Since it is a campaign setting, you can't just up and change your list unless you restart. Changing his list could take a grueling amount of games to grind out the changes but then if you aren't having fun, why bother?
We started a RitR campaign and IMMEDIATELY ran into that "no fun" problem of players bringing the biggest ships they could. We played two rounds and restarted the whole campaign with a house rule of no large bases allowed. It mades things a lot more fun for everyone; the fleet builds were more creative and a lot of our otherwise under used ships hit the table.

It's going to steer like a barge.  No Madine or Jerjerrod to stop them leaving the board.
(Also considering the hilarious possibility of using a Konstantine fleet on them to make them go speed 3)

It sounds like you have a player problem, not a squadron rules problem.
You're going to need to be confrontational and address this directly. If you don't, your group will likely fragment and die off. Coming up with house rules will only hurt your group even more as that's not welcoming to new players coming into your community and will mess the rest of you up if you go to play people who aren't using your homebrew rules.
It should not take a player that long to move all their squadrons. Even in tournament play with two squadron heavy lists going at it, they usually finish on time. It might take the whole round, but they get it done.
You could try to play with a game time limit like in tournaments. You could also encourage them to use washers or other markets to make movement quicker and easier.
In the end it comes down to policing your own. Don't discourage them from playing squadrons but let them know that their slow play has become a problem.

It will probably be in Tade Federation colors because that is how it appeared on-screen.
I doubt the Lucrehulk will be a Huge based ship. Look at it's size relative to an ISD or Starhawk and then compare that to an SSD.
I'd expect one side of the cardboard to be the Battleship and the other to be the Droid Control Ship carrier. Slow, high hull but low shields, modest dice to Forward Left and Right. So, I expect more Hull than an ISD but less shields (less shields compared to the Age of Rebellion ships seams to be common theme amoung Clone Wars era ships). I would not be surprised by an Engineering value of only 3 and Speed 2. Less attack dice total, but a near even spread covering the 3 main arcs (4/4/4 or 6/6/6) with a combo of all 3 colors.
Squadron value of probably 6 for the carrier. We've never seen any base stat higher and feel this is for game balance reasons. You know there will be some cards to boost that anyways, as Expanded Hanger Bays is already a thing and some sort of Flight Control Droid officer card isn't a stretch.

    Why?
The majority of ships don't have major moving parts. It would just be a gimmick that doesn't really give any gameplay benefit, would make the models more complex, less durable and more expensive.

I would recommend purchasing a single four to six foot folding table and making a topper for it.  With all the supplies, it can come to just under $100 (depending on the table you choose) and you will have a large, flat playing surface that you can store in your garage and doesn't require playmats.

I purchased a 1/2 in. x 49 in. x 97 in. MDF Panel from Home Depot and had them cut two 49 in. x 38 in. sections in the store.  I also purchased some 1 in. wide blue painter's tape, semi-gloss black paint, clear gloss ultra cover paint, and some dowels to hold the sections together.  After sanding it down to make it smooth, I drilled holes in the short side then glued (in one set of holes) and inserted the dowels to create a 76 in. x 49 in. surface.  Measure and pencil a 72 in. x 36 in. playing surface and mark the outside of the line with the painter's tape.  Paint over in black paint (two coats), remove the painter's tape, then paint a coat of the ultra cover.  This will give you a reliable playing surface that is already the correct dimensions for both 400- and 200-point games while having plenty of space on each side of the table for players to keep their cards, tokens, etc.  Please message me if you want more specifics on exactly what I purchased to make this.  Hope this helps.

I wouldn't mind 14 days of self quarantine... I work for one of those "essential" businesses and it's absolutely crazy busy right now. Fortunately, our management really stepped up to handle this crisis and are taking great care of us. Unfortunately, we have a lot of customers who have no concept of what "essential" or "quarantine" mean, so they show-out with some serious attitude problems and are putting us directly at risk of exposure.

After a careful review of Armada tournaments from the past few years, all further tournaments have been cancelled indefinitely.
This is due to the discovery of corona at every Armada tournament since December 2016.

Worse still, it's of a previously unknown 'solar' strain of the virus.

