  2. So happy to hear you have been experimenting with these, Bio. I’ve been trying out 2 Rho’s + Ace as well. My biggest concern with the Gunboats so far has been their durability. It seems like one will die quickly in the opening pass if it gets focus fired. Have you had any issues with them just not lasting long enough to really bring the pain? My build has been: Rho Squadron Veteran (32) - Alpha-class Star Wing Crack Shot (1), XG-1 Assault Configuration (1), Long-Range Scanners (0), Linked Battery (2), Heavy Laser Cannon (7) Rho Squadron Veteran (32) - Alpha-class Star Wing Crack Shot (1), XG-1 Assault Configuration (1), Long-Range Scanners (0), Linked Battery (2), Heavy Laser Cannon (7) Plus an Ace to flavor. I’ve generally been trying to have an AT Ace, either Inquisitor with a Procket, or Fel.
  3. XG’s with HLC and Linked Batteries throw very consistent and powerful offense from what little proxying I have done. Been running two Rho’s with HLC, LB, XG-1, VI, and LRS with a Targeting Computer Fel at 98 points. The Gunboats have been worth their points for sure in how powerful their shots are. Even range 1 primaries can pack a punch. Biggest problem they will have is against higher PS alpha strikes. I’ve been running VI instead of CS to get above Black Sun Aces with DE and Harpoons. They are also vulnerable on the turns they have to SLAM. Thinking about changing to this list: Gunboats! (98) •Lieutenant Karsabi (35) - Alpha-class Star Wing Veteran Instincts (1), XG-1 Assault Configuration (1), Long-Range Scanners (0), Linked Battery (2), Heavy Laser Cannon (7) Rho Squadron Veteran (32) - Alpha-class Star Wing Veteran Instincts (1), XG-1 Assault Configuration (1), Long-Range Scanners (0), Linked Battery (2), Heavy Laser Cannon (7) •The Inquisitor (31) - TIE Adv. Prototype Push The Limit (3), TIE/v1 (1), Autothrusters (2) The ability to SLAM and still fire the HLC will be very powerful. Going to try to put this on the table and test it out. Btw, these things are so fast with that SLAM! I knew they would be, but it’s still crazy how much distance they can cover!

  6. Thinking it's this: "When you perform a primary or [cannon] secondary attack, you may reload." That's not bad,but I'm hoping it's something more along the lines of your guess. My interpretation would mean you would want to take missiles and torps, but you're taking the title that focuses on cannons.

  8. We can see from the spread in the article that there is no double cannon upgrade. We can see that it does come with two cannons, as others have pointed out.

  13. A squad mechanic. This could really be a way to boost generics (give all of a certain generic ship type a bonus if you have so many in your squad).
