The new R&K looks fair, and the game mechanics are promising. So far we are a bit low on advantages, disavantages, spells, etc... but it is just a beta so they can come up with more for the real thing. It looks to me than we are somewhat low on skills but the subskills will probably correct this. I do not know if they plan to introduce more school to give every clan a Bushi, a Courtier and a Shugenja school, but it might be interesting if all the clan did not have access to all the options. I might be a strong incentive for clan cooperation and will help differenciate the clans. I really like the new courtier, courtier technique and composture will probably make court adventures far more risky and more interesting. All in all, quite good. I hope to playtest it soon to confirm it. See you in the Sands