    Hey Guys,
just wanted to share a little Armada Success Story with you.
I live in southern Germany and  got the Starter - Set of Armada in May 2017 as a birthyday gift (i never would have bought it by myself). From that Point on it took me almost a year until i found a first Amrada Player in my city. I started watching a lot of @Crabbok clips about armada and joined this community.
    I also joined a local X-Wing - Group.
From that point on created a Whattsapp - Group for local Armada Games and started recruiting X-Wing Players and other Armada Players in my Area.
By now we have a active little Armada community here with around 8-10 Players. We started our forst RitR Campaign and our first local Armada Tournament will be in March 2020.
So safe to say - the game is far from dead and it is possible to create a local community.
    I have spoken !

There's some ships I bought simply because buying the entire expansion pack was cheaper than buying the cards I wanted separately (Neb, Raider, etc...).
I too hate the look of the MK II Space Potato so I bought some of Mel's Assault Frigates that I use as stand-ins.

I am playing Rebs in our RitR campaign...
Despite the low points limit, be prepared to deal with Star Destroyers.
Keep in mind you can't (permanently) add more ships to your fleet later but you can add squadrons. So pick some ships you like 'cause that's what your stuck with for the long haul. Buy your two Ace squadrons starting out but don't go squadron crazy. You can add more later but more importantly if you take lots of squadrons you're going to end up with lots of understrength (ie: scarred) squadrons pretty quick.  Also, even though there is no % cap on squadrons if you loose all you ships you are still tabled. 160 points of snub fighters isn't going to hurt that speed 3 ISD enough before it smashes your single ship and insta wins, so don't build that sort of list.
All obstacles on a 3x3 means you're going to have to deal with them a lot more than you may be used too. Those Commander skills based around obstacles are more useful than they appear.  Keep this in mind when flying anything with a large base...

Alright, so I dropped Vader for Motti.
On the ISD, I Swapped Flight Controllers out for Gunnery Teams, added Leading Shots and Strategic Advisor

    Added Ordinance Experts to Demloisher.

    That comes to 399 points.

The low # of activation s is just something I've learned to deal. If you have an ISD in your list you won't be out activating an MSU anyways.

Much like with the ECM, local meta affects my bid. Bids have gotten crazy. If you want to go first you're needing an 18-24+ point bid and then still might not get first player. The other option is as I did and simply not play that game. I don't want to drop a Defender of Gozanti just to have a hope I win the bid against someone. I have my angry swarm and if they want to move closer to the ISD and Demo before they activate, I am fine with that.

I am thinking of throwing back to something close to the first style of lists I played, running an ISD as a Battlecarrier and with swarms of my favorite Tie Defenders.
    Vader’s Defenders
    Author: Dameon

    Faction: Galactic Empire
    Points: 398/400

    Commander: Darth Vader

    Assault Objective: Most Wanted
    Defense Objective: Fighter Ambush
    Navigation Objective: Superior Positions

    [ flagship ] Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer (120 points)
    -  Darth Vader  ( 36  points)
    -  Relentless  ( 3  points)
    -  Flight Controllers  ( 6  points)
    -  Boosted Comms  ( 4  points)
    -  Electronic Countermeasures  ( 7  points)
    -  X17 Turbolasers  ( 6  points)
    = 182 total ship cost

Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer (56 points)
    -  Demolisher  ( 10  points)
    -  Minister Tua  ( 2  points)
    -  Electronic Countermeasures  ( 7  points)
    -  Assault Proton Torpedoes  ( 5  points)
    = 80 total ship cost

    Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
    -  Bomber Command Center  ( 8  points)
    = 31 total ship cost

    1 Colonel Jendon ( 20 points)
    1 Maarek Steele ( 21 points)
    4 TIE Defender Squadrons ( 64 points)
    = 105 total squadron cost

I know that many players favor Early Warning System over Electronic Counter Measures but I feel that ECMs are a better fit here. I am seeing more "Monster Truck" style lists with multiple big ships and I've done some die-crunching and my experiments found that ECMs are more effective than EWS when defending against attacks that throw large numbers of dice. Conversely, EWS is better when facing MSU or squadron heavy lists where you're taking a greater number of attacks but that roll less dice per attack, but I have my own Squadrons providing an aggressive defense vs that.

Yes, I am curious why having ECMs hurts me. I was already considering dropping BCC. Trading Hera for a floaty sounds like a good idea. Salvage Run doesn't get played a lot around here, so I'd want to practice with that mission before I am comfortable enough to try it competitively. Thanks for the ideas!
