  1. I had a similar conversation at work today, Here is the line: Kylo is taunting Rey: "You can't stand against me, you are no Jedi" Rey: "Your right I'm something else.... I'm a Skywalker"
  2. Thank you for the advice. Question on the DTT, I'm assuming that is Dual Turbo Laser turrets? Looks like if I drop the XI7 I can upgrade the MC30 to a Assault Frigate Mark 2B with Gunnery teams and ECM. Thank you again for your help. Updated list attached. Faction: Rebel Alliance Points: 398/400 Commander: Admiral Ackbar Assault Objective: Advanced Gunnery Defense Objective: Fire Lanes Navigation Objective: Intel Sweep [ flagship ] MC80 Assault Cruiser (114 points) - Admiral Ackbar ( 38 points) - Defiance ( 5 points) - Walex Blissex ( 5 points) - Engine Techs ( 8 points) - Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points) - Reinforced Blast Doors ( 5 points) - Leading Shots ( 4 points) = 186 total ship cost CR90 Corvette A (44 points) - Jainas Light ( 2 points) - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points) = 53 total ship cost CR90 Corvette A (44 points) - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points) = 51 total ship cost GR-75 Medium Transports (18 points) - Bright Hope ( 2 points) - Comms Net ( 2 points) = 22 total ship cost Assault Frigate Mark II B (72 points) - Gunnery Team ( 7 points) - Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points) = 86 total ship cost
  3. Thank you both! I am willing to do some travel. @Short and Loud, Weather permitting I will try to make it up towards the end of the month probably the 24th, I usually get off work around 5, so I wouldn't be there till around 6, is that a good time or when do you start playing? @JadeDragon79 Thank you for the info. The GF has some family in North Platte so maybe I can convince her to take a Sunday to go up and visit, (while I play games :)). Thank you again, I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
  4. Hello, I'm working on an Ackbar list, and am looking for ways to improve it, and feed back is greatly appreciated. I have the core set, and the following expansions: CR90, Assault Frigate, Homeone, MC30, Rebel transports, Neb-B, Victory, and Imperial Light cruiser. And two TRCs. So with that I came up with the following fleet. I like the idea of a small bid, but I have been toying with the idea of using those 6 points and remove an upgrade from the MC80 (Probably the XI7s) to upgrade the MC30 to an assault frigate with ECMs for some more durability. Faction: Rebel Alliance Points: 394/400 Commander: Admiral Ackbar Assault Objective: Advanced Gunnery Defense Objective: Fire Lanes Navigation Objective: Intel Sweep [ flagship ] MC80 Assault Cruiser (114 points) - Admiral Ackbar ( 38 points) - Defiance ( 5 points) - Walex Blissex ( 5 points) - Engine Techs ( 8 points) - Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points) - Reinforced Blast Doors ( 5 points) - X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points) - Leading Shots ( 4 points) = 192 total ship cost CR90 Corvette A (44 points) - Jainas Light ( 2 points) - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points) = 53 total ship cost CR90 Corvette A (44 points) - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points) = 51 total ship cost GR-75 Medium Transports (18 points) - Bright Hope ( 2 points) - Comms Net ( 2 points) = 22 total ship cost MC30c Scout Frigate (69 points) - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points) = 76 total ship cost Thank you.
  5. Does anyone play around the Lincoln NE area? Thanks.
  6. Thank you for posting this, that was fun to watch!
  7. That cake looks awesome! Thank you for sharing all the pictures, looks like a blast!
  8. I think the SSD could end up being a great recruitment piece for the game. If you get this out on a table at your local store, folks will come up and talk to you about it. That conversation turns in to a Demo when your done with the game your playing, or tell them to come by next week (or month whatever it is), and play an intro game with you. Point them to the forum here and some of the blogs out there. Could be a great way to generate some interest and get a couple of new players.
  9. Lurker here, I have a core set, CR 90 expansion, Assault Frigate, VSD expansion, Rogues and Villains, and two Rebel I fighter expansion packs. I want more, but I don't play enough to justify it at the moment. If/when I get around to finishing painting all my fighters I will probably get more fighter squadrons. Its enough to play games at home that are slightly bigger than the core set, and one of these days I will actually make it to a tournament and get to play with my full rebel fleet. When that happens Home one may get added to the collection as well.
  10. @Wax Maniacal Thank you for posting these. Any idea how newbie friendly these games will be? I'm located about an hour away and would like to come up for one of these, but I don't have much experience. I'm good with getting destroyed every game just excited to get a chance to use my ships some more.
