Buddha7305 reacted to Smuggler in Oh no, not you again... The Millenium Falcon :(
You can chose to look at the falcon squadron as a squadron of X amount of Y fighters lead by the falcon. Or you can chose to think that it is grosly OP and imersion breaking or what ever. The choise is yours.

Not much to discuss as it was already spoiled a few days ago.

Buddha7305 reacted to Mundo in Initiative or your fleet's objectives
I always spend the full 300 pts and never bother to bid. Happy to go first and get the first activation advantage, and pick a mission that suits me best out of the opponent's selection. Or go second and get a mission that gives me an advantage.
I would rather take the upgrades, and the opponent waste points on a bid!

Buddha7305 reacted to Tvayumat in Initiative or your fleet's objectives
Right now, my go to fleet doesn't want initiative, because my objectives give me such a major advantage.
I've been playing 300 pts and going second so long, I actually get frustrated when people give me initiative.
I've started taking initiative bids just to give initiative away.

Honesty time, how many of us take each little ship out of the packaging, immediately hold it up and make laser noises. I know im not alone here, and am willing to admit I will do it again when my ISD and Home One arive!
We all spend hours playing with our little plastic space ships, dont be shy.

My rules
Don't roll blanks.
Don't Fly off the board.
Bring your ships.
find a store that has only one other person that shows up and just roll a D6 to see who wins, after that play one game that is 800 points per side.

Buddha7305 reacted to Tirion in A moment of appreciation for beginning at the beginning
Very well put this makes me want to go back and play a game with just the core set again. I think with what I know now the rebels would crush.... but I'm a biased rebel player hahah. I just love my chances with a corvette a neb dodonna and luke to destroy one vic. Man your right thinking back to the 180 point days I had no idea how i was EVER going to destroy one of those things.

Buddha7305 reacted to Tvayumat in Will the Raider fumble?
Step 1: Take a Raider
Step 2: Put Overload Pulse on it
Step 3: Use Admiral Screed to guarantee a blue critical
Step 4: Unload your unholy complement of dice from your Star Destroyers into whatever the Raider just Overload Pulsed
Step 5: Get choked out by Vader for an unrelated failure

Buddha7305 got a reaction from KennedyHawk2 in Where to start?
When we started games, the biggest mistake we made was flying the ships off the board. If you own both sides of the core play a few mock games on a gaming surface to get the turning radiuses of ships down right. For tactics and ship building I found for the longest time never taking the same set up helped me more find what I love to play with. My last piece of advice is if you have a good friend to play with do not choose 3 objectives before you make your fleet but randomly play 1 mission after you built your fleet. (Then take it out of the rotation until you have played them all) We found this helped our games immensely.

Buddha7305 reacted to Tranenturm in Home One official preview
If I had the models, I'd certainly run 8 corvettes and Akbar. Corvettes lose no more dice than any other rebel ship, and at long range they simply trade the front arc for two dice on the side. This means I don't need the CR-90 to point inwards. With that many activations and my vettes always able to run away that's some serious control of the battle.

Buddha7305 got a reaction from Reinholt in Rebels, how have you defeated Screed, 2+ Gladiators w/ ACM?
I face this set up semi regularly. For me it starts with obstacle set up. Try to divide the board in half at an angle. I will start my ships back and behind the los of obstacles, I also start my fleet at speed 3 or 4. Being that I have more drops than my opponent, which ever side the least amount of ships ends on I try to get numerical superiority on that side. Then it is flying fast and flanking attacks to frustrate the glads. I also find my Y wings do enough hits to weaken some shields that by turn 3 or 4 I can take 1 out. Good luck!
