  2. I've been tinkering around with the recommendations given by defensiveian over at BGG. So far every deck that is available to my gaming group follows the below guidelines: "Plot Deck: Includes 7 unique plots, with a total gold sum of around 32. Player Deck: 60 cards, including 33 Characters, 15 Location and 12 Attachments and Events. 33 Characters includes 3x 1-Cost Reducers, 6x Chars costing 6+ Gold, 9x Chars costing 4 or 5 Gold, 15x Chars costing 3 or less Gold." I like most of his deck recommendations and I find that curve to be good, not just for setup (I'm often able to play 4 cards from hand) but also throughout the game. I'm trying to beef up the Watch a bit however, especially on a few key cards (the ones with "(X?)"). Cards like Benjen, Littlefinger and Ranging Party all work to add strength, I guess I'm just not sure at what point is 3 too many copies or 2 not enough. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.   3. I had a follow up to this question. At what point does Fortified Position take to effect. For example, the 'Queen's Assassin' says: "Reaction: After The Queen’s Assassin enters play using ambush, choose an opponent..." Does this ever go into effect or is it immediately null'd by 'Fortified Position'

  6. So I've taken into consideration what people have said about splitting the Roseroads and Kingsroads among 8 different factions. Instead I am keeping them off to the side with the Title cards, that way any player can choose which deck they wish to use and add 2 of each road to it. That being said, I still could use some help with the plots. While I like using the plots from the precon decks, it feels too redundant sharing the same plot for two different factions (Ex. both Stark and Greyjoy have the same plots). If anyone has a better list of plots for each faction using only whats available from 3 core sets, please let me know our gaming group would really appreciate any feedback on this.
  7. This is beyond wonderful. What you said makes perfect sense also especially considering most of the times the release "dates" are quoted as "quarters" and not actual dates. While AGoT saw amazing premier at GenCon it does make sense that FFG would push to get the Star Wars Minis out because it sells, and it always sells well.
  8. Yikes, that's harsh news. Ebay might be the only option if that's the case. I know there are a few sellers that deal with cards from games like X-Wing miniatures (although that is more popular/lucrative) that might mean they could get on the AGoT wagon as well. Fingers crossed for options
  9. The only thing that could become ridiculous is economy cards. In first edition the core contained a plethora of cards that helped with the overall economy in the game (ie. the "seas", the "chambers", etc). What would be harsh is to put out cards such as 'Crossroads' (1st edtion card) and include only 1 in a chapter pack. Cards like that should be x3 and should be able to be acquired through the deluxe expansions that are more than likely to be expected in the future.
  10. Realistically they will probably just do like what they did with House Bolton in 1st. Ed. and either assign it to another House (non-loyal) or make them neutral.
  11. ^ This. Team Covenant will most likely have these as soon as the cores drop of if not, shortly afterwards. If you get a second core you will have have 8 copies of both Rose and Kings so if you only plan on making the 4 precon decks listed in the Learn to Play guide you will have a lot to work with neutral wise

The plots are a work in progress, any suggestions for each would be greatly appreciated! At the very bottom is a card pool of leftovers, both plot and house cards so that you can see what's left to work with should there be better options for any of these decks.   14. We usually have people for every one of the 6 main houses. Epic 6 player melee matches. I'd be fine not even focusing on Tyrell or Night's Watch at the moment but if you're paying for them you might as well make them as good as possible.
  15. Our gaming group has always played AGoT more like a board game than as something like MtG (ex: constantly buying cards to keep making new decks). So we could use a "little" help with coming up with making 8 balanced decks for the 2nd Edition. I will have 3 core sets to work with for a total of 60 cards of each House/Faction without any neutrals added. So what I need to know is what cards should absolutely be taken out from each faction and what neutrals should be added to replace those? For example, each house should get 1 copy of each 'The Roseroad' as well as 'The Kingsroad'. These are easy because each House/Faction contains x2 of a House specific location (i.e. 'Sea Tower'). While this leaves 3 cards that can be removed additional neutrals become harder to decide what should be there 1:1 replacements. Also because there are 12 total of both 'The Roseroad' and 'Kingsroad', that means 4 House could receive an additional copy of one, where 4 other Houses receive an additional copy of the other. Should Houses that favor gold (such as Lannister) get an additional copy of the Roseroad? Or should they favor a boast to initiative and receive another Kingsroad? Also, I will be using the recommendations for plots as mentioned in the 'Learn to Play' guide to start and plan on adjusting plots accordingly with suggestions from you all. For example, in the 'Learn to Play' guide, both Greyjoy and Start form one deck and share the following plots: -Summons 4,0,1,7 -Winds of Winter 3,4,2,5 -Supporting the Faith 6,2,1,4 -Naval Superiority 2,7,1,6 -Rebuilding 5,5,1,6 -Confiscation 4,5,1,6 -Calm Over Westeros 5,3,1,6 Thus both Stark and Greyjoy will get those plots. Not super keen on the idea but for now that's what I have to work with.