  11. I had some similar thoughts. I say this as someone who has not read any of the aftermath books or really consumed much of the media around the new trilogy, so I hope someone here can tell me more about the FO's structure, particularly the non military side of it. I am thinking that the First Order will self implode pretty quickly without Snoke, just because I don't see how they plan to (or can) govern the galaxy. Hux is an incompetent general (at best). Kylo seems more like Snokes/The FO's hired gun, goes into an area and deals with a threat, not necessarily commanding a force them while doing it. Not folks who I can see effectively controlling systems, or politics, or really any function of a government aside from the military. The Emperor, was a master at playing the long game and had the governing systems of the old republic in place to help him govern and keep control (and even he needed or at least used the bureaucracy of the senate to help hold power until he had the Death Star). Fear may keep the local systems in line, but from what I have gathered the FO took over the galaxy in a blitz attack, now that any long term thinkers are not in a place of power, how are they gonna keep the troops feed and the power on? The Resistance may just need to hide for a couple of years and let it implode.
  12. I would lose my mind if a new version of the Decipher game came out. I spent way to much time playing that back in the day. I had cut back on playing a year or so before the end, local game base had kinda dried up, and a few of the new mechanics (such as the starting 10 card side decks), seemed to force play into a one dimensional. But the base mechanics for that game were amazing, and I would throw a ton of money at whoever brought it back. *edit* Look at that box brings back a lot of memories. Its funny to me now that they advertised the Vader and Luke that you couldn't get anywhere else, given how those versions were POSes that were really hard to get on the board, and were very under powered for their cost/forfeit value.
  13. Thank you all for taking the time to review, and provide advice I really appreciate it. I hadn't considered keeping my ships so slow to start, but it makes a ton of sense, and having Dash around is going to be fun. Thank you again.
  14. Hello All, I recently received Armada, and the rouges and villains fighter pack, and have picked up an additional CR90, and an assault frigate. I have been reading a lot about the game and trying to watch videos (shout out to the Can Not Get Your Ship Out guys, that has been a great resource), and this is what I think would be the best list with what I have. My local game store has CR90's, and VSDs, and the CR90's were on sale, and then the Barn's and Noble near me only had an assault frigate. SO my first fleet is going to be rebels! There doesn't appear to be much of a community in my area, but there is a tournament next month in a town about an hour away. So I would like to take what I have and go get my face rolled a few times, see what I can learn, and have some fun. I will try and take this list on Vassle a couple of times to see how to plays and learn to navigate a bit better, other than that most games will be played against one or two of my friends with the core set, and whatever else I pick up on the way. My next purchase will most likely be the rebel fighter packs when I can find them, but not planing on finding those any time soon. Any advice you could give to make this list a little better with what I have would be greatly appreciated. I haven't purchased them yet, but from what I have gathered some Turbolaser reroute circuits will be a good addition so I have added them to the list. I am debating if Dash Rendar would be a better add than Han Solo, or remove an X-wing and some upgrades to make room for Dash. My thought there being one more rogue fighter might be a good move if I end up in a situation where I really need a nav or engineering command over a squad command. I don't know enough about objectives yet to say there is a whole lot of thought behind them, I feel contested outpost is probably a mistake, but it seems the most straight forward (i.e. noob friendly). My flight plan would be to deploy the two CR90's on the edge of one side of the board, and then the Assault Frigate, Nebulon-B and fighters just off center on the other side of the board. I would plan on useing the CR90's to shoot at long range/harass, and then see what I can do with the two big(er) ships and the fighters. Thank you again for taking the time to look at this, I really appreciate it. Faction: Rebel Alliance Points: 397/400 Commander: Mon Mothma Assault Objective: Most Wanted Defense Objective: Contested Outpost Navigation Objective: Dangerous Territory [ flagship ] Assault Frigate Mark II B (72 points) - Mon Mothma ( 30 points) - Gallant Haven ( 8 points) - Raymus Antilles ( 7 points) - Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points) = 124 total ship cost CR90 Corvette A (44 points) - Jainas Light ( 2 points) - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points) = 53 total ship cost CR90 Corvette A (44 points) - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points) = 51 total ship cost Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 points) - H9 Turbolasers ( 8 points) = 65 total ship cost 1 Luke Skywalker ( 20 points) 3 X-Wing Squadrons ( 39 points) 1 Jan Ors ( 19 points) 1 Han Solo ( 26 points)
  15. Thank you for pointing out the website that shows the soon to be released packs. Took a couple more cracks at Dol-Guldur, this time with my Brother, had one attempt where we made a bit more progress, but still brutal. Fun but brutal. I am very impressed with the folks that are able to beat this with just the core set. We are gonna tweak the decks abit and try agian. Looking forward to expanding my card pool a little, (and really like the idea of tracking Gollum down).
