Once per conflict phase, at a water province, until it is broken.

Yes to all

Hasn't happened yet so don't know what the rotation schedule is going to be.

Was there originally a Yakamo card that didn't have this? Or was Yakamo released after Crab Clan Oni?
Or maybe they caught the misprint before running the press and decided to embrace it as fate rather than correct it, and added adjustments?
The art on both cards also has a number of similar features that would suggest it was intentional and not a misprint/retcon.

RULES QUESTION
During the card draw/bidding stage, are you required to draw the full number of cards equal to the dial?
For example: Player 1 sets dial to 1, Player 2 sets dial to 5. Player 2 pays 4 honor to Player 1. Can Player 1 choose not to draw? Can Player 2 draw any number of cards between 1-5? Or are players required to draw the amount bid?

Voltron is indeed a reference to the giant robot series. Voltron was formed when lesser robots combined to make a more powerful/larger robot.
In L5R context it means loading up a single character with a bunch of attachments and/or cards that temporarily boost stats.

Sacred cows that that I would lead to the slaughter:
1. Methods of defeating/destroying threats in a very short time-frame that have previously confounded all the experts for thousands of years. No more magic bullets or special snowflakes.
2. Big Bad confronts the empire and all the Clans join hands, sing Kumbaya and win without consequence. This while the Big Bad simultaneously goes into trope mode, losing all intellect, spelling out the grand scheme, becoming overconfident, and being defeated without consequence (see #1). No more forgone conclusion or dogpile 8v1 scenarios.
Make the Big Bad divisive. Make it reasonable for Clans to choose opposing sides. Big Bad doesn't need to be Shadowlands or gaijin incursion over and over again. Also, make it matter which Clans are allied. Show how fragile and problematic this can be.

With the possibility of full character spreads being wiped from the board in a single turn, a "low" political strength army will have opportunities to win political conflicts and even break a province.

At this point, I'm hoping that people do grab their box and make for the door. This way I can wait with generic tickets in hand and get a slot in the tournament.
The fastest internet available in Hawaii was not quick enough to nab tickets either time.

If anyone has an extra ticket and still needs a room, I have a deluxe room at The Alexander I can share

Another way to assure a certain type of clan loyalty would be stronghold design. If your stronghold needs a personality from the own clan to work.
Let's take The Grand Halls of the Lion for example:
Battle: Give your target opposed Samurai a Force bonus equal to his Personal Honor.
If you would change it to:
Battle: Give your target opposed Lion Clan Personality a Force bonus equal to his Personal Honor.
You would need a certain amount of Lion Clan Personalities in you deck or you can't use the box properly.
So yeah you can probably put in a lot of other good personalities to archive your goal, but a certain amount of own personal is required to use your strongholds ability reliable.
And yes the honor requirement system in its current form is terrible.
If mixed clan decks are going to be the norm and/or encouraged through alliance effects a better wording may be:
Battle: If you control a Lion Clan Personality, give your target opposed personality a force bonus equal to his personal honor.

Similarly, no one should expect the fundamental nature of Jigoku or the cosmology of the setting to change in order to allow the Spider to be welcome in Rokugan while still actively acting as agents of and displaying the "favor" of Jigoku.
Spider = Jigoku needs to be eradicated. Each realm's favor can be sought out by any individual of any clan. If all the clans can curry favor with Tengoku why should the setting not allow the same for Jigoku? As has been mentioned previously the game/setting is not about existence vs. Jigoku. The mentality that every action must be in opposition to Jigoku is the only reason this doesn't/can't work. A fantasy setting that won't change the cosmology or setting just because "previous stuff" is contrary to "fantasy". Static safety of the setting limits it especially when the general consensus is that the setting is borked. I'm not advocating change to make Spider fit, I'm advocating change so everything fits and works. If that means realigning or slaughtering sacred cows then bon appetit.

If/when the L5R forums come back, there is a thread/excel file for all the cards.

