Crayon got a reaction from EbonHawk in New player, MC75 build
Hello everyone. I just started playing a few weeks ago and I'm looking for a little advice with my fleet. Until now I've just been using what few ships I have, but yesterday I picked up a few more ships so now I've got a lot of options.
my goal when building this fleet was to have a larger number of ships, with less upgrades per ship.
Name: Dodonna's armory
Faction: Rebel
Commander: General Dodonna
Assault:
Defense:
Navigation:
MC75 Armored Cruiser (104)
• General Dodonna (20)
• Ordnance Experts (4)
• Early Warning System (7)
• Assault Proton Torpedoes (5)
• Profundity (7)
= 147 Points
MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63)
• External Racks (3)
• Foresight (8)
= 74 Points
CR90 Corvette B (39)
• Dodonna's Pride (6)
= 45 Points
CR90 Corvette B (39)
• Overload Pulse (8)
= 47 Points
Hammerhead Torpedo Corvette (36)
• Garel's Honor (4)
= 40 Points
Squadrons:
• Rogue Squadron (14)
• 2 x A-wing Squadron (22)
• Z-95 Headhunter Squadron (7)
= 43 Points
Total Points: 396
so is this something that could work or am I way off here?

My reasoning for the MC 75 not being the ordinance is that I picked the wrong one lol. Thanks for the catch.
I'm not sure if I understand you on the MC30 though, are you saying to drop the external racks for assault proton torpedos? I don't seem to be able to take both.
Thanks for your help!

Crayon got a reaction from mtrein in Unsportsmanship and sore losers
I hate it when people quit because they had a bad start or don't feel like they can keep up anymore. Maybe if it was in a league for score I wouldn't care as much but I wanna see it through to the end game.
I feel like them quitting early prevents me from getting valuable late game experience (and I can easily make m own mistakes causing me to be the one trailing behind)
This hasn't happened in xwing though. I'm usually the one loosing. But I don't give up.
There has been times where I felt obligated to play another game even after I'm done and ready to go home. That usually sucks. But I guess I'm getting my money's worth.

Crayon reacted to rabid1903 in Dice Etiquette - What To Do When Too Many Dice are Rolled?
Too many = reroll with the correct amount
Too few = roll extra dice until you're at the correct amount

Reroll them all. That extra die changes the odds, and the behavior of the dice as they leave the hand and bounce on the table or against each other.

Crayon got a reaction from Bikeanimal in Your largest game?
Last night we played a 4v4 with each player having 200 points.
This led me to invision full squadrons of Ships supporting each other, and so I came here to ask "what is the most ships (not points) you've fielded at a single time?"

Crayon got a reaction from Rhoaran in Would you change how you purchased XWing???
Immediately following that post I went and bought a y wing, an A wing, a B wing, and an E wing(one each of the available ships) as well as an outrider or whatever the large one is called.
I also ordered the transport and a z wing, an will get the K when they are delivered next Friday.
Prior to this I had 5 X's (one core, one expansion, two traded from the core ties and one donated) the aces pack, and the CR 90.
Help me......

Just getting into it last week, I can't enjoy the pleasure of starting with nothing but x wings and then adding squadrons of new ships as they arrive. I'm stuck needing to buy everything but not wanting to get it all in one clump. I want to enjoy the pleasure of growing my force. I guess its futile and I should just give in.

I think the issue wording is because you can't be attacking and defending all at once.
Glad someone clarified for the OP, the condescending replies are a poor reflection on the community.

I understand wha your saying and think its great. Firstly wha it's doing is giving regular joe pilots a little talent or skill that their squadron has specialize in.
Would multipul unique pilots be able to join into the squadron or just one per? Or maybe one per 3 ships?

I think what I'll end up doing is running groups of ships in formations. Some formations will be one ship type but others will be baised on their assigned mission and include different ships for synergy or something. For that reason I think I'll run more small ships rather than large ones. I'd like to recreate the attack force used against the original Death Star, but after looking it up, there were 22 x wings and 8 y wings, along with a number of other ships making up a total of four squadrons.
Maybe just a smaller version of it lol, quarter size?

Hello fellow rebel pilots,
I was sitting in my flgs Saturday when someone offered to teach me this game, and now I'm addicted. I immediately bought the starter box, and traded my tie fighters for more x wings, and purchased a fourth xwing. Two more players showed up and we did a 2v2, in which the imperials had a raider (which I thought was just a star destroyer).
Needless to say, I am now addicted, and can't get this game out of my head. This has led to some questions.
Firstly, I keep seeing these threads or comments on the xwing not beign on par with other ships. Why is this? I know I'm a rookie pilot, but In my two games, I flew my wing of four in formation to great success. Ganging up on groups of weaker ships to thin ther numbers before moving on to the tougher targets seemed to work great for me. I'd love to get some more x wings but I don't think I want to buy a transport for the consolation prize that is porkins.
Secondly, what would be a good next buy for me? As I read more and more I think how I can use the ship to assist my current squadron. The problem has become that each ship has its merits and I want them all, I just don't want to buy them all at once. Now I'm looking at the CR-90 and got permission from the wife to get one. This could be nice to bring to the party next time the raider shows up and we do another 2v2, or am I jumping into the deep end too soon and need to stay in the shallows a bit longer?
Finally, what other (and correct me if in usjng the wrong term) epic sized ships could possibly be introduced into the game in future updates? I guess I'm also currious to know, but I'm sure no one knows yet, is it possible that even bigger ships get introduced? Perhaps massive space stations limited to a one square move? (I've seen some pictures of what look like scratch builds)
Thanks for the answers guys,

I don't think this helps you at all, but I licked my Raider when I opened it.
In fact, I'm sure that doesn't help you at all.

There used to be, but Disney lawyers yanked it off the App Store.
The transport can assist friendly units like giving them focus tokens. It also can use an upgrade card to ion nearby enemy ships.
