  1. I Think Corran needs something to tank him through the offensive stuff people bring. Either Fenn or low.. maybe both? Taking 4x TLT from the ghost while you cannot modify any of YOUR shots is rough as heĺl. .. So the ghost will probably rip you apart without some sort of extra defence for Corran
  2. 1. Whisper still needs arc on miranda. One round where she doesn't have arc, she could lose 2HP easily, while not punishing miranda. 2. I'd give whisper about 3 rounds against Fenn/lothal. Maybe against kanan, but lothal has been the stable the last two to three months. Fenn takes any focus you want to make, and the lothal shoots 3x4 dice with rerolls and ezra... 3. At TWO hull and 3 shields, she can still only take 2 proton bombs (which is pretty normal on nym). and with her relatively low PS, the burden lies on her to move out of the 2 punch KO. With this she most of the time either loses arc, or risk a 33 % of being one shot. 4. She is a fortress, but with no auto-thrusters, she has a hard time surviving. 5. Agreed, but alpha-strikes aren't THAT popular anymore. Not the big ones either way. Any high PS alphastrike will crap on Whisper. 6. This is not a positive point. The kylo-RAC combo is what could potentially let your phantom live for more than 2 turns. With lower PS you have to rely on luck on either the phantom's dice or your own reds. 7. At PS 9 she was in a solid spot, 2 YEARS AGO! Now the stable ps is 9+. 8. You hit the nail. Its variance prone. You might have a game where you roll natties all day, and you have a ball. But in those matchups where you face a ps 10/11 poe or QD or vader, or soon the X-wing aces with VI, you will find yourself heavily disfavoured. The phantoms have enough firepower already. I cannot see why this should push it so many leagues over the edge, that it becomes competitive. The issue with the phantom is its lack of autothrusters, coupled with its high price and low PS. But hey, I might be wrong. Give it a spin and tell us what you find out! :-) I personally think this fits better on vader or in a defender list.
  3. I disagree. I ran a Norra-Poe-Fenn list with double regen, and it was GOOD. The two upgrades does not combo, but that doesn't mean it is pointless. You get a full dial, which can really utilize the T-70's speed, with focus/TL every round. The trick to making it work is presenting your opponent with the hard choice, a benchmark of every good list. For my list, the opponent had to choose; Do I kill C-3PO/R2D2 norra, annoying Fenn, or budget Poe, that still can regen? Usually they went for norra, and poe could just fire away, and if they went for poe, you just stay on the defensive and regenerate every turn. It all comes down to it being a harder decision every round: 'Does my opponent focus Poe next round, or can I keep my focus for staying on the offensive?' Just my unwarranted 2 cents ;-)
  4. The N'dru with fearlessness is a neat combo for 24 points. I mean, your enemy HAS to deal with him first, which means you could play something nasty next to him.. 5. I would probably bring the bomber, just for the fun of it. Play conservative with dash, and present your crimson as a target before going in. Infinite bomblets gets people to target your B/SF instead. And if not, just smash it in their way as they chase dash. EDIT: I might take off bodhi rook for deflective plating on the B/SF.
  6. I choose you, option 3! I love playing all kinds of stuff that's Rebel.. To be frank, if it was a upcoming Q1 tournament, I would probably bring Lothal/Fenn, option 3. (Very unpopular opinion incoming!) I normally despise netlisting, but at the systems open, I sparred my friends with the lothal/fenn list... and despite it being insane, I actually think it is a fun list to play (I havent played more than 20 games with it, so limited experience), that looks extremely thematic! I mean, yes it is from rebels, but almost every single upgrade is from the series, and you really feel like you are commanding the spectres with the list ;-) It has some bad matchups, and the mirror is as all mirrors not very exciting unless you are very skilled in the mirror I think. I like that the list is all about maneuvers (I played a ton of heragator before, so for me this is an actually GOOD version of it), but you still have to be worried about stress lists, getting boxed in, being ionized and all the other crap that kills the ship.
  7. I would have to say the YT-2400 all around. It is a lovely smuggling vessel, I loved 'Shadows of the Empire', so for that reason I like the lore aspects of it. I have been an avid dash player ever since I started playing a couple of years ago.. Throwing a ton of dice, while arc-dodging was what made me love dash.. Even if he isn't QUITE as fun anymore (since there are so many turrets and stress-ful mechanics that makes super-dash redundant), he is still my all time favourite ship/pilot to fly! All hail the big barrel roll! It looks awesome too, a different take on a freighter, than the all-beloved falcon, but those facets I like as well. So for the overall category... Let's for side-kick sake take the B-wing, another of my favourite ships! :-)
  8. When Miranda Nym was still the blaze, there was a palp aces guy who murdered them in the final of a big tournament, because he knew how his opponent liked to play. Surprise by moving super agressive, which surprise surprise, ended up losing him the game in the end. It's not about the lists, as all the top dawgs know how to counter most of the top list, it's rather the playstyle there could be at stake.
