  1. I seem to be unable to access the Force Powers Battle Meditation, Bind and Protect/Unleash in the Character Generator even though they are listed in the Data Editor. Is anybody else having this problem? Not sure if it's because I'm on windows 10, but I am running the most current version of the editor.

All of these have a Force Requirement of 2+, so if your character only has 1 Force Point, then they will not see them, as they cannot purchase them.  If you give the character another Force Point, then they should be there.

  2. You would probably also want an ACE: Rigger (or other mechanic) in there to keep the tank purring like a kitten

Using just AoR and F&D for a possible Jedi:

Commander: Figurehead or Squadron Commander (though Instructor would be interesting

    Ace: Driver

    Solider: Heavy*

    Ace: Gunner*

    Ace: Rigger (or Scientist; Engineer)

With a possible Jedi of some sort

    * possible multiples

This would have 5 or 6 PCs with extras being PC controlled gunners for extra guns (either a minion group or some rivals)

If you wanted to move this upto an armored platoon, you could have each PC be someone that was in a separate tank, with one being a Commander: Squadron Leader or Figurehead commanding the platoon from 1 vehicle with the other PCs being 1 crew on the other tanks and controlling that vehicle's crew for other things.

  3. Another possibility regarding the potential order of F&D career books has occurred to me, so I thought I'd share.

Once again, this is related to the specialization decks, but not as directly related to their product codes.  For Force, unlike for Age or Edge, the Core Rulebook specialization decks were released in pairs - the first pair was announced with an article called "Might and Right" and contained the Guardian and Warrior; the second was "Seek and You Shall Find" and contained the Sentinel and Seeker; the final pair was released with the article "Take the Future into Your Hands" and gave us the Consular and Mystic.

We got our order of product codes based on this: Guardian > Warrior > Sentinel > Seeker > Consular > Mystic.  However, the order of career books so far has been: Guardian > Sentinel > ??? > Seeker.

I am not sure what you meant here.  As the F&D career books have been Guardian> SEEKER> then Sentinel so we are missing the second book from the first pair and both books from the final one.

  4. Hey Ogg Dude

I think that there is a problem with klantooinians unless I am reading/using it wrong they seem to be getting their one free rank in an out of career skill but they don't get one free rank in ranged (heavy)/ranged (light)/brawl

There should be either a tick box menu or a pull down menu after you have selected the race

  5. anything may need to be smuggled. Look at what was being smuggled in to the colonies prior to the American Revolution. all raw materials and finished goods needed to be shipped to England and then back to the colonies.

So for example, if you ran a farm in NY ir Virginia and you needed a new iron plow blade, you had to wait for the iron from Pennsylvania to be shipped to England and made into the blade and shipped back. Samee goes for the cotton needed for the textile mills in Massachusetts.

If the planet is under blockade, regular food stuffs could be smuggled.

  6. In the most egregious encounter of the night, he killed 4 people on speeder bikes as literally the first combat check of the encounter (we did Pilot rolls before that since it was a chase).  He targeted the minions, but I let him use an Auto Fire hit to hit the Rival who was leading the group.

What sort of penalties did you assign to him shooting at the drivers of the bikes?  Remember, while they have low Hull Threshold, Bikes are still vehicles and divide the damage by 10 dropping fractions.  Also, if the bikes were moving did you modify the difficulty for them being moving targets.

When this comes up in my games, I add at least 2 setbacks and auto upgrade the difficulty by 1 for shooting at the driver.  So with autofire, it is a base difficulty of RPPBB at medium range.

  7. Also, light repeating blasters are typically very restricted in most civilized areas.  Local authorities, will usually harass or detain people that carry them in town.  Also, make use of Threats and Dispares to damage the weapon.  Have enemies come in from multiple vectors so they cannot all be shot at once.  If the player does not have extra reloads (either the items or the talent) 3 threat or a dispare will prevent him from shooting.

  8. The rule is called Two Weapon Fighting.

You choose the 2 weapons that you wish to use and then use the worst skill for that.  In this case you are using 2 pistols, they both use Ranged (Light).  Next you increase the difficulty by 1 to hit.  Then if you get 3 advantages, you can choose to have that translated into a second hit on the same target.  As this is another "hit" soak would apply again.

Using 2 melee weapons would be the same (but use melee skill).  It is possible to use a melee weapon and a pistol, but in that case you use the worse of your melee or ranged skills and then increase the difficulty by 2 (I think).

Your droid, would need to choose which weapon system to use.  So when you get all of your weapons, you would choose either melee, the 2 pistols (or 1 of each), or the long arm.

Also, remember that if you are using a ranged weapon at Engaged range you further increase the difficulty (+1 for Light, +2 for heavy, and cannot fire gunnery weapons)

  9. the passanger complement number is for them to be comfortable and have the duration lited in the consumables section. it is very possible to overload the ship with 2, 3, or even 4 times the listed passangers if the ship is not going to be operating for long periods of time.

Earth pirate ships in the age of sail, routinely carried far more people then the same ship sailed as a civilian merchant shop.

Same with the salve ships that had 100s of people being used as cargo.