Well I guess if drastic changes to the setting would upset the L5R CCG playerbase nothing should change to make the setting work in the LCG. People don't like the way Spider became a Great Clan, they don't like Goddesses Part 4, they don't like the Destroyer War but don't dare change the setting to make things work. I don't get it. This isn't about appeasing L5R players to just transfer the community wholesale from AEG to FFG. It's about fixing the game and bringing in new players as well. Everyone seems to agree that there's problems with both the setting and mechanics but want to preserve them anyhow.

Starting fresh with the LCG, Jigoku/Taint could be made part of the Celestial Order. An element of the world that must exist in balance with the rest. You can make it that Iweko upset this balance and to right it Tengoku and Jigoku bless Kanpeki's ascension to Emperor (wed to Miaka). No seals being broken, no conjoined realms, and a reason for tainted folk to exist within Rokugan and not as death demanding pariah. The Crab & Scorpion still have their walls to hold against the tainted nonhuman elements. You could also clean up the redemption/cleansing stuff that popped up out of nowhere and replace it with a single process that was discovered through thousands of years of experience and investigation by the Asako/Kuni/whoever else. No more miraculous cures that are discovered in 2 days that couldn't be found in 1k.
Another possibility is to give each major realm a Kami leader instead of 7 in Tengoku and 1 in Jigoku.

I would like to see the provinces replaced by Strongholds that have effects relative to their position, what Stronghold is next to them, or how many you control. Remove the resource production (PS & FH may be irrelevant with this design as well) so when you lose a Stronghold you only lose it's effects and don't have the production death spiral. This could also change the interaction of the remaining Strongholds.
A quick and dirty example (not entirely fleshed out but the gist):
I have 2 Strongholds remaining:
left SH is Sepulcher of Bone - undead cards cost 2 less, goblin/oni/troll cards at adjacent SHs cost 1 more
right SH is The Halls of the Damned - Samurai have +2 force, Samurai at left SH have +1 force, Samurai at right SH have +1 chi
In this case an undead samurai brought into play from the Sepulcher of Bone would cost 2 less and have +1 force while in combat there or + 2 force while in combat at The Halls of the Damned.
This would make choosing Strongholds and their placement a part of the strategy. Destroying Strongholds would also become strategic beyond mere resource destruction. You could also use this to restrict/enhance movement between SHs. Personalities may only be called to battle that is adjacent without an ability or strategy that extends this range or your opponent may be able to restrict in a similar manner.

A mechanic similar to 7th Sea's Boarding Phase based on the 5 elements is something I always thought would work for L5R dueling. Just replace club, punch, dagger, slash, and thrust with Air, Earth, Fire, Water, and Void.
from wikipedia:
Each card in the deck has three boarding boxes. The large attack box is first, with two smaller defend boxes below it. Each boarding box has one of the following actions: [C] (Club), [P] (Punch), [D] (Dagger), (Slash), or [T] (Thrust). The attacker starts by playing a card from his hand to initiate his attack. If possible, the defender resists by playing a matching defence card from his hand (i.e. the defender's card must have a defend box matching the attacker's attack box). The defender immediately counter-attacks with the action in the attack box of that defending card. The original attacker then defends himself against the counter-attack. In effect, the exchange is reminiscent of a continuous cinematic "Thrust-Slash-Parry-Riposte" mêlée. The mêlée ends when either player cannot defend against an attack (i.e. the player's hand is empty, he chose the order of his attacks wrongly, or he has a bad boarding hand). The last attacking player wins the boarding attack, and the loser suffers hits.

FFG isn't making L5R CCG 2.0 so they don't need any AEG L5R CCG staff. Bringing over RPG people may be a different case depending on whether it's a product continuation or restructuring.

0 until the L5R one drops. Not really an LCG guy.
Same for me.

Once you declare a conflict (choose conflict type, ring, ready characters) in 3.2 everything is "during a conflict" until 3.3