  9. I'd also skip advanced slam on miranda, and put TLT on horton instead. His ability begs for it! If he is worth it.. maybe.. You pay 7 points for 6 more PS, and tokenless modification. Not too bad in this meta where people are using fenn left and right. You use slam to reposition, to bump into something nasty for a better position, or just to get away like ****. The extra focus/TL is not worth the two points. On Fenn: While I honestly love your R2D2/determination idea, I can see ways it would backfire greatly (as when you get a major explosion.. direct hit.. structural dmg etc.). The good old' hotshot copilot + flight assist astromech might just be the way to go. On the other hand, Fenn likes his team close, so he can defend them with his ability and coordinate them. With two turrets, that is more difficult, as they don't want to be too close together, and honestly, what is it you want to coordinate? A focus/tl? Not TOO impactful in my opinion. At least without missiles to amplify this. I would consider something like this: Miranda is fatter, more of a point fortress, can use her nasty ability to throw a 5 dice harpoon at your enemy. (It does make miranda more fun to fly, when using missiles!). If it hits, horton have a pretty good chance of hitting a crit, and if that fails, then Ezra have can use his EPT to flip that crit in. If he can't, then he just double stresses the enemy, giving them a hard time. I cannot stress (no pun intended) how important stress is at the moment. It can kill fenn's ability to coordinate the next round, as well as using his own ability. It can turn off expertise. It can turn off Maul. It can and will wreck aces, and when they are tokenless, your TLT actually stands a chance at hitting them. If you don't have long range scanners, get guidance chips, and maybe consider flying Ezra and miranda close, then just coordinate the focus to her, and then she can attempt the TL as her action. 10. I suppose if you ONLY want to fight against Ghost+Fenn, with no variance, because almost all the miranda builds are gimped, then be my guest. Harpoons aren¨'t even that oppressive on rebels, since they rarely have a good way to trigger the condition in the same round. Basically they are the cheaper variant of homing missiles (for the purpose of Miranda's alphastrike), and I am sure you could fit those in the list if you wanted to. empire have tons of ways to do this (palpatine as a for sure way, vader as another), and their gunboat as the best carrier in the game. Look at it another way. What missile-lists have been top tier in the Scum faction? Or would be? To me it seems that timewalk-assajj + sidekick is one of the strongest ways to play scum atm, even stronger than the 3-ship-homing alpha strike lists that seem to be the better of the scum alphas.
  11. Hi! Looking at your list, I personally think your nera is a big too heavily built for what she will deliver. B-wings don't have a great time at the moment, but they are doable. Any ordinance carrier such as Nera however either need Long Range Scanners, guidance chips or something along those lines to ensure a alphastrike hits on the first round of combat, before the ship dies. If you do wish to work with Nera, I would honestly suggest proton torpedos as well as deadeye to leverage her low pilot skill. But as mentioned, ordinance (missiles, bombs and torpedos) have gotten a lot of help in later expansions, most notably extra munitions (gives you an extra missile for only 2pts!) and guidance chips (free hit/crit on any die). With your collection, I would consider something like this: Ask beforehand if anyone would lend you a C-3PO for the day. It really works well on Han. He is PS 11, have passive mods through luke and his ability, can boost out of arcs, and have loads of health. If he can't boost, he just grabs an evade. Evade + C-3PO guess 0 makes for a very very tanky late-game ship. B-wing and A-wing is basically just fillers for your list. If you can't borrow a C-3PO, I would consider going for Kyle Katarn, incase people brings stress (or you need to K-turn). Also, its cool, old-school ships, that looks great on the table. Even if you lose, it will be a joy to play with such iconic ships!.. 12. Being a smuggler for Jabba the Hutt isn't enough to fit him along side bounty hunters, cartel runners, cartel bosses etc.? I think what you really want with your line of thought, is X-wing 2.0 Incorporating a new faction, and putting scum into empire leads to a huge balancing problem. Imagine the problem the playtesters have currently, not being able to predict what combo's get out of hand (the ghost for example)... Then double or triple those issues if you combine empire and scum. You would probably have to split up the existing scum faction, so there is some kind of balance, etc. etc. Basically a nightmare, and nobody would ever consider it. That being said, a sub-faction to the scum and villainy within the scoundrel and smuggler faction might be possible, although I personally can't see the growth of faction with the source material available. One movie does not a faction make.
  13. Oh boy, oh boy. Norra is there because I love her and her little ship, so as tricked out as she can be.. ouch. Miranda because of bombs and regen. Nym because he can fling bombs, keep one on the table, have painbot for more unblockable damage. Ten numb, because I love B-wings, and the idea of him smashing proton bombs, and unblockable mangler is just too hilarious. If you focus on Ten first, you might get sabine off the board... But does that really matter if you let two regenerating SOBs alive, while you eat proton bombs? All the ordinance is just in there to make it feel like we're in rogue squadron, were proton torpedoes actually matter. 14. I played this at the copenhagen systems open. Lost to Jesper Hill and his control bots, but otherwise had a blast. Double regen and a bit of control from fenn is good fun. You might put low in, instead of Poe, but that gives a different list with a different win-condition. Norra carried maybe 80 % of my 50 or so games I have played with the list.
