    Questions - part 2.

I CANNOT ACCESS AND READ THAT LINKED TEXT YOU POSTED HERE... WHY ? CAN YOU REPOST THE LINK OR TELL ME WHAT THAT THREAD OR ARTICLE SAYS IN BRIEF ?!? THANK YOU ALOT !!!

    Questions - part 2.

1 - yes (She can and if you use and abuse such skill that character can result a lil bit overpowered - sometimes - since you can fill texted spaces with enemies that can block or prevent the plans of the opponents: like the Antias Fleet or the Grey Knight emissary ones... You can avoid the opponents to gain more equipments or Power cards !!! AMAZING when playing not cooperative scenarios !!!) 2 - there are missions using that statement - they trigger the reward section just when you enter the space in which another player is... You do NOT need to be at the very start or at the end of the moving phase... You can have an opponent the space closer to your space, roll dice, obtain 3 and then you can "move 1 space towards the opponent", then... "gain reward for the mission" and then "proceed onwards to complete the moving phase" ending on the third space due to respect the dice rolls... Simple. 3 - yes - they count as a full asset since they "transform" themselves into servants or followers that aid your character in combat or in skill fights... SO... Count them towards you max asset count allowable. Simple. 4 - what are you referring to here ?!? ah... I understand your point... Personally I interpret it as they do count ALSO in influence tests: being part of the Ecclesiarchy or the Adepta Sororitas, in the Warhammer 40K grim world, IS a matter of INFLUENCE... Or also to be part of the powerful Inquisition: if you exteem a world to be "corrupted by the Xenos or tainted by Chaos" you can order an EXTERMINATUS or a NUCLEAR or VIRAL bombing of the entire planet itself !!! Doing so can result in the world to collapse or became a sandy and inhabitable block of melted rock or worse, with no trace of the living being that inhabited it before such act of "Empireal Dominion"... THAN, WHAT IS IT IF IT IS NOT A MATTER OF "BEING INFLUENT" ?!? 5 - YES... They are there even once you are into inner tiers... They may do nothing as you clearly report, but they can trigger skills or abilities or assets and specials as you correctly see.
  3. What I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO BUY AND SEE: an expansion that allows to use the iconic weapons of the boardgame version of the game WH 40K... The jetpacks, THE HEAVY AND NORMAL BOLTERS, the chainswords (only one... IN THE RED THREAT DECK TO BE DIGGED FOR IS AN INSANE TASK AND FRUSTRATING IF YOU WANT YOUR SPACE MARINE CHARACTER OR COMMISSAR USE THAT WEAPON IN MELEE !!!) AND ... LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST... A NEW CHARACTER AND MECHANICS RELATED: THE DREADNOUGHT !!! I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO USE A DREAD // WALKER when my character dies... The rule stating "return all your coins and trophies to the box and restart from the Saint Antias space is ridiculous IMO !!!). Maybe the dread character bust and stats should replace a died character if the current scenario allows it... Maybe the "start from saint antias rules" should be taken or revised to implement such mechanics into the core set of Relic... Maybe that walker should have more than only 12 points in one or all the dials... Or similar stuff... But it should not use or discard normal weapons... And it can also lead to a release of a brand new deck or decks just to be added and used when one or more walkers / dreads are in play !!!
  4. Really ? Do the xenofobic Imperium hire "orks contractors" to fight its wars (in what occasion such heresy happened)?!? Orks instead disciplined and almost unbeatable Space Smurfs or Imperial "Astra Militarum" Guard ?!?
  5. This. I don't want to see this game turn into another Talisman. Better add an ork nemesis, preferrably a kommando, which will suit and justify him working alone. Why a Kommando ?!? I prefer to see an iconic Orkish warboss like Uruk Thraka or similar !!! HE IS JUSTIFIED TO "FUORK ALONE" --- NOT A MERE "ORKISH LAME KOMMANDO WHICH UZEZ UN-ORKISH TAKTIKS " (IMAGINE THE SUGGESTED ORKISH CHIEFTAIN MUMBLING BY HIMSELF WHY FFG AND GW HAVE OPTED TO CHOOSE A SIMPLE KOMMANDO INSTEAD OF HIM !!! WHAT AN OFFENSE FOR HIS EGO... SOME HUMIEZ NEED SOME HEADZ BASHED TO REMEMBER THEM WHO... IS THE REAL KAPO OF THE ORKESH HORDEZ ---- WAAAAAAAGHHHH !!!)

When will we hear of a new expansion?

