  1. Fascinating, you keep this up and it may very much become a career if FFG take notice (not that I have any idea how they work, just my thoughts not theirs unfortunately). I'm sure doing something you love as a career, whilst it might become more of a chore, would still be more enjoyable than doing something you don't have a passion for. At the moment I have my players having their first tentative steps into Terrinoth through Legacy of Dragonholt (just completed) and Descent 2 (just starting) with the intention of then bringing them into the Genesys RPG with the lore and events established in those games as part of the additional history when the RPG begins in earnest. I never even had the foresight of bringing in a new darkness (let alone two), just letting events progress through a series of more standard adventures. It looks like you've gone much further and will have a great deal of lore and adventures prepared by the time I introduce my players to Realms of Terrinoth and I will have to say I won't be too proud to pilfer such in depth work
  2. Wow, amazing work Watercolour Dragon, as Senator Palpatine says "I shall watch your career with interest". Just out of curiosity is the Fourth Darkness something out of one of the other Terrinoth game products or is it something you've come up with yourself?
  3. That is so cool and very helpful for Terrinoth aficionados like myself. I wouldn't be surprised if FFG approach you if they decide to create a Terrinoth bestiary since you've done so much of the hard work already.
  4. I think you could use it to get the creative juices flowing for a game. I think you could definitely set an adventure in the hidden kingdom of Saradyn with the characters trying to foil Eliza's play for power. You might have to take out a few elements and focus and expand on the main ones you want as a board game is a little bit denser not having to worry about realism and flow as much as a role-playing game does. As Horus States, however, the framework is definitely there, you'll just have to do some work to convert it to an rpg adventure.
  5. Thanks for that Sadjit, That's how I interpreted it too. I think it should be written as all search cards should be used for a one time effect as listed on the card and then placed facedown. Writing it some cards makes it sound like the card should specify when the card is only one use, where as items like healing potions, stamina potions and fire flasks make sense to only be one use but don't explicitly state it on their rules. I might have got more confused because one of the items that the characters found was the warding talisman, which thematically could be more than one use but would seem to fit in the same category as the potions. It seems people are on the same page about the rules though, which makes me think I probably got my interpretation correct.....
  6. Hi all, I have what I am sure is a stupid question with an easy answer, that will show how new I am to this game (played my first game on the weekend and was the Overlord) but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer. When using a basic search card, such as a health potion or fire flask, it says flip this car to use the effects, which I would assume would be a one off use. However, usually when an item is turned over this just means it's unequipped and can be equipped again at the start of the player's next turn. I'm sure these are meant as one off use items, but can't find it definitively stated in the rules (which I've probably just missed). Is anybody able to state whether the items are one-use or multiple use (I know they are returned after the game) and if they are just one use where this is stated (as I'm sure the players will argue otherwise). Thanks in Advance! Sune
  7. I did something similar with Talisman. I basically ran a game where all the players got sucked into a game of Talisman as the characters they picked (Jumanji style). To add authenticity to the game I randomly selected cards from the adventure deck and crafted the adventure around that. Not sure if that's exactly the same thing you are talking about but I had a lot of fun trying it out.
  8. I fully agree, the female heroes in 2nd edition are far less scantily clad. It seems to be a direction with all of their Terrinoth line as the pictures in the Realms of Terrinoth Genesys rulebook also have great and colourful fashion but much less flesh showing 😊
  9. I should have known you'd already be on top of it with your in depth write ups 😊
  10. Not sure if this will be useful for those looking for fluff and lore to base their creatures on but there is a Descent 2 Wiki that has stats and write-ups for all monsters available in the game here http://descent2e.wikia.com/wiki/Descent:_Journeys_in_the_Dark_(Second_Edition)_Wiki
  11. I've found there's a good mix of male and female characters in the game (assuming your female friends only want to play female characters). The expansions also have a good mix but if you want to get the Cult of the Forgotten expansion right off the bat all four included heroes are female to bulk up your options.
  12. Thanks for that, I was thinking I was stupid for not being able to find the rule. Not actually having the rule would be the reason 😂
  13. Hi all, I recently purchased the base game and a couple of hero and monsters expansions to bulk it up. I'm starting my first game soon as the overlord but have to admit I don't understand how the rumour cards and advanced quests work I.E how do you incorporate rumour cards in your game. I am thinking just to allow the extra quests as options but wanted to know how it actually should work. I'm sure when someone points out the rules this will seem obvious and I will slap myself in the face. Thanks in advance!
  14. In the Legacy of Dragonholt game, set in Terrinoth, one of the pre-generated characters is a trans-female human who has a dark skin-tone - Kei Dawnstarr. Also the book describes humans as having no lack of variation, with skin tones ranging from deep brown and red to gold and pale pink, with most Albesians, Lorimorians and Sayr-Savim having dark or heavily tanned appearances.
  15. I'm sure it had another name at some stage but I could imagine the name being struck from all records and the mere mention its name being considered to bring with it a curse or at least bad luck. Due to this the name has been lost over the centuries, although it may still be referenced in some obscure, long forgotten text.
  16. Yes, as Cantriped states it has quite a lot of setting material. I didn't really know a lot of the setting before I bought the book but actually found myself really drawn in by the lore and the possibilities.
  17. Ah so that's a generic one, not a fantasy one?
  18. Both sound great, is the GM sheet available anywhere?
  19. Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has created any RoT specific GM Screen inserts (or possibly just a generic fantasy gm screen)? I put a similar post on the main Genesys forum and didn't get any love so I thought I would try the dedicated forum. Thanks in Advance. Sune
  20. Hi all, I've been loving the content on here. I was wondering though if anyone has created pages for a GM Screen in a similar vein to the Star Wars ones for Genesys but more specifically for Realms of Terrinoth? I bought myself The Master's Tome Customizable GM Screen but when I went to try to create the content found I had absolutely no talent for it ? Hoping one of the more talented content creators on here might have already developed something handy that I can just print out and slip into my tome.... Thanks in Advance!
  21. I haven't had a good look at it yet but if the content is as high level as the production value, this will be a really awesome adventure!
  22. Thanks just noticed that. I was having a bit of a duh moment. ? So in that case my answer agrees with the answers above. RAW you still use brawn for damage with finesse, however don't forget you can make a house rule if using finesse their skills and dexterity means they can inflict more skilful shots and use these to cause damage instead of brute force.
  23. That's the bit I didn't realise. I thought it was successes plus weapon damage, didn't realise you get brawn damage on top.
  24. I haven't got the book in front of my but from memory isn't damage based on the weapon's damage plus the number of successes you get, thus the number of successes you get using agility with finesse would affect your damage? Maybe I am not remembering it correctly or have misunderstood the question.....
  25. I get you, one thing to bear in mind though is that the idea of Genesys is that nothing is official and it's all a guide/toolbox. Realms of Terrinoth is also designed to be used as inspiration for your own fantasy design if you prefer. I don't think there are any Asiatic people in the pictures from memory. I think there is a Dark skinned Dream Walker portrayed but since they all fell into corruption and ruin they may not be the best example.....