Relic is great even without expansions, and no one forces you to buy them. Oh, c'mon, what IvanB's saying is that every gamer, deep down, desires a sense of completion. I know of many people that have this desire. But not every person, and certainly not every gamer. Anyway, I don't think this was IvanB's saying. It looks like we have both misinterpreted that post. Apparently, IvanB's is just against releasing lame expansions ("I dislike this policy of expensive expansions with nothing into them") but he approves the general idea of releasing expansions ("I prefer "stand alone" boxed core game + "expansions" stuff"). I fully support such viewpoint. You almost got the point... IN GENERAL: I prefer not too many expansions or no expansions at all... BUT... IF the expansions are not so many and not so expensive... And they REALLY add some new mechanics and prolong the "durability" and "playability" of the core game I can think to buy them... What I also said is that I dislike - as you correctly noted - the release of tons and tons of new expansions with almost nothing into them... Take Relic into example: its expansions did not add really cool stuff... Maybe the Nemesis one... BUT... I see not a "Ork Warboss" Nemesis and related threat cards and assets as for the other "opposing forces" of the Imperials... As we know, the Eldar and the Chaos... Or the Tyrant hive Genestealer "Champion // Nemesis"... Why also the iconic weaponry of the boardgame version of warhammer 40k doesn't appeared ?!? Why there is not sign at all of Jetpacks, Two handed chainswords (they added it as a mighty relic in the last expansion, however; but I mean... A base version and not a relic one that maybe expires - like some relics obtainable in the new HoT stuff has been included and seen) or the fan loved "heavy bolters" or the Plasma Rifles and / or the Meltaguns ?!? Why they added TWO copies of a psychic sword that adds a limited admount of points in Willpower battles or the Aposthate assets Mind Blower pistol or the needler pistol and rifle ?!? Do a Space Marine shots needles to enemies ?!? Does the Space Marines turned to be scientists or pacifists ?!? I think not !!! So... Why the adding of such types of weaponry ?!? NONSENSE !!!

When will we hear of a new expansion?

In my opinion the Orange deck is not so often used because in Dark Crusade scenario and all the other scenarios from HoT the game ends too much rapidly... Those scenarios are not well designed... Expecially Dark Crusade itself... In the average in 12 turns all it's over - usually with a common defeat of the players and an easy insane victory for the game "AI" if we agree to call it so...

When will we hear of a new expansion?

I hope not... I dislike this policy of expensive expansions with nothing into them... I prefer "stand alone" boxed core game + "expansions" stuff (for FFG; but not for us, since you will never see "Cluedo" sold in "pieces" !!!

THE SKILL OF THE COMMISSAR IS... ???

Thank you for the answers... I usually play the Commissar correctly then since I always used the rule of "Strangers Acquired" as you described it: he can hold INFINITE (in theory) Strangers Cards in his play area... PS: I wrote in CAPS to keep the attention to this topic... Now that I have been answered I can erase it if you want to...
  10. Can someone tell me if the STRANGERS he "ACQUIRES" during its turns ARE COUNTED INTO THE ASSET LIMITS OR NOT ? Since they aren't PROPERLY "ALLIED ASSETS" I still COUNT them OUTSIDE THE ASSET LIMITS (Allowing him TO HAVE AN INFINITE NUMER OF "STRANGERS", as an "absurd thing", BUT he STILL RETAINS its current limit of ASSETS - like normal weapons and armors and / or "Allies" Cards)... CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHY IT IS NOT CLARIFIED ONTO THE SHEET OF THE CHARACTER AND IF I DO INTERPRET IT CORRECTLY OR NOT ?!? HOW MANY "STRANGERS" CAN IT TAKE ?!? - INFINITE ?!? - UNTIL HE REACHES THE MAX NUMBER OF "ASSET ALLOWED FOR THE COMMISSAR AT THIS TIME" ??? THANKS

    Nameless blade

May you tell me what the card's text is ?!? I don't remember it well...

    House rules

A bit of a necroposting, but still - yes, we played several games with such setup and it proved to be quite balanced, except for the Slaanesh daemonette Nemesis(she gains infamy for corruption cards and points of influence players have, so more players means more infamy). That's a nice idea actually! We usually used these rules for blitz games: 1) 5 trophy points for level up (your idea looks better) 2) 2 completed missions for a Relic(instead of 3) 3) starting level is 3-4 for characters and 2-3 for Nemeses. 4) starting Influence is increased to 6 pts This does look like fun, and sure will speeds things up. Will try it soon. TRY THIS HOUSE RULE: << TROPHY POINTS LIKE EXPERIENCE POINT METHODS USED IN RPG VIDEOGAMES LIKE DIABLO 3>> IF you play / ed an RpG like DIABLO 3 you will recollect to your mind the method used to "level up" consisted of "Low Number of Expe. Points for Low Level Ups" and "More Exp Points for Higher Level Ups"... So... If you "convert it" into Relic you will see that, in order to speed up your game sessions, you could allow the characters to trade 4 trophy points to level up from 1st to 4th level; 5 trophies to level from the 4th to he 8th and 6 trophies to level up from the 8th to the last !!! I use this method and it transforms Relic into a cool rpg styled game !!! It also speeds up alot the game since the very 5 or 6 levels are easier to reach and then you became more powerful in less time spent... I also tested another variant of it allowing the character leveling up with fewer and fewer trophies such as: link the number of trophy points to spend to the "level up" and "power limit increases" thresholds... FOR EXAMPLE... Take the Ogryn - he has a unique "tier" under the levels reporting "Power limit: 3"... This means then that it is already "a veteran" and / or that it is somehow "stupid" (it implies then that he needs more "enemies killed" to gain another level of expertise... SO... He will spend 6 trophy points from level 1 to 12... While the Canoness, which instead has 4 "Power Limit" increases can spend only 3 trophies from level 1st to 3rd; 4 trophies from level 4th to 6th; 5 from 6th to 9th and 6 from level 9th to 12th !!! Showing her fine mindset and proficiency in combat !!!) Try also the "invertion of it" - such as - 6 trophy points to go from level 1st to 3rd; 5 from the 3rd to the 6th and so on... It resembles a "rookie" which needs more and more "combats / training" when he is in the "lower levels" while he doesnt need anymore once he becames a "veteran of many battles"; where he seems to feel "at home" and has seen so many things that nothing shakes him or similar LORE fluff and styled stuff !!!
